  1. hey guys,

the official figure from Toyota is 94 kmph for 6th gear to engage in PERFECT conditions, so i would imagine in read life it would be around the 100 - 105 kmph everyone is experiencing.

Toyota's reason for the long 6th gear is obviously not for Australia but more for the euro market where the 6th gear will make a difference on the autobahn.

  2. hey guys,

Let me clarify, ALL of toyota's glass include at least a 2% colour, the maximum allowed (in WA anyway) is 38%. The Privacy glass on the rear of the klugers are darker than what you can legally get tint, so they will never match unfortunately. As for the UV protection of the privacy glass, i don't think toyota would leave it completely unprotected from UV rays, i would have to double check that detail. Worst case, most tint outlets offer a clear tint for UV protection, but some outlets will not want to touch the privacy glass.

    Hope this helps.

  3. hey guys,

i hope one of the bad salespeople was not me! lol! it would be interesting to know if you came to visit my dealership at all. unfortunately there are alot of salespeople out there that give us a bad name. vegemite, please email to discuss this further. also brougham please drop me an email too, i am doing my best to establish myself on this forum for WA members.

anyone else got any questions please drop me a line or email me.

    thanks.

  4. hey guys,

aftercare products have been around forever. i have to say, the products are expensive, and the only one i would really recommend is paint protection (only at the right price). also depending on how the dealer has set it up, the ones which make you go back each year for another application aren't worth it, but the ones which do not require the vehicle to go back for inspections and supply a lifetime warranty imo are good value.

    thanks.

  5. hey guys,

i have to admit, the Aurion's don't do as well as they should, but from what i can see there should be heaps spare in WA and the in the eastern states. delivery dates given by dealers (depending on the location of the vehicle) are usually estimations, based on the production dates that toyota give them. usually the delivery times are correct if everything runs smoothly.

    thanks.

  6. Some information on LPG

    - Operates at a much higher temperature than Unleaded, may experience burnt valve seats, and reduces engine life.

    - Harder to trade back in - valuers/used car managers do not like LPG conversions as they do not know how much damage has ben done to the engine.

    - Toyota will NOT warrant the engine or any components related to the conversion.

    - You cannot run the vehicle soley on LPG, a typical combination is 1 tank petrol 2 tanks gas.

    - LPG is NOT available at all service stations - not very convienient if you are on the road all the time.

    - Dual VVTi and LPG don't like each other.

    - Takes space away from the boot as you have a giant gas tank in the back.

    - Gas tank needs to inspected every few years for leaks and pressure, costs money.

There is more but I can't think of it at the moment...

    Hope it helps Andrew.

  7. I just rang every dealer in the state (QLD at the time) and asked for the best price drive away on what I wanted. got them lower and lower till I found the bottom. Just try each dealer and see what they can do. Trick is to know exaclty what you want, extras make it messy.

    Such as silver Aurion ATX.

Keep it simple ! let your fingers do the walking.

Get allt he other bits later - tints and so on if you want them.

Also I would like to add, the above strategy is very common and works resonably well. But what you will find with that is dealers will just quote what we call in the industry a "too good to be true" price, which aims at getting you in the dealership, and once you get there, they break the bad news to you. So if you are to do this, please ask for written quotes and not take their word over the phone.

  8. Thanks for dropping my name Borg, but I'd like to clear a few things up. Fleet companies such as Custom Fleet, Nova Lease, Lease Plan - don't usually deal with retail clients such as Andrew don't qualify for an official "fleet discount" as his franchise/company is not registered as a fleet company with TMCA. Most Fleet managers will pass retail clients details back to the retail sales team.

Another thing, Leasing companies do not get you the best deal as most of them have arrangements with specific dealers and they tend to go straight to that dealer rather than properly shop around as they should. On top of that, most fleet companies add their own margin on top of the price given to them by the dealer. So if you do work for a fleet registered comapny, make sure you go out and make grab a few quotes and compare them against the ones from your leasing company.

    Hope that helps guys.

  9. ... because they have dinosaurs as salespeople who don't have mobile phones.

    ROFL :yahoo:

if u r in melb, i will surely intro all my friends to buy car from you, and my next car too!

hv NEVER seen a salesperson soo "into" his job

I should really move to Melbourne, I think I'd make a fortune with all you boys in here lol. Unfortunately there aren't too many members in Perth, but I am still happy to help all the Perth boys, and what ever I can do for you boys over east.

  10. Does anyone know if the current model Tarago V6 GLX can be made an 8 seater, (yes I know it is not a listed option but then foglights on a Corolla Ascent is not a listed option but is possible). I need an 8 seater and I want a V6, Does anyone know if it is possible to install the GLi 2nd row into a GLX or do I have to buy a GLi and try to option up to get close to GLX features? I have spoken to a couple of salesmen and they said it was not possible but then they don't appear to think outside the square, in fact they don't appear to even think to the edge of the square.

What features of the GLX were you particulary chasing? Feel free to email me directly.

  11. Honestly, $750 off a Yaris is an average deal. No one pays too much for a car anymore. And what I have found as well is, what other people tell you they paid and what they really paid are usually two different stories. I had a lady who I sold a car to, who keeps referring heaps of people to me, but keeps telling them she bought her Corolla $1,000 cheaper than what she really did. It makes it difficult, but I wouldn't worry about the sort of deal you got, start getting excited about taking delivery of your new Yaris.

    Best of luck.

  12. With regards to issues with mobile phone compatibility, Toyota and Lexus will always try and attain the highest global standard for Blutooth. In my experience ALL the nokia phones I have connected work very well, most Motorolas work well (some won't connect automatically) and the same with Samsung. I have had clients who have phones that couldn't stay connected to the system, so they went out and bought the same phone as me so they knew it would work.

Most Toyota dealers aren't very helpful with SatNav and Bluetooth questions, mainly because they have dinosaurs as salespeople who don't have mobile phones.

If you have any questions about this please let me know.
