  1. LoL Tats :ninja: #JZXsuperfriends

Been a while, was busy with work - then my daily needed an upgrade so got around giving the JZX some loving..

rear wheel wells + calipers = sprayed now...

    Also fitted this:

yeah I still gotta remove the plastic from it lol..

Was getting over the Work 11rs and after a fair share of OG lowballers and drainers - my good mate Troy (ICI QLD) came through once he saw my ad.

On my previous Chaser I had a TRD strut brace and kinda missed it.. came across a good deal and..

    what remains?

Not a whole lot to be honest.

    - Valve stem seals (still trying to find a place/person who I can trust to do with the head ON)

    - some smaller bits in the engine bay

    - Will need to put 225/40 tires for the front

    - Possibly powdercoat/paint the wheels to a charcoal grey

    Then game over ^_^

  2. I love your car man :)

Thank you man - I quite like the progress you got going on yours too ;)

good start to my Sunday - the only day I had off last fortnight >.< ...

err forgot to bring back caliper paint + other supplies for the remaining wheel wells LoL ...

I'm looking to move the Work 11rs on... 18x9.5+30 with 235/40 all round.. $1500 ! you buy NAO!?

This punk a55 was also picking up a set of Fortune coil overs..

    IMG-20130712-WA0026_zps323d2b94.jpg

Ofcourse I couldn't use the same bolts so got intouch with Amayama and new bolts + some other smaller bits on their way.
Wheel wells will get a nice tidy up and some fresh paint, as will all the calipers and hubs.. should sort the detail bits this weekend.

I really need to get my vvti solenoid replaced too, I've got a new one sitting here as the old one is leaking - I'm aware I could've got just the seal for that but I picked up the whole thing brand new for pretty cheap so meh. While inspecting the underbody noticed there's some really stubborn oil marks and I can't particularly reach in the areas so bought this steam cleaner.

So hopefully by end of next week it should be back on the ground and ready for new tires + alignment.

  4. Just when it seemed like car was complete, logic: take it apart all over again biggrin.png (waiting for Auto Fortune coil overs)

1stworldproblems the dash needles are so brittle.. I broke the plastic trim on the speedo I bought in attempting
to remove the needle.. the trim piece broke but the needle is fine.. so that speedo can be for experimenting.

My speedo has red needles which I believe is from paint - can't tell what paint exactly ?

    20130703_201520_zpsf36da107.jpg

    So
to keep uniformity... I swapped the speedo + rpm meter into mine as I much prefer the S1 white over S2 red/orangish.. I'll have to get the two needles to match up in red I'll be happy.

    20130703_202735_zpsb639caac.jpg

Here you can see I swapped them

You have no idea, how blissful it feels to drive now.. absolutely 0 noises from the front end..
My coil overs will reach NZ next week smile.png. Coils + new tires (sitting waiting at a mates shop) and that'll be the suspension done..

oh and finally I can has too! on it's way in the post

My aim was to have $0 spending on car in the new financial year.. seems I missed that target sad.png ah well #1stworldproblemo!

  6. Some daylight pics of the grill smile.png
    20130622_124900_zpsa0f378b2.jpg

Just need the front badge and that should finish it off the way I like.
    20130622_124910_zps0158dd4c.jpg

Incoming front end suspension refresh on Tuesday:
    - New oem tie rod ends
    - New hub components, seals, hub, bearings basically the entire hub replaced
    - Cusco upper control arms
    - New oem front brake dust covers
    - New oem ball joints

These bits will join the existing party which consists of:
    - Cusco swaybar
    - Cusco triangular bar
    - Toms front chassis braces
    - TRD caster arm bushes
    - High tensile bolt replacements

For anyone curious what about the rear.. that's already been sorted a while back
    - TRD diff bushes (4 piece)
    - TRD camber arm bushes
    - Ikeya cradle mount inserts
    - 501 works diff - chassis brace
    - KTS rear sway bar
    - Adjustable swaybar end links
    - Every single bolt replaced with either new oem or high tensile aftermarket spec.

I MIGHT consider silk roads camber/toe/traction arm set else I'll get KTS in the event I need such adjustments otherwise wheels sit fine as is and oem holding up solid.

  7. So as the ebay supplier turned out to be a headache... and I promptly sent the grill back as they agreed to refund me.

Was rather annoying but a fellow JZX forum member stepped up and became my hero when he sent me his grill.. dude didn't even let me pay postage...

    20130617_202844_zps98246229.jpg

and Jesse Streeter is the mof'n legend...

For the JZX - the Cusco arms, new chamois set, TRD shift knob and a Rasberry Pi board which I intend to convert into an obd reader..

