  1. Any idea id the celica axle and the sportivo/runx axles are the same. There are some nice uprated ones for the celica in the US.
  2. I have the cams installed and you do feel lift come in. The cams make the car so much torquier below 6200 that the change over is alot smoother. I do believe on the other hand thow that its possible to rev to redline without the cams kicking in. I remember driving the car hard when cold and the cams never came in as well another instance where i launched the car on the limiter and the cams didnt come in. Do the video and lets see. It could also be that your lift bolts need changing. When mine we worn lift was inconsistent. I would test on 1st and 2nd gear thats the 2 most violent lift changeovers from a feeling POV.
  3. Does anyone know what the original speaker sizes in the Sportivo/Runx front and rear are? Looking to replace my set up.
  4. Hey guys did a very quick video of my car taking a pull from about 2500rpm to redline in 2nd gear to show what the piper stage 2 cams bring to the table in the low-midrange and above. Ecu is stock and exhaust is still stock but u can see it pulls alot harder than stock. I think it should have been this way from the factory. Hope you like, the video quality is a bit bad but i was trying to drive and take it. I will do better in the future.
  5. Does anyone know if the DBA rotors for the sportivo will fit the RUNX? Is it the same brake system between the 2, pads and rotors?

  8. Did a search and came up with these bride part numbers Part Num.: T187RO (Left N/ZZE12#) Part Num.: T188RO (Right N/ZZE12#) Cant confirm which seats these work on thow.   9. Hello, does anyone know what sort of sport seats will fit a Runx? Looking at recaro and sparco as they are sold in the US but all they have listed as usual is the 03 plus corolla which i assume will be the same but i would like your advice on seats that fit our rides.
  10. Hi guys, anyone have a copy of the ecu wiring diagram for a 2001 runx z 2zzge? I am looking for someone to make a Power FC harness to work with my car and DD performance say they need that in order to make it. If anyone has any suggestions on people that could make one for me that would be awsome. Spoke to Super Dave and he is a bit busy at this time to handle it.
  11. The usual cause when cams are changed is due to the VVT gear not being locked correctly during the change over. Regarding OBD, it's a system where diagnostic equipement can be plugged into the car and various sensors can be monitored. Took a good look at the 2 videos of the 2 runs and the 2 graphs and i think its very possible that the vvl didnt kick in as aggressive in the 2nd run. I think the ecu must have tripped out because up to this morning i ran the car hard and vvl is definitely kicking in aggressively, not only do you hear it but u feel it. There was an instance once when i launched the car and wheel spin sent me to the limiter and when the car got traction it came back down to 6200 and lift never kicked in and im told this has happened before to other people. I wonder as i did both runs one after the other within seconds if the ecu went mad. lol.
  12. If the VVT wasn't working properly what would be the cause of that? Stupid question but whats an obd2 scanner?
  13. The runs were done back to back about a minute apart.The vvl is working, but maybe as i hit the revlimit so close to each other it freaked out. I felt it kick in many times since the rebuild and its def working its just not as much as an on and off switch since the cams.
  14. So to give a disappointing update, i went up on the dyne and only managed to put down 160.88 which was to say the least shocking. My friends fielder which has a free flow exhaust with no cat on a good stock engine did 158. I have no idea whats wrong im sure dyno's don't go crazy and the car feels nothing like 160. I went back to have a look at the graph that monkeywrench has for a stock engine with pier stage 2 cams and they made 17 whp at 8000 so i really don't understand. Maybe the fact im running a stock exhaust with stock cat is holding me back, maybe the ecu cant handle it and is running too rich and thats why im having idling problems. All in all the car is much quicker than the fielder even taking into consideration the 200 lbs diff. I will do exhaust and see what happens. Any ideas would be helpful :) I have attached 2 graphs the first is my run (scott) the second is an overlay of the fielder (ryan) and mine (scott). You can see i did make like 5-15 hp more than him at points but the top is almost the same. I wonder if the ecu started to back off timing as i was about to hit the speed cut?
  15. The fact that it has been fine since the battery terminals were cleaned to me indicates it was either (shock horror) dirty battery terminals, or they were a little bit loose. I've had a car struggle and then fail to start, or turn the accessories on but then die when you turn to start, and it was simply the terminals - both alternator and battery were in perfectly fine condition. Thanks ill monitor it. When we checked the battery it was a little under charged so i put it on the battery charger to get a goo indication of whats the deal.
  16. So im driving home the other day in traffic and my battery light comes on, then as i get on the power it goes out then off the power it comes back. So i reach where im going and turn of the car. When i come out to go home the car wont start. So i get a jump start and go home. In the morning i jump it again and go by my mechanic. He measures the volts on the battery as 13.8 so he says the alternator is charging and cleans the battery poles. we shut the car off and it starts normally. It has started normally since then. WTF is that. Could my alternator be going? Will the yankee alternators fit the RUNX.
  17. Are you sure that will fit? I went onto toyodiy and had a look and it looked different but it could just be the angle of the diagram. Have you fitted any of the us ones and if so could you give me the part numbers?

  19. Hey guys wanted to give an update. The car is back on the road and the initial break in is done. No sure how much power the car is making yet but its a whole different car. The car still has about 800 km to break in and loosen up but its really a great driving car now. The car really accelerates amazingly after 3000 rpm. As we would all know there is normally a lack of response in the midrange up to lift well the cams really make a massive difference in that area. In lift is more aggressive but the changeover is less dramatic as the car pulls very hard throughout 3-6000 rpm. I will say we could not get a belt so far to work with the 2 MWR pulleys and if you are using the RUNX alternator you will have to machine a little bit off the pulley for it to work. When we get this sorted i will update. I also fitted the TEIN SS Coil-overs from the zze130 US model corolla (thanks to orrock for the advice) so they actually fit. I will update further once we go on the dyno. I still have some more work to do in the future like full exhaust and a PFC, but ive run out of funds for the time being. :) Please check the facebook below for the updated pics.   20. Im not too sure but i was going to buy a 2.25 in and just swap out the oem unit for a maganaflow. The oem pipe is 2.25 i think.
  21. Boy do i agree, but with the parts i have in there now at-least if i were to do that again it would take it. My plan is to build it stronger 2zz, no oilpump problems no more bent valves.
  22. Yep coming into a corner overtaking a honda civic with a b18C way too hard and started to throw gears. saw 9000 in 3rd 9000 in 2nd and that was the end of it. The final straw was racing another civic hatch in a drag and beat him 3 times. On the 4th run i went to chuck 5th and went into 3rd for a split second then clutched down and that was that. Dont drink rum and race.
  23. I agree 100% but thats more money to spend again and also im a little worried about the tuning expertise here in trinidad. Most guys that tune do subaru's and evo's not NA. i want to do some research before i start to mess with tuning. But how much you want for it thow :) I will need a conversion harness as well.
