  1. Sorry to hear about your bad luck with a brand new Aurion, it's sad to hear that Toyota has lost a customer on which has honestly been a great vehicle. The only advice I can offer you is; if you want a quick response don't go to Toyota Head Office, we get the same amount of service as any other guy off the street. We ask for resolutions to our stock shortages, cars coming out of Japan late, release information on upcoming models, and the service has always been slow. You are much better off going up the dealerships' management. But good luck with the vehicle and I hope it works out for you soon. Melvin
  2. With the changeover price, I will need more information on your vehicle and which aurion you are after. Sportivo: Auto/manual? 4cyl/V6? 2004 model? With the release date of the next generation prius. Toyota have announced to us so far that there will NOT be any new vehicle releases in 2008. Rumours are 2009 there will be a new prius.
  3. Hey guys, Just thought I'd bump the post and let people know that I am still here to answer any questions you may have. I do have one request though, please do not send me enquiries about prices for parts unless you are in perth and serious. It is unfair for me to ask my parts department to continuously spit out quotes which lead them no where. Other than that I am happy to help in any other way i can.
  4. thanks for the all the support guys, keep the enquiries coming melvin
  5. Hey Guys, Never thought i would come across a topic like this on a forum. But i guess i should comment, but not say too much. Leasing companies have certain dealers which they have ties with, so when it comes to get a quote for a leasing client, they will get a quote from their preferred dealer and generally leave it at that. So it is usually more cost saving to do your own shopping around, and sign a deal "subject to leasing via leaseplan" as i have had to do many times. Hope this helps other lease clients in the future
  6. Is it a brand new car? if it is, give it some time to settle in, it will always use more then you are running the engine in. But if you see no change, when it comes to your first service, get the service guys to look at it, they should be able to plug in to the ECU and do a quick lap around the block to see if anything is running abnormally. Otherwise, if its not a new car, get them to have a look at it, at your first service.
  7. Haha thanks guys, I do my best. Eventhough I am in Perth I will try my best to answer any questions everyone has, so keep them coming. But it pains me to know that I'm doing the work for a know nothing salesman in another state. Anyway keep the topics flowing. Melv-miester
  8. Thanks guys, I think I would make a fortune selling Toyota's if I relocated to NSW. Wouldn't need to do anything but sit on this forum all day. I believe that there will be special training courses for the TRD dealerships, but that will only work for the first 6 months or so until the salespeople leave for other dealerships or leave the industry, motor vehicle sales people come and go very quickly. So the sales people will be all trained up and good to go until they leave and they are replaced by newbies, thats when us salespeople will start looking stupid when it comes to product knowledge
  9. Hey guys, Unfortunately your speculations are true, only specific Toyota Dealers will be able to stock and sell Toyota's new range of TRD vehicles. I know who have been nominated in WA but I am unable to tell who else is in the other states. But to give you an idea, WA has 14 metro dealers, 2 of which will stock TRD. The selection is based in the dealerships sales figures for Corolla Sportivo, Celica and MR2. I regret to inform you that Prosser Toyota is NOT one of these dealers :( Let me know if you have any questions guys. Melvin
  10. Sorry i didn't see this thread sooner. Toyota Link needs to be activated or initalised at time of pre-delivery, take it back to the dealer who you got it from and ask them to do it properly. Hope this helps. Melvin
  11. Hey guys, Thanks for all the PM's, glad i could help. Feels like i'm giving back to the forum. Keep it up Melvin
  12. just to settle the levin SX and levin ZR questions. Levin SX: front and rear power windows cruise control leather bound steering wheel and shift lever body kit rear spoiler fog lamps 6-disc in dash CD changer with MP3 Compatibility and Bluetooth 16" alloys Levin ZR: side mounted, curtain shield, and drivers knee airbag (makes the car 5 star safety rated!!!) smart entry and push button start automatic HID headlamps rain sensing wipers (i think standard, im doing this off the top of my head) climate control airconditioning sports seat trim reverse parking sensors and front parking sensors optitron combimeter electrochromatic interior mirror hope this helps guys
  13. i get this question at least once a week from customers, and this is my usual reply. toyota will not carry any warranty for the engine if it has had an LPG conversion, plus it reduces engine life, and engine power. LPG operates at a higher temperature, so a common problem that people have with LPG is burnt valve seats. to get LPG working efficiently, most people run it on at least 2 tanks petrol and 1 tank LPG, so is it really worth it all? also an LPG tank in your boot will take up a fair bit of space. hope this helps guys
  14. i'm fighting this argument everyday when selling all toyota 4WDs, will the auto tow as good as my manual? the auto transmissions of today are just as good at towing as their manual counterparts. i have sold hilux's, prado's and landcruisers to people who are going around australia with a fully loaded caravan. the paranoid ones will put on transmission coolers, but most just follow the rule of towing with auto; do not tow in overdrive.