  8. A while back I discovered detailparadise.com.au and I was fascinated by the work I saw there .. here are some examples naturally I HAD to get me some of that kinda exterior loving..
You can find a detailer for your area here

I met the detailer from the link above and due to his helpful nature and cool attitude towards car modding; I made it my aim to refer any and every possible detail request his way..
So far I've had my Civic done, my cousin has had 5 of his family cars done (sisters/parents) and Quarkz's ex-Chaser was also done by him.

As I was never 100% happy with the panels on my JZX due to the minor imperfections so I didn't go ahead and book in a detail .. that was back in 2010.. Now after having had all the imperfections removed from the main panels and sprayed.. it was time..

Today I went to drop it off and enjoyed a scenic drive..

and here I left it all snug
    20130611_170711_zpsea6ae1cd.jpg

I'll be picking it up on Thr evening / Friday evening .. possibly will get my other barge done too.

Do you like crusty badges?? nah I didn't think so - naturally Amayama you done it again!! <3 if you reading this Justin .. keep up the ****
    fantastic work..

  9. I made this guide for fellow JZX'ers but I don't see why you can't utilize it for other Toyota models too.. Obviously below example is with a JZX100

    Step 1:
How the hell do I even know what car part number I need? - REALLY EASY... there's a wonderful website called Toyodiy.com

You can create an account, the only reason I created is because I got sick of having to specify what kind of car I have each time.. when you have an account made, you can select and store your car model. It'll make sense as you read on ..

Simple to the point site as you can see in the picture below - we want parts, so lets select 'Enter parts catalog'

    Toyodiy-1_zps3df1c7e9.jpg

    Step 2:
Now this is where we start specifying what kind of car we have. Don't worry if you don't have your vehicle frame number, we can just use the categories to select our car. So click on 'Select your car' and follow the steps.

    Toyodiy-2_zpsa30d8017.jpg

As you can see, I've skipped the steps to show the individual choices I selected.. but they are listed there. Japan - > 1997 - > Toyota - > Chaser - > JZX100. As you select these options, the menus appear and choices keep getting narrowed down. It concludes at either Auto or Manual Tourer V.

    Toyodiy-3_zps583402c1.jpg

    Step 3:
Select your platform from step 2 - now you'll see the main categories for the various parts.

Now eg. I want a dashboard part..so let's select 'Body' and see what choices we have:

    Toyodiy-4_zpsa66a6d74.jpg

Sure enough, our dashboard parts are listed in there.. so let's get a closer look to see what's what:

    Toyodiy-4a_zps72436bb0.jpg

    Step 4:
Select the part and on the right hand side the part number is highlighted too, with a rough guide to how much it should cost.. bloody brilliant!

    Toyodiy-5_zpsd431f829.jpg

Now not only can you get the part numbers, but instead of damaging a car part, in your attempt to remove it or ' WTF won't this part come out RAGE' .. you can see from the diagrams where there's a screw/bolt or clip that might be in the way. Handy tip smile.png

We've got the part number, so 50% there ! and guess what? didn't need to call anyone .. didn't need to stay on the line waiting for someone.. DIY like a **** boss.. cool.png

Let's go say hi to our friends at Amamaya.com ..

Below I've already past the part number in the search field.. this website is also simple to use - it opens up just as below and a blank field to search the part number.

    Amayama-1_zpsa4e7c1cd.jpg

Next it will bring up the part availablity, how long to deliver, what price and where is it available from..

    Amayama-2_zpscce94537.jpg

Select the choice that suits you and book it in:

    Amayama-3_zpsf4a5c2df.jpg

I would NOT recommend this for overnight speed parts - I mean you can put that in the information when you fill out the form but I'm not a 100% its a suitable way to get a part if your car HAS TO HAVE the part tomorrow because you need to make it somewhere..

They are fairly busy but they always respond within reasonable time.. I've used Amayama for replacing all kinds of parts.. exterior, interior suspension etc etc

  10. Thanks for the positive comments ^_^

hit a bit of a snag.. the cf grille doesn't fit 100% .. should've known better than to buy off Ebay Hong Kong ... getting a full refund but ofcourse I need to cop the delivery fee back..

A fellow JZX100 mate has been kind enough to donate me a standard replacement.

I'll be getting my car detailed by https://www.facebook.com/autoglamour?fref=ts - this Wed.

Still pending new coil overs, front upper control arms and some smaller interior bit from Amayama. Should be ready for its feature photoshoot later this month :ninja:

  11. Hey Rob,

Thanks mate, I should've update the thread but you're right I realized the mistake I was making :P ..
