Hmm, point taken.

Y'all,
I've found an abundance of these cassette decks on ebay, for a gen 4 Camry, but they're the American version. If I bought one of these, would it be fairly easy to install? More to the point, would it be compatible? I've got some pics below, as well as one of the donor vehicle (in a bad state).

find out who her insurer is, state what happened, and invite their assessor for inspection of both vehicles. Was her car damaged?
I took my car to an RAA repairer (her insurance was RAA) and they inspected the damage. But nothing changed. They couldn't tell who was at fault, but they thought that ether both people were at fault or I was at fault. I got a final letter from them a few months back saying "We're willing to not pursue recovery for the damage caused to our client's vehicle, however if you continue to pursue your claim for damages we will be pursuing recovery for damages together with costs."
So basically they black mailed me!!! Her car was damaged but quoted at only $808. I hate the RAA! I will not let it happen again!

I'm a P plater, and they always treat us like scum no matter what! That and I only had third party insurance at the time. Besides if it went the other way I would have had to pay $1,000 excess anyway. I didn't have to pay the other person, I made sure of that!

Some of you may or may not know that I was hit back in April by this crazy b#@! Um... motorist that admitted to being at fault but told their insurance company something completely different! Anyway we're now paying for the damage ($1,320) and I will post a pic of how it looks after it's fixed, when I pick it up in a week or so.

Tuning
in Camry Club
Does Toyota do tuning? I'm not familiar with what's involved, do they just adjust the valve clearance or something? My engine is sounding a bit rough, so I think it needs doing. How do I get my engine sounding a bit more healthy?
Thanks in advance...

Hey do you still have the original radio that you took out?? Because I'm really looking for the OEM deck that's from a 98-99 CSi. I'd be willing to buy it off you if it worked!

Remember when they had to convert their cars into aqua-cars? Jeremy had the Hilux and re-named it "Toyboata"! Can't remember which season it was.

The answer to both questions is yes. I actually think it's fairly normal, to have a slight resistance.

I've noticed for some time now that it requires a bit of force to put the transmission in park, the same with moving it out of park. I've usually just been putting it in neutral instead.
Any help or advice appreciated!

Tuners
in Camry Club
So do you have to buy anything extra or is it all part of getting it installed? How much is installation usually?
-
Yes I only drive on weekends
Now that's a good idea!

I got mine in March. I don't do very many km's.
-
I'd like to know how many km's other people's Camry's have. Post you current odo reading and what it was when you got it.

Tuners
in Camry Club
Some of you may know that I was trying to find the OEM cassette deck for my Camry, but I have decided to give up looking. So now I'm thinking of just getting a nicely matching custom tuner. I'm interested in the Kenwood KDC-237G, but I'm not sure how to tell if it will fit in my car. Are all custom tuners the same with the sockets and all? Do they fit in most cars?

Nice! Very nice!

No not the linkages, just the arms and blade assembly's. I got them put on today, labor was only $19. But I paid about $80 for the wipers.
-
You mean it's not making a buzzing sound? But I don't think the Camry's make a buzzing sound when you turn them on. My last car was a 2000 Astra, it made that buzzing sound on start up.
Your Toyota dealer should really be more help than the people here. If not, PM Rolla Boy. He should be able to tell you something.
-
Tried installing them yourself???
I'm not a confident D.I.Y.er. Though $90 just to put on some wipers is a bit steep. I'll ring tomorrow anyway. Thanks!!
-
So I've bought new OEM wipers for my gen4 Camry, I'm replacing them right down to the motor linkage. I just need Toyota to put them on, how much would they charge? Would it be $50 or less?
-
I can't believe them sometimes! Last month I was just walking past a Toyota dealer, and two of the salesmen standing out the front were looking at me like I was some sort of criminal!
As for buying or trading cars in future, it's best to ignore what they say and be very careful about choosing. Ask difficult questions etc.

Because the cheap custom CD player that someone put in is now broken and I want the stock unit back in there. Because I prefer stock.
<_<

Yeah they do have to check, service and clean a car before they sell it so that's one good reason why they sell it for more. It's just their attitudes I don't like, and you always feel like they're trying to con you.
Anyway, after this car I'm only buying new!
American versions?
