  1. yep, that was good and he reminds me of my dear ol grandpa!
  2. stoopid technology.... the wildfire red 3500S has had one owner 16000 km is in a Holden yard (dammit) and is a ridiculous $32900.00. the ink 3500S is straight from factory (owned by toyota) 11000 km in a toyota yard $35900.00 after my key incident i'm looking for a "normal setup" (it scared me) so i thought why not just make my loan repayments go a year longer and step up to the TRD. Can't justify (afford) the 3500SL cheapest one i've seen over here was still $43900.00. SO the question is given that my car is around the 27-28k mark as tradein, is losing the parking sensors and the climate control and the keyless entry plus the extra 5 or so grand worth a supercharger.... and i just can't make a decision. I could easily just spend a couple of grand on mods for my ZR but if i get the TRD will i still want to: upgrade and modify exhaust change to SRI and strut and sway bar
  3. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/compar...%7c0&MST=10 any opinions..... have confirmed car on left is a black TRD not ZR6 as advertised
  4. IMO if the price is right with the SX go for it. WHile i know some have been able to mod the ATX to look really good ithink the SX and ZR both stand out from the other models. what colour are you going for? the only real thing to look for is it seems all aurions pull to the left and many have a "dash rattle" both these problems can be fixed under warranty but with a second hand car it may have already been done! good choice!
  5. just thought i'd throw a few pics out there for the record. Its been a pretty quick 1st year with my ZR. I guess i'm looking for feedback and opinions on what i have and haven't done. As much as i'd like to, this car has never and probably will never go on the track. thanks for any feedback. So what i've done so far: 18'' ROH FLash wheels (which i'm now considering selling, tastes have changed over the year) AVC - 6901 in dash GPS - very happy with except for ipod connectivity reverse park camera replaced all speakers - JVC 6x9's custom front grill 35% window tint - bolle' brand from tint-a-car Debadged rear - left toyota emblem on 4 door lights replaced with red LED's and UV light in roof just for Sh%ts and giggles TRD floor mats - $65.00 bucks why not - special discount through friend custom plates - no comments please!!!! whats left to do: front and rear sway bars suspension - king springs - 35mm only - booked in! blackened headlights - have 6000k HID's to install once this is done exhaust - still don't really know what though??? CAI or pod or something?? maybe blackened roof or racing stripes along the sides???
  6. HI there, i've trialled this as well by shifting into "S" and gearing up to 6 and leaving it there. A lot of clean gear changes and a little more responsive then the normal auto. Found the cars computer kept this and car drove a bit quicker afterwards. Rising fuel costs left me back to "A"
  7. not necessarily anyone here but spotted a black extra cab hilux on monday while driving through Mandurah. Very nice finish with angel eye headlights!
  8. i'm sure its been asked before.. Where do iget a toyota owners club sticker?
  9. so that means its definately just my door, thanks for the info guys.
  10. So bottom line is that faulty remote should not prevent entry to car. will i do any damage to anything if i dsconnect the car battery and test door? once i've had the door worked on and we discover if it is a tint-a-car fault or a warranty issue......
  11. Yay my turn to rant! this is how my day went: woke up had coffee (it was good) blah blah blah and then i went shopping. anyway returned to my car at 9.30am and could not get in. first the proximity sensor didn't work and then none of the buttons. Thought ok maybe the remote battery is flat but thats ok it has a manual key... SO the manual key didn'y unlock the door. I could hear it click when i turned the key anti clockwise but door would not open. I checked the manual key in the boot and it opened fine. At this point i though i'm at a shopping centre so i'll buy a new battery (siza 1632 if anyone's interested) replaced the battery, cost of 10 dollars, and still no joy. FOr those of you who say the spare, the spare... I was in Perth and it was in Dunsborough (3 hour drive) I rang my local dealer who was very nice and understanding but not very helpful. He tried a manual key on an aurion in the lot and when the car unlocked decied it must be my car battery. he suggested that the door locking mechanism must be connected to my car battery somehow and thats why i could not get in. So now my only option is to break in to my car (there was no way iwas trying to go through the boot), get it towed to the dealer which MIGHT have been covered by warranty depending on the fault but meant waiting till late n the after, or pay the $270 to join the RAC and have them break into my car. I admit i was tempted to smash a window but i could not bring myself to do it so spent the 270.00. A couple of hours later, which i think is pretty good well done RAC!!! i was in my car and after going through the manual was able to start my car by holding the remote to the push start button and the same time as depressing the button. I have learned that i can start my car but cannot lock it with this remote. SO now my car is running and i go to my local dealer who has promptly blaimed the company who did my window tint for the manual key not working. When i book my car in for a service in a couple of weeks this will be checked but i thought it a bit strange he blaimed the battery and now blaiming tint-a-car. Once i got home a confirmed the spare remote will lock and unlock my car. The moral of this story and my request to those with keyless entry is test your manual key and make sure it works! if it doesnt work please let me know so i can go back to my dealer and question this. Also any other cases similar to this? I am convinced i have a faulty remote and should be a warranty issue (i think) but the manual key should be pretty straight forward...... I think i'll sell my ZR6 and buy a 3500S, i'll end up with grandfather knobs for aircon but at least i'll have an old fashioned key thanks for listening to my rant!
  12. it is official! i have a man-crush on Daryl! this is awesome thankyou so much for the time taken and willingness to share!!

  19. mate being in west australia, i can't help you although it is clear to me that brisbane is the best place to own an aurion. most of the modified cars here are from brisbane and you'll find all the "how to's" in the pinned FAQ.. good luck and good choice

  23. THREE people have had a lucky escape after their car demolished a street sign and hit a sandstone fence in Bondi Junction today. The crash happened around 1am just past the intersection of Old South Head Rd and Victoria Rd. Skid marks were visible for over 30 metres leading to the crash site and the noise woke residents as far as two streets away. By chance, an ambulance drove past the accident just seconds after it happened and immediately worked to pull the passengers from the mangled Toyota Aurion. One male passenger was taken to hospital while another female passenger had to be removed from the car through the driver's side window. The driver was unharmed and was breath-tested at the scene and taken into custody.