  15. Toyota Australia have been approached by the V8 Supercars, to enter a vehicle to rival the Holden's and Fords. But Toyota have turned around and have said "Keep your V8 Supercars, we're going for F1 Racing, thanks anyway". So i can't see the new TRD Aurion won't be launching an attack on the HSV and FPV vehicles. But it'll be exciting to see how they're going to control 240 - 250kw with a FF setup.
  16. Hey guys, Went to the next generation Corolla roadshow today and I have final specifications and pricing. Toyota's strategy is to attack the Mazda 3 buyers, because apparently the Mazda 3 just barely outsold the Corolla one month in the private car market. Not bad considering the current model Corolla is now 6 years old! and it still continues to outsell Commodore and Falcon. But the pricing for the manual models is listed below. Ascent Hatch and Sedan $20,990 Conquest Hatch and Sedan $25,500 Levin SX Hatch $25,500 (AWESOME VALUE!!!) Levin ZR Hatch $29,500 Ultima Sedan $31,990 (Auto Only) This is the confirmed pricing from Toyota, and i personally think the Levin SX Hatch and the Conquest Sedan will be the big sellers. Any other questions please PM me. Melvin

  18. As a toyota new vehicle salesperson in perth, i will be attending the corolla roadshow at the conventionn center on monday, will keep in touch with information. and i have set aside a levin sx or zr for my own demo, depending on the price :D
  19. I thought this information has already been leaked? well since it hasn't, i am proud to announce that the new model corolla will hit the streets in May 2007. even more exciting information, the Tuesday just gone by i just ordered our stock of the new corolla's. They are now officially producing our corolla's in Japan. I don't have the paperwork here, but there are several models in the range. Ascent (Hatch and Sedan) - with option of a sport model (alloys and spoiler most likely) - with a luxury option (can't remember what the extras are) Conquest (Hatch and Sedan) - a few extras i can't remember Levin (Hatch only) - now has a moon roof option Ultima (Sedan) i have ordered a wildfire manual levin with moonroof for my drive car when it arrives any other questions please just ask cheers Melvin
  20. Yes the current model is built in Thailand. And you are able to export to from Australia but I am 99% sure that you will be unable to purchase directly from the Thailand factoy. Myself as an employee of Prosser Toyota cannot even purchase directly from Toyota Motor Corp Australia, so I would imagine it being very difficult to a do a direct purchase from Thailand. Once the Hilux has been imported in to Australia, dealers are able to sell them to businesses, and whatever they chose to do with the trucks from then is up to the buyer (export).
  21. thanks for the support guys, getting all sorts of PM's, makes me feel like i'm contributing to the forum, keep em coming!
  22. can't help you with a wiring diagram, but at the dealership we fit the new model hilux SR5's with 17" rims and tyres, greatly increasing the rolling diameter. but the speedo automatically adjusts itself. hope this helps
  23. yeh definitely, but i guess they've still got the new LC70 to get out of the way first, then hopefully it will be full steam 2007 corolla
  24. for an extra $4,000 odd dollars, i think its worth it, if you look at all the extra features and the apparance, i'm sure you will chose the SX6
  25. unfortunately guys, im sorry to say that the meeting was nothing more than going through toyota wa's launch plans. nothing at all to do with specs, features, or pricing. safe to say i was a bit let down when i left the meeting. sorry to get everyone excited, but i will keep you posted on any developments with the new corolla. cheers
