  4. it could possibly be a defect able item in the same fashion as a turbo timer. i have seen remote start cars go over curbs and shrubs before..its pretty funny.

  12. it depends on alot of things, how hard you drive it, the condition of the engine and cooling system, the weather..mine in winter usually stays a bit below middle, in summer it generally hovers around the middle and rises up a little bit in traffic.
  13. This was done on a ae82 but its mostly the same for other corolla models.i scored the swaybar from "BRAD" from the twincam.info forum for $200 delivered. WHAT YOU NEED: Screwdriver set Socket/ratchet set. Die grinder/hole saw/drill Pen/marker/ruler Allan key set Adj. wrench Beer METHOD OF INSTALL: 1. Remove the top plastic trim covering the strut top mount 2x screws, 3x10mm bolts. Fold the back seats away and if you can, remove the parcel tray 2. Take the mounting off the strut brace (if you can) and place it on top of the plastic and roughly mark out where the hole would be using a texter or pen or some **** 3. With your die grinder (or drill with hole saw bit) start cutting away at the plastic. You dont need to cut much away, just enough so the mount will stick through. I used a die grinder with a metal bur for this. 4. When you think you have it lined up, take the 3x 14mm strut top mount nuts off and test fit the bracket. You will need to jiggle and bend the plastic a little bit to get in there. If it doesn't line up keep grinding/drilling until your happy with it. 5. Bolt the brace bracket in place (dont be shy tightening the mount nuts back up) and do the same to the other side. When you have mounted both of the brackets in place wind the adj. mounts on the BRACE all the way in and test fit the brace to the brackets. If your happy with it then bolt the brace to brackets and tighten the adj. nuts on the bracket (i used a adj. wrench). You will need a 15mm OPEN ENDED spanner and either a 6 or 8mm allan key to bolt it up. 6. Install the plastic trims/parcel tray/seats and tidy any left over markings/plastic remains etc. And MOST IMPORTANTLY have a beer and go and fang it around some corners ;) *PLEASE NOTE* If you have a strut brace where you cant take the brackets off from the actual brace (Ultra Racing Australia) then you will need to remove the plastic trim to cut the hole for the bracket (which may involve removing the back seats) or cut a slot in the trim to fit it.
  14. i have had 3 ae82, 4age engine version..so much fun and very reliable, although they are not late 90's. i work on alot of toyotas and they are very good cars.
  15. BMW- B M trouble you ford backwards- driver returns on foot toyota- the one you ought to avoid (or acquire) holden- hope our luck doesn't end now. fpv- fooked performance building
  16. same goes for tyres to make sure they get rotated I had heard with the oil filter that it is an idea to put your initials other wise "we put that mark on it when we were doing stocktake, of course it was changed over" I can vouch for this one my brother in-law was shocked to find the passenger side scuff plate missing from his HSV after he dropped it off for a service, they had used it on some one else car this happened to me once.the guy marked his spare wheel.he still said that i didn't rotate his tyres.so i told him to *****..fair enough if he wants to mark it but dont accuse me of not doing my job, mind you i dont work at a crappy dealership
  17. mechanical speedo. can somebody explain how to go about wiring this in? i think what to do but want confirmation first.
  18. putting the selector cables and clutch line etc. back on i notice that little square piece was worn down one side so it may be causing sloppy shifter feel, i just turned it around to anew side. wiring, i hate it. getting the supercharger pulley back on in the car.wasnt as bad as i thought. got all the accessories bolted up, front of the engine is pretty much done. both the looms.yuck. still need to make up a crossmember for it..will be doing that during the week sometime.found a mechanical speedo sensor aswell.
  19. Thursday nights efforts..will be making the cross member fit tomorrow and start bolting stuff up to it.
  20. thanks guys, yeah its my custom GFB I/C :D well the motor should be sitting in the bay by this Friday.i've been waiting and waiting for near on 6 weeks for smaller supercharger pulley but i've given up on the guy..so i'll just use the factory one for now..i would like to think it will be about a month and a half away buy depending on what pops up during the dash conversion it may be a bit longer..
  21. engine bay painted: test fitting intercooler:
  22. yeah i know ay, i was expecting it to be at least $150 but i guess it doesn't take them long when i was the one who masked it all up for them.all they have to do is mix it up and spray it.i was happy with how it turned out after we cleaned it but i guess while its all out may aswell get it done..
  23. test fitting the 2 chassis mounts.i knew the timing cover side would fit but we were just testing to see what needed to be done about the gearbox side.we ended up fitting the original C52 gearbox mount to it.only 1 hole doesnt line up on the bottome half of the bracket. i was going to paint the engine bay myself but i went to ask the guys at the panel shop next door the best way to go about and they said they would do it for $50.SOLD!! all i had to do was mask up, using there stuff to.so Monday i will get it back ready to go.
  24. thanks for the replies: hahaha 47 bucks for a rear main seal. i would have gone light weight but heard and read bad things about them on GZE so i just didnt bother with it. i removed the motor last night.having withdrawls already..i didnt have my camera so i took these this morning.cleaned the bay up because i wanted to paint it while it was all out.
  25. if the charge rate is 11.2V there is something wrong with the alternator and i highly doubt that a blown dash bulb is going to cause it to not charge properly.
