  1. LOL, i want a PFC eventually. I realy want to get the car running well first then move on to tuning.
  2. I really wanted to start from scratch with the engine as it was a jdm import and i didn't know the history. This way i will break it in and i will be able to map my oil changes and maintainence.
  3. Parts reached $5500 US. Lucky for me i got my cousin who is a pilot to walk it in so i payed no duty (thanks god). The car has been down for about 2.5 months so far due to the parts being on order. My buddy who is doin the work for me has spent about 1 week so far on it i suspect another week or so once the rest of the smaller parts reach. He is an amazingly talented and absolutely brilliant and works side by side with his dad who has an amazing wealth of knowledge and skill and has come from a racing background.
  4. Hey guys ended up bending some valves and eventually spun a bearing so i have been saving for about a year now to rebuild the engine in a big way. Below is the public link to the build on facebook posted by my buddy and the mechanic doin the work. Keep checking it for updates. Ill let you know hoe things are going. 5. Does anyone know if there is a website i can cross reference the jdm part number with the US part numbers and see what is compatible? I know in some cases the parts are the same with a diff number in the US.
  6. Are all the 9th gen corollas suspension compatible with each other? In other words would the tein ss avaialble for the USA Corolla zze130 be able to work on my jdm zze123 Corolla Runx?
  7. Anybody here using K-sport coil-overs. Was thinking about them, they are very cost effective and seem built well. Any reviews?
  8. i have in the one for the 02, but i dont think there is a difference between the kits. I suggest you write ingen and ask if there are major differences.
  9. Has any one installed this on their jdm runx or corolla sportivo. I just ordered them and matt supplied me with a belt he thinks will work. He says that everyone's accessories differ, i presume the sportivo and the runx/allex/fielder z would be the same so i was wondering if anyone did this change successfully, Matt said the belt should be 2in longer than your stock belt. On toyodiy.com i found next to the part number for my v-belt they had a post saying L=1870, and so i gave that to him as a reference, i asume thats the length in mm. Any thoughts?
  10. Gald to hear you got through. My Mech did say it was quite a bit of work to get them in. He said he had to cut out the fronts but the rear was simple. Have fun.
  11. will this now cause alot of over steer or will the car be pretty neutral. I have stock suspension other than polyurethane bushings all round.
  12. Hey guys has anyone tried this bar, its made for the 03-07 corolla in the U.S. Do you think it will be a good upgrade for the runx/sportivo? http://newsite.monkeywrenchracing.com/prod...roducts_id=1205
  13. Did u use the exhaust for the matrix? If not can you guide me with what to buy and what size the pipe is?
  14. I realise that this ecu is only available for the celica but do you know if this will work in the runx/sportivo?
  15. If i was living by you then yeh, here in trinidad no fkn way i would get a bunch of crush bends and bad welds so and i would probably lose power lol. So i gotta find a better way :D
  16. The cheapest i can get the jdm exhaust for is 1000 us and The magnaflow exhaust costs 450 us which i dont find is a bad price. I have attached the pdf install, let me know if you think this will fit the zze123 15759.pdf
  17. So i was thinking, hopefully this has not been covered before but do you think the aftermarket exhaust available for the matrix will be compatable with the JDM RUNX that has the same wierd configuration?
  18. You did, when recently? Sorry about that, i thought i replied to the pm u sent me. Maybe it didnt go through. I bought a replacement arm from one of our local automotive parts stores and the correct part number was stamped on the packaging however, the sleeve was different. Our local dealer did not have anymore in stock. By the way, I PM'ed you a question pertaining to this issue when but you never responded. You should check your PM's more often.
  19. Glad to see you got it sorted. Is it that the control arm you had bought had the wrong sleeve in it, like an aftermarket version and thats why it had the play?
  20. Sorry to run off topic a bit here but do any of you guys know what my 01 jdm runx would use. what would you suggest i use to upgrade my bulbs in my headlamps and fogs.

  22. Well i drive hard as ****. So i have been experimenting with toluene and other octane boosters. I have found 2 gall of toluene to a 3/4 tank works well, as well as the nos octane boost ( the black bottle, the illegal one) works well. I heard your shell v power is 100 octane but its reel expensive. You should try it and see.
  23. The stabilizer bushings will not fit, but the rest do. The U.S. model zze130 uses bigger bars than we do. Front end control arm set 8.3120 Rear axle beam 8.3121 Motor mount inserts 8.1101 (manual trans only) The motor mounts are made for the matrix and the control arm and axle beam are made for the 03-06 corolla http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/toy.html You can buy them online at monkeywrenchracing.com How do you make out with the terrible caribbean gas? The best we get here in trini is 95. What do u run?
  24. I must drive way too hard or something because with my jdm runx zze123 i only get 330km at best. Is my tank smaller or something.
