  1. Ok... I've been thinking to make a custom key.... then I've thought to try and hold and turn the key right upwards... because I just did not feel like raising and lowering the engine . So if you hold your key in that position you will have a good chance to turn that bolt!!! I did not replaced the gasket, to me it was like new. I was very surprised by the amount of ATF I got out, very surprised... The new filter I filled with ATF, just to soak the paper, which is inside and drained the rest back. I will put back 3.25L plus 50ml extra as that's how much it is probably was around the pan and the drain bucket.
  2. Ok I got the pan, down just now, all together with the filter, I got 3.25L of ATF it is above 2.8L. What should I do, put back 3.25L or 2.8L ???
  3. When we pour back ATF, where does it go, to the transmission itself or back to the pan?
  4. How would they do it at Toyota service, in the same way as us :)) ? Now I can see that actually not many people have done it, taking off the transmission pan in Aurion :) And I also think that my chances pretty low at the moment unless I get some kind of a low profile spanner. I was thinking if you can insert another nut on top of this 10mm bolt in order raise it up a bit and then take it off with the spanner from the side...
  5. The spanner just doesn't hold a good grip, due to the round edge of the pan
  6. Ok, you need to tell me exactly which small/compact 10mm ring you are talking about because I just can't open it... I think we should have a proper workaround for that bolt, maybe there is a special key which can get through easy. From the drain plug I could only get 1.6L,
  7. Was just about to remove the wheel arch and stuck on this fastener: What is the best way to take it off?
  8. I personally would go with LEDs, in my opinion if you blind other drivers, the lights you installed are illegal but if they are not you are good to go, the lights should have perfect ✓ I may recommend these led lights: H11 LED HEADLIGHT KIT: http://www.xenondepot.com/2013-camry-h11-led-kit-p/2n6t-0000-h11-led-kit.htm https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-Arrival-R3-40W-4800LM-H4-H7-H11-9005-9006-LED-Headlight-Conversion-Kit-With-Free/32547936209.html?spm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.284.RbKDGD https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2016-NEW-H8-H9-H11-55W-5200LM-LED-Headlight-Kit-P6-LED-Head-Lamp-Lighth-Bulb/32724330120.html?spm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.515.RbKDGD But if you still want to get HID kit then this is very popular among US Toyota owners: http://www.xenondepot.com/2013-camry-h11-hid-kit-p/2n6t-0000-h11-hid-kit.htm http://www.xenondepot.com/2013-camry-d4s-hid-bulbs-p/2n6t-0000-d4s-hid-bulbs.htm
  9. I think the ones you got are made in China. What exactly did you buy? Give us a link from SCA...
  10. Ok, if you want Japan made, make sure you ask them first where it is made. They may look the same but made elsewhere. For that price sold in Australia and made in Japan, I would be very surprised :) You go by the size: 26" inch 650mm and 16" inch 400mm just as on the photos above NWB I more likely will be getting refills, at the moment my wipers don't make any noise yet. And if they will be very bad or very noisy then I will get a full new blade set. Only if they are sold for a very good price. I don't like to overpay for all these spares.
  11. As far as I'm aware, unfortunately no, it is not sold in Australia. They just rebrand them under different names and sell them at double or triple price, that's how they make a profit. Maybe it is available at some online overseas shops... But now you know if it is made in Japan it is made by NWB :)
  12. Ok, if you want Japan made wipers, head down to SCA for "Tridon Curve Blade", they also have Tridon made in China. These wipers are very likely made by NWB which makes OEM wipers for Toyota/Denso and many others car manufactures. They also make under their own brand but I don't think it is available in Australia. The price for two NWB blades costs around $40. In Australia as you can see it is $40 for a single blade.
  13. Just make a short video and let us see and hear your wipers sound.
  14. 5w-30 Castrol, I stock up only when it comes around $30 or less. Last time I paid $50 for 10L. For my next oil hunt I will be looking out for 5w-30, 6 litre. However 6 litre does not go on sale often and even if it is on sale the discount is very small.
  15. Sorry, the wipers are made in Taiwan, if you will not be happy with them it is always easy return with BigW, just keep the original receipt.
  16. just make sure to check the back side of the package, to find where they are made, because some made in China as well, under the same brand... These Aunger silicon wiper refills should be made in South Korea just double check, please.
  17. I can recommend silicon wiper refills from BigW made in South Korea, priced at $12 The best wipers you can get are the ones made in Japan then Korea, Mexico and China at the end.
  18. What do you do with used ATF, can I drop it off at Supercheap Auto? If you need to stock up some more ATF now is a good time it is just $30 from SCA if you follow the trend right you don't need to spend more than $30 for quality synthetic oil fluids. Usually good sales come around September each year.
  19. I just came across a transmission schematic diagram with all the part numbers for GSV50R, hope it will be helpful to someone....
  20. My ultimate plan is to remove the pan drain and scrap all ATF then measure and hope it will be around 2.5L - 2.7L, replace with a new filter. Then pour back around 2.7L or the same amount I got in the drain bucket. Take the car for a drive and make sure i don't exceed 2.8L of ATF. Hope that it will do the job.
  21. Thank you. I will scrap as much ATF from pan as I can :) As far as I can understand, the basic rule of thumb is to stay within the limit and do not exceed 2.8 liters.
  22. What do you do for that, do you use a special wrench?
  23. Ok, thank you, that's a good point to know. I just been thinking, if I drain approximately 2.6l to 2.8l with removed pan and new filter and then I put back the exact same amount of ATF. Do I still have to go through the ATF oil level check by changing the gears and adding 200ml at the end? I thought that all that procedures can be avoided by replacing the same amount you take from the ATF pan. Am I missing something? What do you do with the new ATF pan gasket, is it necessary to grease it with oil or something else as you do for the engine oil filter? ---- I also have question for the engine oil change :) I came across that engine oil has has a density of ~850g/L and it is more accurate to use 0-10kg scale and do measuring by weight instead. With that assumption my last oil change was 5.2 liters, (I did with a measuring cup and pour 6.1L) but if take into account the oil density then I would need add an extra 900ml to get to 6.1 liters.
  24. I just wanted to ask you a few questions about the transmission fluid change. - you change 2.8 liters of transmission fluid is it including the new filter change as well? - when you take 2.8 liters do you go through 45 degrees process of heating the transmission first? - what if I add 100ml less or more, will it do much harm to the transmission?
