If your tires still have decent tread... get the UR gear. Then keep wearing at them until you get the money recovered to get your tires for the Kappas. You will want to have some fun once you put the UR gear on, so may as well wear out tires that don't mean much to you. Then when you get your new wheels and tires on, you won't wear at them as hard.

We don't usually organise cruises as such, but we do have our weekly meet-up in Brisbane though: Brisbane Meetup (Every Thursday 8pm) I know it's a bit of a hike, but it would be good to turn up to at least a meet sometime. As for all things Aurion related, check out the forum here: Toyota Owners Club - Australia -> Avalon / Aurion / Aurion Sportivo If it's been done, there is a good chance of it being mentioned there. There are certainly others out there who have probably done other great things to their Aurions, but finding them would be a little more difficult.

The entire speaker assembly is different, but the physical speaker size and mounting holes should be in the same place. The reason for this is because the front speakers have to have different clearances compared to the rear speakers. I wouldn't advise making your front and rear mounts the same since on the front you need to consider the window clearance, and for the rear you need to pay attention to the boot spring. As well, the physical cutout in the car body for the front speakers is larger than the cutout for the rears.

Put the rear up on stands (actually on my unlowered Sportivo, I did it with all 4 wheels on the ground ), then take a wheel off. After that, it's a piece of cake. Taking off the rear exhaust pipe mount before the y-pipe certainly helps as well. The rest you figure out when you get to it. All it needs is a little patience and the ability to vent out any frustration.

That's all good. Completely understood. As far as I'm aware, there is nowhere to tap a line into. If there was, I would be putting in a boost gauge to firstly know what boost it is running, and secondly to know when it is boosting or not for fuel economy reasons. Supposedly according to videos with the guys at TRD, the TRD Aurion is pushing 7 PSI of boost. But then again, the blower on this car is smaller than yours I believe, so it's more about the volume than the boost.

Mainly just shipping time. If you purchased it in Aus, you can get it within a couple/few days. Less waiting, more fun Nathan (Tofuboi) had fitted one. I can't remember if he still has it on or not. Personally, I believe it is a waste of money unless your car is always at the track. It won't provide as much gain during day to day driving as a rear or front sway bar would provide. I wouldn't be surprised if after fitting it, you couldn't tell the difference. On top of that, this 4 point brace sits low. Be prepared to scrape it on things.

Interested in details about these and wonder if they can be adapted to the TRD Aurion. Not so interested (and happy) about the smaller pulley though. Anyone who has seen the TRD Aurion S/C would know the problem. It's like they purposely designed it so you can't make the pulley any smaller. Lucky for you though.

Welcome mate. Are you mods relatively simple in terms of the room given to get more out of your engine, or is there a fair bit of work involved? Just wondering if TRD were more forgiving with the design of the Hilux since I haven't actually seen one (in detail) in person. You'd be pushing some good torque now as well eh.

All good. Just making sure we're on clear ground. It's just that natural competitive nature. Most people like to do things that others say is hard or impossible. They just need the right motivation. I can't wait to see your finished project. That takes some serious patience and skill to do what you are doing. On the topic of the E153, to make the idea even more tempting... how about the fact that you can get an LSD for it. Surely that should be enough to get you excited. As for me, unfortunately (when looked at in the above perspective) driving an Aurion has become too much of a comfortable daily driver. Despite how fun a manual box would be, I am just too comfortable to keep the auto there. I've grown to actually like the way everything ties in.

Well you can put some 17x7's on it with a 225 wide tire. That combo was comfortable in the Sportivo. ... but that idea is just stupid. The easiest solution in this case is to just get used to it.

Having come from a SX6 with 215 and 225 wide tires combined with the same TRD suspension, I also experience the same thing you have mentioned in my TRD. It's called bump steer and it's effect is increased due to the wider and lower profile tires. I'm used to driving with one hand/arm, and when you do this, the difference between the Sportivo and TRD is noticeable.

Well today I unfortunately ruined most of my cleaning effort. Six hours to clean and only 6 minutes of driving till it was covered in rain and road mist. Depite my anger, I guess I got a slightly good feeling watching the water bead and run up the bonnet. Then looking at all the water beaded on the roof/bonnet/boot when I parked it. Still, such a disappointment. Always by hand. I know a machine can be better, but I prefer the feel of everything under your hand. Well, I didn't take any yesterday, but just for you I made sure I took some before I left. Nothing fancy since my camera is pretty simple:

That sure puzzles me as well. Vacuum hoses don't usually come off that easily... from both ends especially. I really wonder how it happened. What makes it even more puzzling was the coincidence (?) that it was running fine up until the point that you refuelled. I guess some things may never be answered. But then again, this isn't the first case I've heard of a hose coming loose on the TRD. Elgin was giving his a bootfull (from what I remember) and while cruising along, his engine light came on. Turned out to be the PCV hose that had come loose.

Sometimes a little push is all it takes to get the ball rolling. We need less talk and more action. Call it peer pressure if you want... but hey, it get the results. Plus they get the satisfaction of knowing that they can say "take that... I did it". Look at Evan (Evo7), a little pushing went a long way.
