  1. i guess it depends on if ur gonna fully do up the system later, if so maybe just go for a cheap amp and sub package, possibly an alpine S or R sub and then go all out next time, or u can go MTX jackhammer!!! pimp my ride style :P
  2. yeh it is illegal, but how are they gonna know really? unless u total your car and they inspect it, or ur next to a cop and decide to show off :P but it seems that its just not worth considering it
  3. so this bypass relay allows me to keep the working immobiliser without compromising security? because it doesn't seem worth it if it's going to make it less secure
  4. hey guys, i've had a 2 way car alarm for just over a year now, for those who don't know what i'm on about, its a system which allows the car to send info back to me, i.e. when my alarm goes off, when doors are open, etc etc... and a function on my system is remote engine start (when i hit a button i can start the engine), but i was told i couldn't install it because of the immobiliser so i just decided not to bother with that part. but what i want to know is, is it true? is it not possible to remote start it? thanks guys
  5. can you guys see the controls anywhere? are they like the ones on the stivo and conquest?
  6. thought i'd dig up this old thread, just wanted to know what would be the best way to get power windows for all doors on my ascent? i've found a set for all four doors on ebay, but what does everyone think? waste of money? too hard to do? any suggestions guys? anyone done it? cheers guys melvin http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Complete-4-Door-Pow...1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. yeh i guess heat woud be a problem, depending on how you secure it, if its just gonna be the tape it came with, then i might just melt off after a while but if your worried about water, you could take a page out of 'pimp my ride' and get plastic tubing around the wires.
  8. yeh do exactly what bigbum said, you don't need to drill a hole, because theres like a little gap you can put it through anyway, but when i first installed it it was rubbing on the doors a little, and when i went over bumps it would creak. but i realised what bigbum realised. just to put something there overnight to compress it a bit, good luck
  9. well i think i have to take a stand for my fellow 1zz's. 1zz and the 2zz are very comparable before the 2zz hits lift, anyone who has driven both cars will know. it's only when the stivo hits lift then things get tipped heaps in the stivos favour. and as for that shopping trolley remark... for a shopping trolley it sure does plenty of our competition, if not all in our class. so please... stop this rolla on rolla crime :D
  10. just everyone be grateful we don't have the ones on the Jazz, take a look, u'll know what i mean
  11. ouch! 2 week old 18"s, that hurts, sorry again :(
  12. sometimes its just an honest mistake, sometimes they just don't know how to drive... but i guess thats true, more cars than trucks do it, but there are more cars than trucks :P
  13. have u actually driven a real truck? do u have any idea wat it feels like to have cars and bikes zipping around u all the time. then when u make a turn u have to turn very late to accomodate the turning circle and then some smart driver decides to play fill in the blanks. do u know how big the blindspots are. and how many blindspots there are? there are blindspots where u wouldn't even dream of having in a car. on top of that, they don't turn, accelerate or brake very well. i'd be a bit more understanding. at the same time i would also get onto the trucking company asap, but be prepared for setbacks. ← Hold up, at NO TIME did i say it was the truckers fault, all i said was 'bigger doesn't demand more respect' which i believe is true, the small cars should realise they can be easily squished and the big trucks should trucks should realise that can easliy squish. I can understand that driving one of those things must be real difficult beyond what i can imagine, i didn't say it was easy. But what i DID say was 'it was an unfortunate accident', NOT 'trucks are like cars so its the truckers fault'. I respect your knowledge shao but don't go taking stabs at me.
  14. i just resetted mine, and now im getting ~600 and more response it seems :|
  15. yeh not cool, what if someone came buy and snatched your sexy new antenna tomorrow? but that brings up another issue, if we were to get a CRV antenna LEGALLY, whats the best way to secure it, and not had it permanently stuck on there i.e. not superglue!
  16. sorry to hear bout that, but none of this give them the respect that they demand rubbish, bigger doesn't equal respect, just an unfortunate accident? did you get the name of the trucking company? maybe that would help?
  17. if it wasn't "immmediately" off a crv, how much was it? and where? wreckers? dealers?
  18. well i thought i'd let you guys know that the door sills are up and running, after running to repco for new fuses and some help from KT_haha, ura champ! so i never figured out the reason for the fuse blowing TWICE! but in the end i got them all working and they look great. just incase any of you guys decide to install a set later on, there has been a guide posted, and just incase you run in to the same problem as me, which was that i didn't have the red/green wire for the door sensor at the front right side. instead i had a light blue one. thanks guys
  19. is this a whiteline problem or do all sway bars experience this?
  20. perths been raining a fair bit lately and the wind is killin me! down the freeway, and my cars gotta mind of its own. ← another fellow perthian enjoying the heavy perth winds atm, but i gotta say the rain is fun :P
  21. well i don't think the face-lift model really needs it, the size and the shape of the headlights compared to the pre-face lift, is alot more aggressive. it'd look better with eyelids, but not necessary for $180. Just wait for toyota genuine :P
  22. nice work guys, yeh i busted a fuse, and now i got the whole left side working. not sure what i did wrong, going by KT's guide the left rear one was the one which had a choice of 3 wires to pick from and i got that one. maybe its power extension to the drivers side? how'd u guys do it? just splice the 12v wire, the transformer wire, and the extension wire together rite?
  23. hey guys, a few days ago i installed ONE of the door sills and it works fine, now today installed another two, and they all didn't work. Then i went back and took off the last two i did and leaving me with the ONE i orignally did first, and now that doesn't work; now i think its a power problem because my interior light, clock, and deck don't work i.e. no power, and i made sure i didn't cut the power wires anywhere. i disconnected the battery while i was doing it just incase, so any ideas guys?
  24. well it looks like bp ultimate is leading the way so far, this might sound crazy, but i always get the most mileage when i switch between fuels, e.g. from optimax to ultimate or vice versa, anyone else?
