  1. I've been told push rod needs adjusting by my mechanic too & the shifting from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd & so on will be smooth even when in high revs! I just haven't got around to it because of a busy schedule I have with summer units for uni & full time work. Probably book my mechanic in on the weekend & borrow someone's car while he does it. I guess I just gota learn to live with it aye..? Damn! :/ But for future reference, if anyone does ever want to change the stock transmission & clutch of the facelift sportivo, what would be the most ideal transmission & clutch?
  2. Hey! I've tried searching up on previous threads but couldn't find anything that can relate to the problem I've been having with my sportivo. Maybe I didn't look hard enough but here it is: Every now & again occasionally (not always), when I attempt to put it in 1st to take off, it doesn't go in (kind of like it gets stuck)! I have to put it back in neutral, let go of the clutch completely then press it in & then it'll go into 1st. Sometimes, even after doing this, it'll be a rough shift into 1st. This gets really frustrating at traffic lights because I have to keep it in first the whole time when at a stand still waiting for the light to go green! With reverse, same issue.. When I'm reversing out of my driveway or getting out of a parking spot, if reverse doesn't go in the first time then I do the same thing. Put it in neutral, let go of the clutch, press the clutch in again & then it'll go into reverse. Also when it comes to going from 1st to 2nd in lift, it doesn't want to get out of 1st so I've stopped hitting lift when taking off! (feels like it's stuck in first!) :( Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem please? Could it be the clutch pedal needs readjusting? Would the push rod need adjusting to fix this? Or is it better for me fork out $3k-$4k & get an after market transmission, clutch & flywheel installed? (I hope this isn't the best solution)
  3. The sportivo can enter my work car park without scraping! Bloody cheerin!! :D

  4. It actually is a my work xmas party & also an award's night so I gota be there. Next time for sure! :)
  5. Sorry but I can't make it. Completely forgot that I have a work function that same night!
  6. Damn.. I'm studying mining engineering lol. I'll probably find a mechanic eventually!
  7. You mean the member "123R-Prozak" can adjust the pushrod or there's a work shop called Prozaks yard?
  8. Yeah, www.carhistory.com.au is a great site to use! Also, the PPSR site gives you a full report on the record of the car. If you're in NSW then $18 will get a full report of the car from the RTA regardless which state it's registered in. Just the VIN & engine number is needed. It'll give you the list of it's previous owners.
  9. Would you know a good mechanic in the Sydney area that can re-adjust the push rod clutch & replace gearbox oil?
  10. To replace the sensors..? I can imagine it'll be expensive! :/ Can't get them off eBay or anything like that?
  11. Thanks for that! 7.30pm. Greenacre Maccas! Count me in! :)
  12. Hey everyone, I've got a bit of a weird problem with my '05 sportivo. Today morning, I turned my car on like usual & the fuel light came along with all the lights on the dash but it stayed o.. Funny thing is that I filled up a full tank of petty on Monday night on the way home from uni so I've basically got a full tank of petrol. The needle is working fine but the light stays on. I've read up on a couple threads about a similar issue & it seems it's the sensor on the fuel pump playing up. Would anybody know if this is true or can anybody point me in the right direction to get this fixed please? Thanks!
  13. That '03 sportivo you posted the link of has been up for sale for quiet a while bud. I'd look into it really carefully if I were considering buying it. When I started hunting for a sportivo back in january this year, that car had been up for sale. From January up till october, it was still for sale because in that time I was constantly on the look out for sportivo's on carsales, gumtree, trading post, forums & eBay! So just be careful with that car mate! Do as many checks as you can if you go to check it out.. I've always asked myself everytime I saw that car on carsales, "why is it still for sale?". I mean surely there's something different about it which is why it's still for sale!
  14. I'm having this problem with my 2005 sportivo corolla. The fuel light is on but I've filled a fuel tank of petrol! Any solution for this?
  15. 1st of December sounds good for me. I'll have my license back by then! :) I finish work at 3pm! What time's the meet up & where at? (I know it's been mentioned before in the thread but I'm on safari on my mobile & it takes ages to load a page.. bloody Optus!)
  16. Sorry, that was an over exaggeration in the rpms but you know what I mean when downshifting! :/
  17. lol it was far from standard though. Coilovers, struts, intake, headers the lot lol. think he had 16x8 XXR 521s as well. it had 115000 km on it though...which is a bit high for that price imo. he advertised it for $15.5k as stock. either way it's gone now so someone must've bought it either stock or for $17.5k with everything xD Ah fair enough then bud. This one bloke tried persuading me to buy his '03 stivo for $14k with 180k kms on the clock. He had coil overs on them, 18 inch kumho rims & he mentioned something about a sports after market gearbox so the crunching stops. Didn't end up buying it cos it was completely not worth it lol. what a joke! haha most of the high km ones are going for around $10k, especially pre-facelift models. even if the 2zz is still strong after 180k kms i certainly wouldn't pay close to $14k for one. would much prefer the one in your dp now, assuming it is your own car =) Yeah mate, the one in my dp is my baby. She's a '05 stivo. I honestly prefer that facelift model too.
  18. I know there's VG Auto Paints in Sydney but I'm not sure if they ship paints interstate. Give them a buzz. http://www.vgautopaints.com.au/

  20. My '05 stivo is starting to crunch when I downshift from 3rd to 2nd in high revs around the 7000-8000rpms range.. Clutch is completely fine though. I'm considering changing the whole gearbox & clutch since I've got my tax return back haha :) I've read up on the threads here about the clutch master push rod but will that stop the crunching for good? If it will then please recommend an experience mechanic that can readjust. By the way, any suggestions for a suitable after market gearbox & clutch for a '05 sportivo corolla? Cheers.
  21. you guys finish early! i don't start until Nov 9th >.> There was a white sportivo on carsales with painted headlights but it's gone now =( was going at $17.5k as well damn... $17.5k? Wtf? That's way too much for a sportivo mate!
  22. That looks mean mate! Are those wingtips on the rear spoiler? & how did you do blacken the headlights? Reckon you can give us a walk through please? :)
  23. It's going to be a great standout at night haha!
