  1. My mechanic said the original joints were a bitch to get out, but once they were out the energysuspenaion stuff wasnt very difficult to get in.
  2. Ok so i got my car back and i can officially say that the energy suspension poly bushings made for the corolla 03-06 fit our cars. The verdict, the steering feel has improved by a good bit. It takes at least 20% less steering input to get the car to make movements. It feels tighter in general and the steering feels more direct. The cons, u get quite a bit more road noise but in my opinion its not bad. Onto the energy suspension engine mounts. Virtually eliminated the movement of the front of the car in acceleration and most of all decceleration, so much so that when i back off the gas u dont even feel the car deccelerate, which is wierd but pretty cool. I have found it improved the understeer quite a bit. Cons, on idle the car vibrates atleast 10% more and arround 3500 u realy feel the engine vibration in yah feet and slightly in the steering, but again i find the pros outway the cons in my opinion. We used the supplied lubrication so im hopeing that all the bushing dont start to make a set of noise in the future, but i will keep u posted. The final mod in this session was the aem cai and water bypass filter. pros, much better response accross the rev range and a noticable increase in torque above 4000. Revs raise quite a good bit quicker from 3500 and when u reach lift its quite a bit more violent. As for the sound well WOW out of lift its pretty much quiet untill u floor it, and gets increasingly louder up to 6000, then beautifuly loud as 6200 big cam comes in. When i first hit lift my pores raised :) As for the cons i dont know of any yet other than more volume from the engine bay. I hope i have not posted stuff people already know and i have not boored u to death :)
  3. polyurethane is much harder and stronger than the stock rubber parts, so it will eliminate any flex in the cradle arm giving improved steering response and longer life. also toyota dont sell the bushing seperate u have to but the whole arm which ent cheap.
  4. I dno what year u have bud, but i had a similar problem with my 01 runx. I changed out my lift bolts and my lift is exactly the same always. Mine being a 01 had the lame softer lift bolts. I believe all 2zzge's from 03 on had the new stronger bolts installed from the factory. I will also add thow that when u hit lift on a nice cold night i realy feels hella more dred than in the day so make sure u talking about the same kinda ambient temps. :)
  5. Hey guys just got in my set of energy suspension bushings for the front and rear suspension. I hope they fit. I will let you guys know how it works out. I bit the bullet and went ahead and got front end control arm bushings, rear axle beam bushings, a set of engine mount inserts and an aem CAI (matrix xrs) with a water bypass valve. Im sending the car in on monday so i will update u asap. monkeywrenchracing.com has them all in stock. later Scott
  6. I think its made for the US market matrix xrs. check trdusa.com
  7. What do you think of this as an option in reducing the amount of ping i get on a dayly basis. Here in trinidad our best gas is claimed 95 but it ent more than 93. My jdm runx supposed to run on 100. I have tried toluene and i have also tried the nos octane boosters (the black illegal one :) and they work well but they expensive. In my opinion this will allow me to run the a-s-s gas and maybe even bump up compression and ad stuff like cams and supercharger in the future. here is the link http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory.aspx?CategoryID=120 Its about 350 us for the kit wid the 1 gallon tank :) thanks scott
  8. We have alot of guys here in trinidad hat swap the 4afe out for the 3sgte from the sw20 mr2 into the bug eye ae111. It apparently is not and easy job unless u know what u doin but stock for stock it leaves my ***** after 3rd gear. Just an option.
  9. Hey guys i have some guys that have the 08 corolla sedan down here in trinidad and wanna know if the Eibach prokit that fits the zze series corolla fit the new rollas?
  10. Thanks guys. Any reviews on how they perform?
  11. Hey guys has anyone her used the AEM CAI for the Matrix XRS on their zze123? Will all intakes for the matrix xrs fit the zze123?
  12. Thanks alot for the help guys. The Tokico HTS are 16 way adjustable you should look into them they are supposed to be the **** http://www.hitachi-hap-la.com/TokicoGasSho...spec/index.html As you say H&R are great they offer two sets the H&R sport that lower 1.3 in and the H&R Race which lower 2 in. I definately dont want to bottom out the shocks and the roads here in Trinidad are not great. Which do u think is the better bet? Here isthe link to H&R http://hrsprings.com/scripts/appguide.php?...a%20|%20Corolla Thanks
  13. Sorry to be a pest guys but im trying to put together a spring and shock combo. I have decided on the Tokico HTS but im still looking at springs. does anyone have pics of their car dropped on H&R sport springs or race springs and have any reviews on it. In general what springs do u guys think is best for a dexterity/street mix. I dont wanna over lower and bottom the shocks, my main focus is on performance and balance. I would love coilovers but im not willing to shell out some much yet and i have a 5 month old that i dont wanna beat to death in the back seat :) My options are Skunk2/Eibach/H&R Sport/H&R Race/Progress/B&G/Tein Stec/Tein Htec. Its easier for me to buy in the US as im in the caribbean.
  14. Thanks so much for your help guys.
  15. Any one who has their cars fitted with the eibach pro kit, can you show me pics from the side so i can see the drop properly, i will realy appreciate it.
  16. who's OWF? How can i talk to him to get the contacts?
  17. Hey can anyone help me to contact c-one. I have looked through the japanese site and i cant see m to find any contact info. I would love to purchase parts from them. Thanks.
  18. great thanks alot. looks like more than a 1.1 inch drop to me. Car looks great, what size rims are those 16's?
  19. Thanks alot guys. Mike can you post some pics so i can see what the drop looks like? Thanks Scott
  20. Anyone know what the eibach pro kit for the zze123 spring rates are?
  21. Guys will the shocks available for he us model corolla zze130 fit the zze123. Tokico have jus released their D spec shock for the corolla zze130 and its realy nice. Will it fit my car?
  22. I should correct this: For 5w30, the manual gives a maximum ambient temperature of 10 degrees Celsius for the 2zz-ge engine, while it can be used above ~40C with the other engines. In fact, I did not understand why the 5w30 and 10w30 have different maximum ambient temperatures for the 2zz-ge engine, since normally the 30-index should be important at high T. I could only think of a possible difference when you start a cold engine at high ambient T, related to the capability to preserve a sufficently thick oil layer adsorbed on the metals when the engine is cold. Perhaps the low viscosity oil (index-5) at high ambient T drains all the oil from the metallic surfaces when we switch off the engine. Cool, but i have the celica gts toyota manual and it says 5-30 recommended for the 2zzge for the best fuel economy and cold starts from temps -25ºC to 38ºC. I think we should ask toyota about this so we can be super sure. :)
  23. Well redline say if you don't have ambient temps passing 40º c u can run 5-30. In trinidad the hottest it got is about 34º with an average of about 30º-32º hottest.
  24. As far as i know 5-30 is the recommended oil for the 2zz-ge as far as the celica and corolla manuals i have. Im using redline 5-30 and i tried 10-30 and it still burnt the same oil. I actually felt a performance loss switching to 10-30...but that could be in my head thow :)
  25. My zze123 does that as well...kinda. I reach about half the dip stick in about 5000k, but then i change my oil so i dno if it will go lower. It seems that it reaches half and doesnt pass that.
