  1. note to self, never rely on a country spray painter who forgets to paint your grill........
  2. Hey Brad, not so good thus far! looks like i will have to take the front bumper off and fabricate something 15mm - 20mm high to attach to the front bumper to be able to attach the grill. To keep the top of the grill level with the bonnet and where the grill attaches above the headlights may just prove to leave a too big a gap below for my liking. The "wedges" will also be visible so will have to be colour coded to the bumper and discrete.... might have been easier to buy the whole bumper but i'm hoping my way will still prove to be a lot cheaper... eventually! I will know more Thursday as thats my next day off and i plan to spend a lot of it in my garage however my initial opinion is i may have to bring in a third party (like a panel beater). Either way i'm reasonably sure this will be a one of a kind and possibly a once only attempt as i risk doing damge to the bumper if i get it wrong.... fingers crossed right!
  3. Hi SupaTouring! wish i could buy you a beer for being so helpful, i need to test the friendship one more time? I need to buy the chrome toyota emblem fo rthe grill and i was wondering if you could measure yours so i know what size to buy? once again, thanks in advance, Nathan
  4. ooohhhhh air horns..... one that places dixie? lol. thanks Daryl, was not sure which voltage and dB to look for
  5. after letting my sister drive my car over the weekend (it was her birthday) and then listening to my horn as she needed to get my attention as she couldn't find the park brake, i have agreed that the horn needs to be replaced. I'll most likely be doing this through EBay after reading that its mostly plug and play and should be able to do it myself but what do i need to search EBay for please?
  6. It would be really helpful!! I am getting the grill painted this weekend (matt black) so won't be tring to refit until mid next week many many thanks.
  7. ok so I need to ask the TRD aurion owners out there a BIG favour. After having a close look as to how the TRD grill sits on the front bumper of my ZR i am pretty sure that it is notgoing to be "plug and play". What has really got me concerned is to get it right i may have to take the front bumber off and install some sort of blocks for the new grill to sit on.. effectively screwing up from the bumper to attach little mounts which i am sure will be visible and not the finish i'm after. I'm hoping that one of our TRD owners out there may have enough spare time to take some photos of how their grill sits on the bumper? I know its a really big ask and that it may involve taking the cover off the front of the engine bay, i just can't think of another way to see it this is going to work..... anyone? please?
  8. thanks for the photo mod! now that ucan compare black with red, still not sure which colour to go with.... Not going to do it myself so ease of job makes no difference in this case! think i'll paint it black and if i don't like it go red.....
  9. thanks guys, i'll run with it and see how it goes..... give me something to do this weekend anyway. What do you think a second hand sportivo grill is worth?
  10. hey guys, can someone please (if its possible) change the centre grill to black?
  11. I guess the really big question is can i still use it? and seeing that the tabs are slightly different will it fit?
  12. During the rainy season i tend to wash my windscreen every couple of days with "windex" type cleaner. I find that this assists in allowing the water to "run" off the windscreen more readily...
  13. Why do things never go perfectly? why is it whenever i think i'e got a dolid plan things go wrong? Need some advice people!!! My new TRD grill arrived sometime yesterday and i was very happy when i got home from work and saw the package on the doorstep... I unwrapped it slowly and stared lovingly at the R running through the wire mesh and then as i unwrapped the main piece, disaster struck! one end was broken off... Damn those bloddy couriers!! the thing was wrapped in a mile of bubble wrap so clearly they completely ignored the fragile stickers on the box!! Anyway have attached a few photo's comparing the TRD grill with the sportivo grill for you all. A few things i noticed straight away: The TRD grill is a fair bit heavier and has different tabs (see photos) to attach the car, also the new grill doesn't come with any screws etc to fit to the car or does it come with the actual Toyota badge.... Gotta Say Brad has been very helpful and in no way does this reflect on him! We will both be contacting the company involved and will keep you all posted....

    Lap top

where can i go to buy a quality Laptop without spending thousands? I use word, windows and itunes etc so don't need anything super cool. Any advice would be appreciated.....
  15. ok before i sing Daryl's praise again let me tell you a little about why i went for HID's... I live in a very small country town and work at a hotel about 10km out of town. Its a wonderful 90km/h drive with windy roads, sligt elevations and no lighting what so ever. I asked this forum about HID's and daryl recommended 6000k in the low beams and leave the high beams alone.... Result, Perfect! last night was the first night driving home and the blue tinge of the HID's seem to spread the light further and wider and clarified the white posts along the road. Add to that the yellow/white of the high beam it was almost like driving in daylight!! once again Daryl, thanks for the perfect advice!
  16. can't believe i've had these HID's in the shed since November and finally got around to getting them installed. Got a mate to do it for me (i draw the line at wires) and have had it setup so if it goes wrong the original globes are plug and play. I included a photo of where the packs have been attached although its not real clear in the second photo...
  17. left and right ballast for HID photos with placement of the TOCAU sticker..... blueish HID looks wicked in daylight against the wall can't wait to drive home tonight....
  18. once on trim the edge off with razor blade....i had a tiny ratty bit on mine too cos i decided to rip it off 20 seconds after i put it on to position it better lol.....slicing the tatty bit off didnt effect any of the text which was good thanks, for tha tip, i'll do that!
  19. finally got around to putting the HID lights in, can;t wait till it gets dark! and i put the new tocau sticker on, made a mess of it the first time so now one edge doesn't stick right.... bugger won't last long.
  20. Hey guys thanks for the interest in my sportivo grill and the Thai grill ! As soon as I have the trd grill on I will post photos and take offers . Will be a week or two though cheers nate
