  1. I am waiting for the TRD version to be released - Only a couple of months away !!!

Will be selling the Sportivo Camry & Corolla to finance this Beast !!! - Cant Wait !!!

i wouldnt want you to think bad about the car but, so far from pictures, the interior of the trd looks cheap. also the red paint on the concept is different to the production version. wont pay 10 grand extra for little 25kw power up. i was going to buy the trd as well but nahh. that interior, just ruins it. i also believe they have ruined the front bumpers color coding unlike the concept version. the concept looks so much better. personal preference. i just want the rear bumper of the trd and add 20s. it will look mint. have i mentioned the wheels? wat a way to ruin a georgous car.

  2. I ordered mine in late february and got it delivered on 15th of May. Very happy with mine too. Love the color and power. Its only on 1800kms at the moment but i started to belt it a bit and the power is endless. Just needs an air intake, tinting and 20s. Im going to get the air intake custom and im going to get it dynoed before and after. When i do, i'll let everyone know the figures. By the way, does anybody have a weird sound coming from the rear speakers after 35-40 volume??? Myne buzzes and i hate it. Does anyone else have this problem? I cant seem to pump it too hard as the buzzing gets irritating.

  3. I have the Presara with the HID lights with auto leveliing and turning on cornering and they are great. Only issue is they make the high beam look yellow. So what do i need to do with the high beam? HID too? 6500k globes ?

there's no point of doing HID for the high beam. If you do put HID for the HID, you'll kill the bulbs more easily (especially when you flick on n off). Also It takes longer for HID to get to full brightness.

    yes that makes sense.

So maybe some of those blue tinted halogen replacement globes would make the transition from low to high look less yellow then.

yeh im going to the same for the high beams. all im scared of is killing the bulbs lol. hope they last long. is philips a good brand for those fluorescent blue lights???

  4. yeh i meant auto levelling headlights. i wonder how much presara headlights are. dads mate works at toyota. maybe can he fix me up. because i want them to autolevel :)

I didn't think toyota sells after-factoryfitted parts. I once asked if it is possible to order a ZR6 with HID and rain-sensing wipers, the dealer said no.

how can they say no. lol what an idiots. im going to go and ask myself as well. if they say no, im going to buy the headlights and install it myself. They should have made it an option on the zr6. stupiddd.

I agree with you - Toyota Australia should have made HIDs standard on the ZR6, even if the price wound up being $1000 or so more. When I ordered my ZR6 that was the only thing missing I really wanted too.

By the way, if you were to install the Presara HID lamps on your ZR6 or whatever - they wont work like a Presara. You may get the HID light - but definitely no vertical (levelling) or hozontal (peering around corners) light shape movement. Most OEM HID systems take input from a level sensor under the rear floor for 'vertical' and the steering wheel angle sensor for horizontal. Of course the steering wheel angle sensor doubles as an input to the VSC system as well- so its in all Aurions already.

An ECU then drives two lamp lens motors based on these 2 sensors. In the Presara the ECU is not in the lamps.

Thanks for the information buddy. Well it looks like i wont bother with the presara headlights if its gonna be too technical. To be honest, im thinking now, as long as the lights are appearing hid from the outside and appear well for the driver at night, thats all it matters. The way it autoturns into the corner etc, not really necessarry i guess. I went to autobarn and found a hid kit for 170. A brand called narva. Might get that, but do not know anything bout the brand. Whats are the very good brands in hid kits????

  5. dumb questıon numba 2. lol this thread is funny thanks to me. we all know how stock hids auto-level and *****. does the aftermarket ones autolevel as well or is that the design by toyota itself???

    do aftermarket HIDs autolevel?

it would be great if they do, but they don't.

hmm...ok you guys are confusing everyone here.

HID is the Bulb or the KIT, and there is no such thing as Auto-Leveling HID. There is such thing as "Auto-Level Projector headlights". Auto-level is built into the Projector (on most new cars). So another word, the Bulb doesn't move around, but the Projector does (not the headlight).

all the aftermarket Projector Headlights don't have Auto-Leveling, you can built one yourself (just get a pair of auto-level projectors and replace the stock projectors) :)

  6. My ZR6 is aurora gold and my colleague's cyber green.

    To each his own.

I can't agree with you more my friend. Everyone has different style and taste, that's what makes us unique. Could you imagine if we all had the same car and colour. No way. I actually like the gold, it has a touch of class about it. We went for the red for a more family feel. As you said to each his own.. :yahoo:

i bought it in gold because its the original presentation color of the car and i believe it looks best in gold. I was dissapointed with the red as i loved the color of the trd aurion and its obviously not the same red and the black doesnt bond well so i chose the awesome gold. :) but we can not judge colors ay? :) as long as we are happy with our cars, thats what matters. All aurions look good :)

  8. tats is A LOT OF look... i hate reading... well, i think it talks bout power supply issue... but, for 2 yrs, my hid kit still working, car still runing... so does it matter with/without relay? i didnt put relay coz i hv no idea how to put it in...*shame

yes, my car is 2 years old as well and my hid is working fine w/o relay.

Sorry guys but ı dont know what you guys mean by relay. Also when i install a HID Kit, does it have auto level feature? I want blue/whitish but not full blue just slightly blue color mainly bright white. Would 6500k be enough for that result?

  9. you need to buy the whole HID KIT.

6,000K or 6,500K HID is probably what you want to get. 8,000k or 10,000K (I've got & tried all of them before) they're nice blue/whiteish. Just need to know that when you're buying a HID kit from eBay you need 2 Relays (as they're not included in the package). Installation should take around an hour, if you can't bothered doing it, labour should cost $150.

