  1. HI.. I have a friend that can do window tint aurion for $240 in the South Eastern Suburb of Melbourne. PM me if you want to get his details and let me know your real name so I can pass it to him that you will give him a call. THanks. I've done mine with 20% for my black aurion touring. He will treat you like a friend instead of sales person and if something wrong he will take care of it.
  2. ah....good point, i think it didn't have sound at all and I agree maybe the cancelling nothces as mentioned by Danos and Hiro... sorry, this is the first time I hear a car has a cancelling notches but if everyone has this noise in their aurion than I am happy that I don't have the odd car. Thanks all...
  3. no...it is not an indicator click sound. It is a different one and it is coming from the streeing wheel. So if you include indicator sound then there are TWO sounds that I can hear, one from indicator and one from the steering wheel. It happen when you turn on signal either left or right and turning your wheel, whether on idle or round about or U turn. I drove diffrent few cars previously but this one is odd. Please turn off the music and drive quietly and if you hear it, please let me know. Thanks.
  4. HI.. Have you ever notice there are a sound tuck tuck tuck or click click click sound when you turn on signal left or right and then turning the wheel. for example while you go to round about or u turn. If you turning the steering wheel a lot then it will give you the sound a few more (make sure signal is on) Is this normal or should I go back to fix it? I am sorry if this raised before but let me know whether or not I should fix it or it is normal to aurion? Thanks.
  5. VFX, would you share the picture of your car when you have those black rim? thanks.
  6. In term of "leaf" rattle. The service dealer said need to change the centre part and need to order the part so I need to coming back next time. I mentioned whether or not you need to take all the dashboard and he said NO. Is this true? because I mentioned to him, if need to take the whole dashboard, no need to fix it because I don't want later will cause something wrong with other area and he said NO. So, could you please let me know if the dealer fixed your leaf rattle on the centre, did they pull out the whole dashboard or just the centre part only? Please let me know. Thanks.
  7. I just service my car 1500km...and the tech service said it is normal around 12l/100km for 20mins driving for one way everyday between 60-80km. Need adjustment a bit longer and see what happen.
  8. wow...very nice....but only in Thailand because everything so cheap over there and no rule for lowering the suspension I guess. Very nice modification
  9. hm...some dealer give free and some don't...confusing. Thanks everyone...
  10. Hi.. Just double check when you had your first complimentary service within 3 months or 1500km, do you get oil change? how about car wash and vacuum? Thanks for sharing.
  11. Thanks DerekD, Yes, I think it is a timing issue because I couldn't work it out for a couple of times and then suddently work 1 time and then tried again and it didn't work. I agree that we need to do it in less than 30secs, I guess.
  12. Questions: 1. if you drive around 20mins in 100km and 10mins in 80km continuously, what the average fuel consumption do you get? from and to? for example from 11l to 9.5l on the display 2. For those people who reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for at least 20mins, do you get this fuel consumption better? Please let me know. Thanks.
  13. Derek, could you please update or modify the steps below since you got it work because if I follow the steps below it doesn't work. Thanks 1. Make sure the car is in Park and the parking brake is disengaged before you start the car. 2. Start the engine. 3. Engage the parking brake. 4. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. 5. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. 6. Disengage the parking brake. 7. Fully depress and hold down the brake pedal. 8. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal). 9. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal). 10. Release the brake pedal. 11. Engage the parking brake. 12. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. 13. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
  14. Update: On the weekend, I drove mostly 70-80km for 30mins, the average fuel on the display show drop from 11 something to 10.4l. Then stop for a picnic with engine off and then drove similar speed and stop to buy groceries while I was waiting inside the car with the engine still ON (because my baby was sleeping) and I saw the display going up slowly from 10.4 to 12.6 and when I drove back it will crawl slowly but still end up arrive at home 11.5l. Oh man...I think we need to drive more than 30mins with average speed of 70km and it will shows the average fuel consumption going closer to 10l. @blinkyvill, so I am guessing if we just drive for 20minsx2 per day, we still end up 11l something because that what my wife normally drive on the weekdays. On the good side compare to my friend's honda crv (2 months old), he also got 12l with similar driving pattern so 2.4 engine compare to our aurion 3.5 v6 engine about the same fuel consumption so I guess we should be happy with Toyota engine fuel consumption Edit: but I will check why when we on idle with engine on, the fuel shows going up. Is this because we burning more fuel?
  15. hm...probably something wrong with my car or it is still new?? this is my second time I refuel the car. based on the km driven, I drove 470km with 59 litres so around 12.5;/100km but the average fuel always above 11litres or around 11.5 average. I never get below 11litres even drove for 100km in freeway to the airport for 20mins and the rest mostly 80km still above 11l. I checked it twice drove to the airport back and forth and a week later the same thing above 11l. I am expecting less than 11l or 10l should be good but mostly the rest of the days my wife drove between 60-80km for 20mins each way for 2 weeks. Do I need to mentioned this in my first service? Do I need to worry or is it normal? I didn't check the first time but I still continue checking for this third time. Furthermore, can you confirm if I fill it with unleaded 95, it will goes further? how far further compare to normal 91 unleaded? or Is it worth it? I guess, I can test myself but just want to know for those people who tried already. Thanks.
