  1. Evan you haven't been fast enough on Nebo to see if they work :P Even with a S/C hahahahahaha Seriously some of you need to realise that COILOVERS are not meant for everyday use in a street car. They are designed for cars used for racing purposes on semi smooth surfaces such as race tracks. Why is it that Pillow mounts don't last a long time on coilovers that used on cars as daily drivers??? IMO a quality shock and spring combo is every bit as good as a set of coilovers to a point. That point is being able to adjust height and at 11/10's on a race track is where you may notice a slight difference. But how many of you are on a race track every other week?? Most of you spend more time driving on public roads in traffic so why not set your car up for doing what is does the most of the time and not the infinite minority of time around a race track?? You can set a car up with springs and shocks to handle every bit as good as a set of coilovers but they aren't the only things that need to looked at to make a car handle properly. Sway bars, camber/castor settings, corner weights are but a few other things that need to be addressed to make something REALLY handle.....
  2. I will be but a tad late. Have to go and get my back fixed as I hurt it again and have finally got an appointment to see my little friend who puts pins all over me and makes the pain go away. should be there about 9ish.
  3. CAI would have to custom made asthe production numbers of these things were quite small. PM Rol14 as she owns one and lives and breathes them.
  4. I will be out this week for the first meet of '10 97for come and pick up your secret santa pressie that i have!!
  5. I can supply either the whiteline rear sway bar or the Ultra racing rear sway and lower brace if you require them. I am now officially an Ultra Racing dealer in Qld and am happy to help TOCAU members out with stuff.
  6. Depending on how many k's your stock shocks have already done will determine how long they last with super lows. ZZE122/3 corolla's don't have a great life span running lows springs. somewhere in the vicinity of 15-20k on lowered springs on a car with relatively low km's on the clock is the norm. The higher the k's you have done the shorter they will last. KYB Excel G's are a good replacement for stock shocks to run with lowered springs. If you think the budget can stretch to afford springs and shocks for under 1K then well worth it. PM me if you would like more info and prices. cheers SB
  7. I use to drive it to it was almost bone dry! :P :P :P :P :P 61L 60L You should be good for at least another 100KMs once the light first pop up ;) Guni my Mrs did 109km on the fuel light!! Gave me a total of 791kms for peak hours traffic commuting!! I then got the job to limp to the servo for fuel!! Put 10mm shy of 63L in the Sportivo!! My guess is the only thing left in the tank were fumes!!!!
  8. Got the Hilux filthy dirty on some state forest tracks after some decent rain on the way to a remote waterfall and swimming hole. Washed a bit off with a few creek crossings and narrowly missed running over 2 snakes and 2 goanna's one of which was roughly 6 feet long!!
  9. Kings with the progressive rate spring will give you the drop you want with a nice ride. Downside is they are shut till mid Jan for hols. I have quite a few orders to place but have to wait D'oh!!
  10. My guess is that the springs are not sitting in the perches correctly and that the rubber sleeves that the springs sit on are in the wrong spot allowing the spring to touch the steel part of the perch on the strut body. This can happen especially in the front on the upper spring perch as these can be a pita to get right. Rears not such an issue as they sit on the steel perch on the bottom but have the rubber on the top. the fronts have the rubber sleeve/dust cover under the spring perch which locates on the notched part of the strut shaft, then you have the dust seal for the top bearing plates then the nut to hold it all together. I have seen the spring perch not located on the notched section of the strut which caused some pretty horrific noises when driving. Check all these things as they are really a simple fix but downside is you have to remove the strut from the car to check properly.

It's is roughly 120km's long which seems like a lot but there is a lot of open road to enjoy. It will take about 2 hours including stops. There will be 2 scenic stops along the way if the weather gods are good to us. Here is the directions of where we are heading... TOCAU Christmas Party Cruise Route directions Gympie Rd from city to Bruce hwy Take D’Aguilar hwy turnoff Follow D’Aguilar hwy to D’Aguilar Turn Left onto Mt Mee rd STOP at Lookout at Mt Mee Follow Mt Mee Rd to Dayboro Turn Right onto Williams St Left onto Bradley Street Bradley Street becomes Mt Samson Rd Left into Winn Rd Right onto clear Mountain Rd STOP at clear Mountain Rd Lookout Follow Clear Mountain Rd to the end Turn Left onto Eaton’s Crossing Rd Turn right onto South Pine Rd Turn Left onto Albany Creek Rd Turn Left at Hypermarket Turn Right in MacDonalds End Of cruise. 19. MMM Sounds like there are a few who have gone soft in the last little while eh ??LOL It certainly wasn't going to be a "timed" event so speed certainly isn't to be involved if you don't want to. I was going to go over some new roads for some of you but new roads and testosterone could lead somebody to go bye bye's very quickly so I wanted to avoid that do a nice run on roads most already know. If we all want to go slow I will lead and be in the hilux..... so prepared to be bored hahahahahahaha More info soon......
  20. So is this the final list?? i am letting the restaurant know numbers tomorrow!!

  22. Rice Racing I am going to warn you to settle down as some of your comments are certainly not warranted and are also in breach of the forum rules. Please refrain from trying to bring this forum into disrepute and please if you have a beef with you dealer please do not use this forum to try and justify your case to them as it only gives us a bad name if you are not acting in an appropriate manner. thank you SB

  24. I will chime in here and tell you that your car will lose power!! Shao did a back to back dyno at a few years ago with and without the rear muffler and putting the race pipe on and it actually lost from memory 3kw peak power and a fair bit more lower in the rev range. And yes it was loud like very loud on a sportivo. Hows 113db grab your ears LOL
  25. $20 is the price for the secret Santa Gift. I will give everyone who they are buying for a PM at the end of this week. that will give you basically 2 weeks to get something. Also for those bringing a friend the secret santa is for forum members only..... just makes it a lot easier this way. sorry if this offends
