yeah? will that be just as effective? ill get a deep cycle one so i can use the PC without the engine on for longer... but what about alternator? if im running all these things, i might end up using more power than im generating... so im going to need something bigger... anyone got any ideas on how i can do this?

hey people... with this PC im running in my car, and with my amps and other electrical things, im sucking up a whole lot of power out of my poor battery... im planning on sticking an extra battery in the boot to run my PC and amp. probably a heavy duty long lasting whopper battery... im just wondering, how do you keep it charging? just run a line from the alternator into what? positive or negative? what im concerned about is drawing too much power from the alternator and it not being able to handle it... so if i need to buy a new/bigger one, where can i get one from? can i stick any larger alternator on or does it have to be made for a corolla? has anyone upgraded their alternator yet? i dont really know how an alternator works, except the thingo inside spins like crazy with the engine, creating power, which is then stored in the battery... anything else i should know?

what actually happens when you select 2nd instead of 4th and blow up your engine? like does it just go bang and you lose all your power?... do you totally lose control? what breaks exactly?

thats ridiculous... you pay that much money for a car wash... next day, it rains... its in england so i cant imagine the car would stay clean for long... must be a good wash though... speaking of which my car needs a wash and full detail polish...

there are quite a few setups around (specially in the US) that are using minimacs for those reasons... one of the problems with macs is there are no DC-DC powersupplies for them. which is one thing i really wanted in my setup. sure an inverter would have worked but the corolla really doesnt have the space... i hate macs, and i have very little experience with them. I have alot of experience with windows and PCs, and my carPC is regularly synchronised with my laptop. its easier if they are both windows...

thats really unlucky. it sucks when something that you cant control gets you in trouble... i think you'll have a hard time trying to get out of that... like dylan said, they dont care that the sun was in your eyes. that just means driving conditions are worse, and you should cater for that in your driving style... maybe give it a shot... does it cost anything to appeal one of these things?