  16. This scratch X is working...about 80-90% to remove fine scrathes. Tested in my car with light scratches but in my friend's car probably because it is too deep it won't remove deep scratches but the rest were good. Wixy/everyone, Since we are in melbourne, you know, there is a water restriction so I normally drive my car to spray it and clean the car there and wipe it clean. Can I drive it home around 4 mins drive back to my place and wax it at home? because I don't want to wax the car over there and hold the next car who wants to wash. Is it ok to drive home and wax it? or it is not a good idea since on the way home it will pickup dust and not good to wax over it. Please let me know your opinon. Thanks. What do you think if I drive home for 4 mins and wax at home? still OK?
  17. Which picture? I think it is the back door. The front door doesn't look like has a side bar. from here: http://aurionv6.com.au/toyota/aurion/#aurionV6 You mouse over the door, the back door has the side bar but not the front door. That is why I am asking and make me worried if the front door doesn't have the side bar protection. and I wonder why toyota has a lot of money (no.1 selling car in the world and australia) doesn't want to pay for optional pole test.
  18. Hi... Do you think Aurion has a side beam/steel protection for the front doors of the car? I think it doesn't have one but only the back door. No wonder Toyota didn't want to test the side pole crash test. Am I right? Please correct me if I am wrong and let me know where to get the details.
  19. @ Dave, Where is the location of service that you recommend in Victoria? Thanks.
  20. Example: 56 litres and 520 klms Calculate as follows, 56lit divided by 520 klms multiply by 100 = 10.76lt/100klm If you only use 48 litres and travel 520 klms 48lit divided by 520 klms multiply 100 = 9.32lt/100klm Thanks again Julian, I thought it is based on the fuel average on the computer because it is normally shows above 11l/km. I already note the trip A and I will calculate it later.
  21. My new Aurion Touring has a drive train noise when cold. If you reverse when cold and then go forward, turning the steering wheel at the same time, you hear a soft clunk noise. I do not here it again until the next morning. The air con noise know as the "leaf" sound is actually the vent fins rattling at a certain fan speed and vent direction, turn the vent fins a tad or reduce the fan speed and it goes away. I also experiencing the above two, should I get the dealer to fix it in 1000km service? Feels empty on the roof when you push around the front light area, so you can see a bit of gap between the roof carpet and the grey square front light is this normal? When you push from gear 1 to 2 is slow going up the rev, is this normal? Please let me know. Thanks
  22. How do you measure or get the figure? I have aurion touring, when I check the average fuel consumption, at the moment around 11.2l/100 for half a tank (it drop from 12.2l at full tank). is this normal or I should wait until almost 600km driving then see the average fuel figure? So far I only fill it once (still a new car) with unleaded petrol. I cannot get figure less than 11l/100km so far, eventhough on the freeway 100km driving for 20mins. should I wait after a few refill? or something wrong with the computer? I drive normally, city and a bit of freeway but city driving normally only for 20mins to point B, 20 mins to point A on the weekdays. A couple of freeway driving for 60 mins in total. Edit: I normally turn on the AC for 2 bars at 22degrees.
  23. Built in ones are much harder to steal and sell off. But are generally not as good as 3rd party ones. 3rd party ones a very easy to steal, if you get one, never leave any signs that your car has one. Don't leave the mount on the window, don't leave a charger there. Make sure its all hidden well. Can also be changed from car to car. In my opinion, I rather get 3rd party GPS+Bluetooth such as tomtom or Mio c520. I don't think the factory sat nav has voice guidance text to speech (telling you the street name), but I could be wrong if toyota has update recently, can any one confirm this? I bought mio c520 (gps & bluetooth) and very happy with the product for around $400, you get car charger and home charger as well and you can unlock the device so you can watch the video, ebook, word, excel, powerpoint, read pdf etc. Those extra benefits for you, eventhough I seldom use it but I would like to watch the video while waiting in the car (not while driving though). Furthermore, you can update minor map , red light and speed camera for free and...if you use a lot of calls, there is a feature for answering the call in 3 secs or 6 secs etc without doing anything. Yes, you can have added security as well but probably the thief will know how to by pass the password I guess since he/she wants to steal it and know the product. So far I leave the mount on the window but I lock the gps or bring it with me but....if bad luck then you need to replace the broken window by the thief and probably damage the storage as well if you lock it because the thief might try to open it. Maybe leave it open so you only lose the broken window without replace the storage I guess.... Anyway, with or without GPS, any desperate thief will try to break someone car.... The plus side, you can use this GPS third party (c520) for walking/bush walking, listen to music or watch video etc... I guess it is all depend on your needs and purpose...

  25. Thanks Wixy for your input... Just double check, if I bought scratch x from meguiars...do I still need to use this clay bar? edit: i just checking meguiars website, I guess it is doing the same job so i don't need this clay bar.
