Some interesting info.

Just wondering, when the car is in Sport mode do the gears change themselves when you redline it or do u have to shift urself?

as i remember when taking off the line in sport mode, you need to change the gears yourself. otherwise it will redline.

ive hit 220kmh fairly quick on nepean highway. took off from the lights and till 2 or 3 lights later i was hitting 220kmh. on my mates car which he owned a 2006 camry v6 sportivo we took it for a road trip and the limiter was on 235km/h so high chance that its the same on the aurion. 260kmh is definately possible on a straight for the aurion. but wheres the road to hit that speed? hehe

waiting to see this for the last 12 months. finally its released. 0 to 60 in 6.1 and 250kmh limited. 241 kw sounds awesome. only downside is the price and the interior. exterior looks awesome as ive seen the real thing. id only buy it 2 or 3 years later if they decide to make it with awd. but then again i would have my e36 m3. i guess time will show.

man i can't believe its up for sale... hmmm a 6second car for half the price of a ferrari... and for that u get an engine a tranny slicks and a body shell... wat more could u ask for :D

We pulled out an Aurion Dash yesterday as the Dash was rubbing against the windscreen causing a vibration noise...

So many creaks and rattles now with plastic dash parts...

Should go back to the days of soft vinyl dash tops with plastic facia pieces only...

My dash was squeaking and it was the Dash Display window, once removed and replaced it has cease, now I have a new sound from the body is creaking or twisting over uneven surface while driving, sound like the sun roof rubbers moving against the metal surrounding roof.

I thought i had some noise but that was from my car charger vibrating from the bass. nothing from mine :) thank *** ! :P

for those who say it gets retarted under heavy acceleration. yes but only in the wet. on dry road put your foot down from 0 and u get no retard movements in the car. very smooth. they said at the time anything over 175kw at the front wheels is ridicolous because of the retarded acceleration but if toyota has managed to fix that on the aurion, im sure they will be fine with the trd version as well.never saw my zr6 act weird on dry. only on the wet wen ı floored it. from take off, the traction control kicks in and backs up the car in the wet. if thats disabled lol wheelspins till 4th gear easy. its all good for trd. i hope they will make the trd perform just the way aurion performs. everyone is worried about those extra 40kws at take offs. i hope trd proves everyone wrong. because they have so far with the aurion having over 175kws and performing well.

Hi There,

Had my ZR6 for just over a month now and I'm loving it, however the dash makes a squeak or creek now and then when going over small bumps. I can replicate the squeak by pushing the dash behind the steering wheel. Sounds like the dash is in too tight and rubbing up again the window or something.

I'm wondering if it is caused by a detailing product that may have been used by the dealer to clean the windows or wipe the dash. Anyone else have this problem? I thought of using some sort of lube, but I don't want to make it worse or introduce any new problems. Anyone got any ideas?

i get a squeecky creeky dash noise sometimes in the mornings when the engine is running a bit cold apart from that, i never get it. if it does happen when going over bumps or when the engine is totally warmed up, then get it checked out because i normally dont get it. happens like once or twice per month. and plus you start hearing noises when you get the know the car really well so its just you maybe :P

I just order an Aurion Gold ZR6 about 3 weeks ago, they told me it will take about 3 MONTHS! till it comes in. Just wanted to know if anyone else waited this long or is 3 months the maximum amount of time I'll have to wait for it??

Also I saw somewhere on another topic/discussion that you could keep track of where your ordered car was up too, can someone tell me how to do that?

And finally how is everyone else finding their own Aurion at the moment, I have only seen about 2 or 3 on the road??

I ordered a Gold one, I did like the black but maintenance on a black car is just too much, silver was a bit too common as there are alot of silver cars on the road at the moment. The only thing that worried me was the resale value but seeing the Gold was the advertised colour of the car I didn't think it would be too bad, plus I love the Gold, each to their own I guess. The only down side was they said I had to wait for it to be built from the Altona Plant in Melbourne. I was a bit upset when they told me I had to wait 3 months for it because they had a black one on the floor and it was very tempting. So I opted to wait for the GOLD, but now it's killing me and it's only been 3 weeks!

Ok it has now so far been a month, I have just told them to add Tints(30%) to it, only cost me $200 so I thought why not. thinking about putting 18's or 19's on it but i guess that can wait. My brother-in-law works in the accessories department @ Toyota where the cars go once they have come in from the factory for the final touch ups. He tells me he hasn't seen mine on the computer yet but once he does it is usually two weeks from then that it is ready. i am hoping to get it before the October long weekend, as I will be heading up to Hunter Valley for the break and it would be nice to take it there for the drive. Can everyone please stop showing photo's of their cars, it makes the wait so much longer :(

looks nice but whats with the pipe??? it looks so dirty. it looks like a drainage pipe. is that pipe for the bass to travel towards the inside of the car?

oh ok thanks~ cause i checked the user manual but it just says to contact the dealer if the blubs need to be replaced.

so do i have to take of that carpety stuff on the boot? or do i just simply take off the clear plastic case thing where the number plate lights are?

are you going to change the bulb to a bluish style light? just askn out of curiuosity. no idea about how to change it as i havent touched a thing on mine yet :P

Personally I think anything over 20inch is to much.... like 22inch on an Aurion would look strange not to mention very impractical, you'd want to keep 4 spare tyres in your boot because every reasonably sized pothole becomes a potential blowout.

