  2. installing clutch and gearbox on Thursday. flywheel on and torqued up: clutch aligning tool: old rear main seal: behind the seal: new seal: damos SST seal install kit: before i degreased the box: after i degreased it: then i used some "ali king" to bring back the aluminium.its some special cleaning stuff that you spray on it and it foams up taking the **** off it..its like some sort of acid.
  3. got my clutch on wednesday. boss gave me this: clutch and machined flywheel:
  4. cleaned the injectors about 2 weeks ago.1 of them was a bit dicky, the spray pattern wasn't consistent with the others but it still flowed the same so im going to use it for now until i upgrade them.
  5. drivers side headlight looks to be brand new.the bumper is awesome condition aswell. i got as far removing the timing belt covers and the front bracket that has the air con, power steering pump and alternator. so many brake lines..most of them go to the ABS pump. i found these in glovebox aswell. aftermarket exhaust at one stage.pity it wasnt the extractors. can anybody translate this for me? has some funny cartoon pictures my mate being a tool LOL will have to pull the inlet manifold off in order to change the waterpump..will do that tomorrow.i mostly cleaned the workshop up today..crap everywhere.
  6. will have some more pics tomorrow..
  7. cheers mate..there awesome little cars for what they are. well my alarm shat the bed about a month ago and drained my battery so i had the auto sparky around the corner from my work install a Autowatch 446RLI alarm system..i should have done way earlier, im so happy with it.the halfcut should be here within the next 2 weeks.i plan on installing the ae101 dash aswell instead of the ae92 i was going to do..so far: ae101 LSD 4AGZE halfcut: $2300 water pump (Genuine): $119.08 (trade) rear main seal (NON-Genuine): $11.40 (Toyota wanted $49) Dayco timing belt kit: $82.00 still need a clutch kit (recommendations?) and supercharger oil..things like coolant and oils i get from work..there are some good things about being a mechanic!!
  8. that 4age turbo manifold is ACE!! i want one..top job 1ZZ-FZE and rollamods.
  9. ae101 GZE LSD halfcut coming soon
  10. yeah im doing auto mech..like i said if you guys need anything PM me and il see what i can do..i park across the road from the train station.
  11. i got to carlisle tafe on wednesdays..but that wasnt mine.
  12. gday ron..i love the car mate!! coming from a bloke who loves his 8-2s i really like it.
  13. well its not MY workshop but i work there..and if you guys want some work done PM me and il work something out.anyway i think the guys name was Ross or something.
  14. so who has the white corolla sportivo that was in my workshop today for brakes?? CE 11 WA i think the plates were.
  15. yeah im not a fan of those stoopid torsion beam rear ends..even from factory the camber and toe angles are way out of spec..ive installed new ones and its been worse than the one i just replaced!! anyway i got some of my LONG term project for the car ae92 dash:
  16. i always wanted to take the door protector strips to give the car a much smoother look so i bit the the bullet.yesterday was pretty much just getting the black adhesive strip off and to day i removed the glue. glue removal..i tried Acetone, Wax and Grease remover and Methylated spirits.out of the 3 the Metho was the best to remove the glue.what it looked like after (still need to cut and polish) :
  17. i really hope you reconsider a swap for a 300zx..they are buckets of ****!! i once thought they were okay cars until i did rocker cover gaskets on one..now i hate them with a passion..but rx7 and 180sx are nice cars and have a lot more aftermarket parts for them and are very easily upgradeable in comparison to a 300zx or get a ae82 GZE
  18. yeah i used a ACL when i rebuilt the motor and not even 10,000kms done and it leaked oil under the dizzy area..i thought it was the dizzy but i rebuilt it when i did the motor..i only used a standard Toyota head gasket..i would've liked to have used a TRD one but i already had the Toyota one.i was going to use a Cometic MLS but was skeptical as i have already skimmed the head and block..it runs way better now..thanks for the comments :)
  19. my head gasket blew out on me not even 10,000km after i rebuilt the motor NOT HAPPY stoopid ACL crap!! so i used a Toyota head gasket and ARP head studs: and here is a pic of the modification you have to do to the dizzy because it interferes with stud (its a bit blurry sorry) basically you have to grind away the end of the dizzy shaft on a bench grinder because it is a very strong metal:
