  1. It should be a warranty fix. Mine is "designated" a creak rather than rattle and for the 4th time is going in this week. They need it for a few days, so it's obviously not an easy fix and the previous post on here about the origin being up near the windscreen and most of the dash needing to be pulled out rings true. We will see how we go. If mines not sorted this time, I'm selling it.
  2. been awhile guys. had an accident christmas eve. will post some pics when i get a chance. ours are at 38 and wearing slightly more in the middle. if you want even wear, 35 sounds about right. for a kxr anyway.
  3. thanks for the tip. think i was 14 when I did my first wheel alignment.
  4. its only a wheel alignment Taka, its not rocket science.
  5. No, they like to check wheel alignment on the first service to make sure things are all good. I don't think it's a high priority from the factory.
  6. Wheel alignment won't be covered under the 150 deal. Unless you complain well.
  7. you won't be disappoinnted.
  8. Exactly like my car with half the Kms sound coming from the middle right section of the dash but I don't drive it that much like you no offence, but aside from the bloke here with the oil leak, the customer service from Toyota (the few times you need it) they are night and day in comparison. I'm sure there are good and bad dealers but I think on the whole the customer satisfaction from Toyota ownership is brilliant. Other car makers call Toyota bland (Ford Forumers in particular seem to delight in this), but I think this is a backhanded compliment because you don't have to think about them. I love buying Australian, but when it comes to cars, nobody puts them together like the Japanese!
  9. cheers Ric. its up for its 30K service so I'll log it with them. its the wifes car, so I only notice it when i infrequently drive it.
  10. mines a KXR and the horrible rattle comes from directly above the reverse camera display. anybody have this same rattle??
  11. the old man has both these issues. the clunk was reduced around 90% (his claim) on its first service) by greasing and the oil use was around 1/2 litre per 1000k's I believe. the clunk he can live with, the oil use he ain't impressed with at all. same with a few things like missing power outlets etc.
  12. Dealer said to put 1 premium tank in every 4 fills purely as a cleaning agent. We have pretty much followed this advice and to be perfectly honest have noticed ZERO difference in fuel economy. Thats using E10, normal unleaded and Premiums from all suppliers. No need paying for fuel that makes no difference. Whatever small margins you MAY increase economy and power by using higher rated octane DO NOT justify the LARGE increase in cost.
  13. interesting. i'll shoot off an email to my dealer. see what reply i get.
  14. Is that a 5 or 7 seater? Cheers. only 5 seater. we are a family of five 2 adults 2dogs and 1 cat.
  15. how would that fit in the current slot you reckon i hate the green colour of the standard stereo against the blue of the small screen clash.
  16. a lot of the fuel going through mine is E10. hasn't made any difference.

  18. Not too much to complain about getting up to 20,000k service, except that the SRS Airbags in the A Frame squeek on both sides. It's usually when hitting small road bumps that it happens then it quietens down. Not a huge concern as the old mans new Cruiser does the exact same thing. Its just that the insides of modern cars are so quiet that any noise is noticeable. Also, as good as the transmission is, I find that it changes down unecessarily at low speeds. For example, going over speed bumps in the 10/20kmh range, it will change back and engine brake even though I am accelerating. Surely the Kluger is not that low on torque.
  19. Nice purchase. I just got the base for 40 with some mats. Then again, it was one of the first on the road. Not a lot to haggle with. Only us maybe buying at Territory gave us any lee way
  20. 40 on road with mats and rubber boot mat. KX-R. Didn't see the point dropping an extra 15G for Sat Nav and leather. Power to those that have but for me, the base is well enough equipped for us.
  21. Joined here late last year (got my Kluger in Sept 07) but it was pretty quiet. Just saw the bookmark and will start to get involved to fly the Kluger flag.
  22. We do have 10 holders. Count the one on the sides too. 3 on each side and 4 in the front. If you count the centre 2nd row, you have 12! We prob do not have the knee air bag and I think they count the curtain airbag as 3... Yep. We have the knee airbag. At least my KX-R does, so I'm guessing your grande does
  23. I've got the KX-R and get figures of around 10L/100K consistently. I would do at least 1 trip to the Gold Coast from Brissy in that tank. If I head straight from the pump and the wind is blowing behind, I've had it into the low 8's!