I agree, anything over 20" you will start to look like a "fullysick" guy. My preference would be a 19" but everyone has differnt tastes.

I agree as well. 20 max i say. Im trying to decide between 19 and 20 and want to go 20 but 19s will look big enough when you put it on low profile tyres and lower the car.

The ZR6 comes standard with the smart entry/start system.

It doesnt come standard with the HID kit, reversing camera, sun/moon roof and blue tooth.

However it does come with front and rear parking sensors as standard, also if you pay extra you are able to add the sat NAV system or Sun/moon roof.

As for the mods im not sure if there is anythin out for the aurion yet.

but i think u will be able to find lowering springs and a exhaust system for it.

^^ wat he said. for the aux ipod plug in there isnt one in zr6. not sure about presara but ım guessıng that doesnt have it either. zr6 and presara plays mp3s so no need for ipod. ı have one too and decıded to not plug it in because i have more than 5000 songs in it and by the time i find a song i want i will arrive at my destination lol.

Well i have had this issue 2 weeks into having my Aurion and it still is not fixed after 3 months.

Heres a copy of the email i sent to them..

My name is **** *****, I brought a Toyota Aurion about 3 months back and I have not been very happy with the service department.

The locking system played up about 2 weeks after taking possession of the car. I took it into the service department and your tech’s had a look and said they would have to order some parts in, I was told this at 5pm after not having the car for the whole day. It then took 3 weeks or so to get the part in (I understand this can take a while).

After bringing in the car for the second time something else broke and I got the car back after not having it for a whole day again. Then was told I have to wait for more parts.

Another 3 weeks. This week I brought the car in again and surprise surprise the problem wasn’t fixed but now I only have one working key. Again all day without my car.

I have been told again I will have to wait on parts. Now during this process I have not been told why these parts are not in stock, why it keeps happening and what the actual problem is.

I really don’t think the service department know either. They are just taking stabs in the dark replacing parts hoping they can find the fault.

I want this issue resolved and I really don’t want to be taking my car in every few months. Really I find it very inconvenient and rather disturbing that after waiting for this car for months that I have to go through this saga and the car is still not fixed.

To break down that whole email, the problem started when somthing in the locking system stopped working.. When my car locked it would not beep, only when it was unlocked.

Getting really angry when them. I talked to the GM of Toyota Darwin( i live in darwin) and i been promised it will be fixed next time it comes in or a new car is on the boards. Now i dont know if i want them to fix it Only got 5200kms on the clock.

Anyone else had issues with there Service department or there cars? And to think this is good service in darwin compared to Other companys (Holden local dealership are the worst never get anything done by them up here in darwin)

u wanna lower in the FASTER AND CHEAPEST WAY? take down the original spring, CUT the inch u wan off! For LOOK only, NOT for comfy, i tried before.

But i really recon, aurion's original suspension system is already quite stiff, if its lowered, will be stiffer, badd and very uncomfy... UNLESS, u get someone to custom make for it, do all the calculation and magic to make it lowered, STILL comfy...

I delayed my lowering and rim, coz of this problem...

But, for 18, the look is nice.

p/s: my idea is goin for 21inch?! wahaha

Lol damn now that will take some balls. 21 inch i believe for aurion is too big. Im goıng for 20s. Cant wait till i buy my wheels and get them installed.

How did you see a TRD aurion when they aren't released as yet? Also in your signature you have 209kw, what have you done to your aurion?

Mate thats why i was shocked. the car isnt released yet and i saw it without any coverings full on with registered plates everything. it was obvious that the guy jst got it new but how he got it before the release date i am not sure of. Maybe the guy was using the car for a commercial. Who knows but i did saw it bare naked. Looked stunning. He went towards my street so maybe he lives near me. Thats why im searching for it every day i drive towards my house lol. I was at the show when the aurion was revealed and one of the chief engineers from toyota said the engine itself was rated at 209kw/353nm on 98pulp. 204kw is reached with 95 pulp thats why it kinda makes sence that the extra 4 kw is gained with the 98 pulp. No mods yet. Also from dyno results for the engine output shows 204kw on 95 pulp. From 95 to 98 does have a signifant power rise so i believe its true.

If only aurion black was as good as the black in the 05 camry sportivo model. Thats why i got the gold. Simply i think its the best color for the car. Looks very nice under sunlight. I was originally going to get black but hated it when i saw it on the car. I think they kept it for the trd aurion. As pictures show the black trd aurion is a different.