Fukk lol i knew i needed a kit. Yeh im going to get 6000k or 65000k as i want blue/whitish. I spoke to autobarn guys and they are offering a pack of 2 for 175. But im not sure about the brand as they are made by NARVA . Btw these kits dont auto-level when driving do they? I can be bothered doing it if its an easy installation. Im good with electronics and i hope i can manage to install em properly. I only need to take the bumper off if im changing the fog lights right???

  10. Guys, ive decided to switch the halogen bulbs inside the front projector style lights to HID 6000K. However, what i am trying to figure out is that, by changing simply the bulb to HID 6000K bulb, will it work? Or do i have to change the whole electrical light system altogether to get the HIDs working. Does anybody know how to get that changed or installed? I look at the presara's and the only thing appearing different is the bulb inside the projector and that it autolevels when driving. Im confused as i dont know if i need to buy the whole hid kit or just the hid bulb. Any advices???

  11. And don't go hiding mobile phone headphones in there, they can get caught/jammed the cover...

luckily i got it out and is working again.

I bet something like this has happened with the black plastic cup holders being removed and not put back and the lid jammed shut on them in factory or predelivery.

    Whats the bet???

Who knows what really happened. As long as the cars new, toyota should take care of it instantly. İts only a cup holder cover, im sure its easy to fix. :)

  12. It's official, the powers been limited to 232kw. Looks like disappointment after disappointment for this car. Oh well, hopefully it drives well!

232??? thats so crap. Thats only 25 or so more kws from the normal 2grfe. Damn shame they had to limit it to that power figure as i guess they realised that the front tyres wouldnt be able to cope with more power than 232kws. I reckon its all marketing strategy. Im guessing they are first going to roll it out in fwd and then if it goes well they will make it awd 3 or 4 years later. They did the same with the rx8. rx8 was based on rx7 and they were only going to produce new generation rx7 if the rx8 sales went well. rx8 went well according to their market goals and rx7 is on its way. i hope it becomes the same case with the trd aurion. awd is needed on that car.

  13. My new Presar fron cup holder cover is jammed. you press lightly to release and it doesn't flip up at all never has not from the showroom. Anyone know the trick to fixing or releasing this or is it faulty?

mate its probably faulty because ive got no problems in my zr6 as i jst got it 1 week ago and everything works. Get it checked out at toyota. İ say its faulty. it has to open up when you press lightly to release it.

  14. Doesn't look like any convincing will be needed, since Toyota is gunning for a completely different market rather than the V8 Falcadores.

Exactly. How could you compete with a V8 RWD, with a V6 FWD? With the TRD Aurion they say you feel the power in normal street driving, not just high up.

Yes i felt the same thing. My zr6 feels like its got power in all range of rev levels. Love the power of it too. Though i didnt have the chance to gun it hard as the car is only on 400kms at the moment. :) Love it.

  15. Thanks boys. İm glad you guys liked my new baby. However we all know the 300c hemi is a crazy car too. I dont know what you guys dont like about it. Aussies are very lucky to see the 300c in this country for its price as they start from 110,000 euros in europe. I strongly suggest the test drive for the guys that dislike it. :) This weekend we took both cars to shopping. Bought and installed a bentley grill to the 300c. Also got uconnect done on 300c. The aurion is getting the blue fluroescent lights for the front lights and getting the hid's changed to higher 6000k bulbs for brighter and blueier appearance like the bmws and audis. Can not believe toyota didnt put high quality hids for the aurion zr6. Damn shame but it only had one thing missing from perfection and that was the brigher hid's. after the hid installation, i will keep you guys updated with new shots of the lights. Ill post the 300c pics too later on if you guys desire. Thanks for the warm comments :)

  16. Has anybody been dissapointed with the front headlights? For me they appear too yellowish and are not bright enough. I need HIDs asap. Apart from that the car is a beauty. The rear speakers make funny noises when bass is too much. I guess its because of the plastic bits touching the speakers. Its really irritating as i can not push it over 30. Love the asl feature too. Ill post pics soon.

I reckon the lights are fantanstic, give very good vision. Don't know what the problem there is. My lights appear to be very white, no yellow at all.

Haven't really tested out the stereo yet as generally have the 14 month old in the car with us, so no point. Really how often do you need to have the music on that loud?

Saw the photo's of your car, looking very nice. Will post mine soon too. Hey, you don'y need to wait 5000 km to push your car either. These engines are bullet proof, 500-1000 km will be fine, trust me.

Thanks buddy, yeh im just scared that something will go wrong with the engine before 5000kms. I know they are very bulletproof but still want to wait atleast 2000kms. İts only on 295kms at the moment. The stereo sounds very clear but the bass sends a funny noise to the back window or plastic bits that create a funny sound at high level. The lights do appear bright when im driving but when im outside and the lights are on, the main headlights look kind of yellowish. Fogs are fine. :) Can you also take a photo of yours when the lıghts are on so i can see if they appear the same. :) Cheers, Buri :D

  17. do you think 20" would fit on the aurion?

be interesting to see those chrome pimp'in wheels on an aurion

hahaha p.i.m.p. i would also like to see this. who will be the first?

Im considering bigger wheels also. Trying to decide between 19 and 20s but i believe 20s will be too big for the car and destroy the driving feel of the car handling wise. 19s are good looking on it as ive seen one around. Ive got about a month to get the new wheels. Still trying to decide which one to get. Does anybody get that weird plastic buzz noise from the rear speakers when the stereo sound is over 30??? Its really irritating.
