  1. :) im from WA too :D pretty stock corolla but never too stock to go for a cruise :D keep the thread updated!
  2. thinking of getting some MTEC 4750K on my 03 corolla but as you said it might fry the end terminal. How much was it to replace the wiring? I've read that you could get some heavy duty wiring harness for the headlight so it will not melt or something does anyone know where to get those wiring or does the stock wiring just melt tht easily? :P thanks heaps for your help and sorry for bumping up such an old topic
  3. and apprantely that gives out 280Hp and 344Nm.. thats what i heard...
  4. alrite :) im not getting them! thanks for the advice! :D
  5. Hey, I was looking through ebay and saw something like this.. CLICK HERE (Ebay) wonder if it works or not, what do you think?
  6. hahah looks like i will be takin a short trip down to sydney this weekend :P hahaha or mayb not :P lol.. thanks neway.. :) i changed the 15 to a 10 inch instead: P
  7. thanks jace, those pic looks awesome :D now i know wht i need hahah.. but yeh.. my friend asked me to ask around see how much ppl would do it for.. i suppose if its round 100 - 150 i wont mind getitng it done by ppl tht know but other then that im sticking with the DIY method :D well, my friend just offered to sell me his 500W amp and a 15' kicker competition sub for 200 bucks (which i think its good price) because lookin around i saw a 150W pioneer sub for 140 bucks then a 12inch sub would cost me another 130 - 150.. so 200 tht lot up thr is good to me :) but prob is i was wondering.. if the head unit is going to chicken out on that big sub? haha or it doesnt matter since the amp is doing the job and how would it be like if i u hv a 15 inch down a back of a corolla hatch :S i think its bit too much but hmm managable?? hahah
  8. ah i see :D now thts heaps clearer! thanks ey wht i was confused was how to connect the amp.. so the inline fuse will go straight to the battery.. sounds good i will go round to straffield or super cheap to look for one of those :) so the remote wire from the amp will connect to the ignition wire on the HU? thanks :D
  9. hey jase, thanks heaps for the advise! haha doing it the 1st time is rather tricky :P hehe.. thanks for the help people.. hiding the wiring wont be much of an issue but it would be good to see how to feed the wire around the area, did u have to take your head unit out so u could connect all the cable? coz the one on B pillars were really tight (is there any way to loosen them up so i could cut and splice them easily.) another thing is im rather confused. i've heard the term remote wires quite a bit, i tried google searching it but it didnt help much hmm for the amp connecton .... 1. if i get the RCA converter i need to solder 4 wires? (do i need to do both side - left and right speakers? or can i only do one coz tht might be easier but i dnt know if tht would change things and its ok if i tap in to the back ones rite?) 2. take the head unit out? (find this bit tricky, need to find an extension to the "screw" thing, mine is simply too short to reach :P) 3. connect up the amp power wire to the HU? (if its needed..) should i do all cuttin n splicing behind the HU or some around the B pillars n some @ the HU? thanks :D kenneth * some pics would help a lot! Thankssss heaps! i will post pic along the way when i start on it :P
  10. oh nah.. im not going to pay 175 for tht.. hmm there is 125 on buy it now but yeh i was doubting it but yeh..another option is to get a saperate amp n sub (which i think i would do..) thanks neway :D hehe.. but connecting it all up to the head unit is gna be smething rather hard when i hv next to no experience with it :P
  11. @azza - i looked at the cables @ b pillars and they seems pretty tight and i wsnt sure how exactly to tap another cable in (incase i stuff up :S those cable are gone hahaha) looks liike a new challenge to me :P
  12. Hi there, I just bought this from ebay and all there is on the installation guide was Installation consists of a two wire hook up...Just connect the red wire to any 12-16 volt DC positive voltage source and the black wire to ground. You can hook them up to a switch to turn them on and off when you want, or wire them into your headlight wiring so they turn on when you turn your headlights on which wouldnt mean nething to a person that dont know his wiring/electrical tht well (well thts me) I was thinking that I would like to wire it up to the lights on top (the light tht turns on when u open ur door) so everytime i open my door the LED lights up but problem is i dont know where all the wire is and if i changed my mind on wiring it to the door lights and just decided to just use a switch to control it. I was just wondering where should i connect it to (where bouts are the wires and stuff) **i did take out the ciggy lighter bit and had a look @ the wiring - is on of the wire on there the ignition wire and another one is ground wire? Thanks you so much for your help :) Im still learning and hopefully next time :) i can start helping instead of askin for help :) Kenneth
  13. hey there dude, i did mine wit a sperate sub and amp but im sure with wat u got it doesnt matter, now with ur high imputs\outputs u need the plug that goes in2 that. now the + and - hooks up 2 the speaker wires jus connect post and neg up and it should work. U dont need a remote wire, well mine doesnt have it!! ok ummmm..... let me knw ill get bak 2 u more later unless someone has helped gotta go movies are starting so basically you saying that it would work if i connect up my speakers to the high imput? haha because i thot you needed a low input for a sub but yeh :) just wondering.. @Hsien - wht do u mean by remote wire and does the rca converter just converts the RCA from the sub so it would fit on to the stock head unit? thanks
  14. Hi there, Im thinking of hookin up a sub to my current stock head unit (03 corolla ascent). I would hv spent money on a sub and an amp (saperately) but i was thinking i only need it temp as i would save up for something better later (new HU,sub, amp n everything) so i came across this on ebay Sub with amp (Click here) I was just wondering if anyone know how to hook it up to the stock HU. It only has HIGH input/output and then RCA (which im sure the stock head unit wouldnt hv one of those). Any advice would be much appreciated! thank you! Kenneth
  15. hey there, i was reading through a few topic regarding resettig the ECU for corollas but i wasant sure if that is going to do much difference to the car. I got my car not long ago from a dealer so i presume the ECU would hv stored the previous owner's driving style and would it change the fuel economy if i reset it (either that or give it more power if i push it hard enuf) because i think im currently getting round 8.5L - 9L/100km and that is not that good for a corolla as some people are getting 7 - 8L/100km Sorry for bringin up an old topic Thanks :) and HI to everyone @ au.toyotaownersclub :)!
