  1. Usually you don't need it because they all go for me.
  2. In the good or bad way? The first two words can be used to mean something good, but the moment you threw in the third word, it sounds like something is not good.
  3. No you haven't stated the same thing. Yes I'm being picky, but for the discussion here, it's the difference between a valid problem, and something that can be disregarded. You state your speedo says 109km/h, and your GPS states about 102km/h... The OP states his speedo says 92km/h, and his GPS states about 100km/h. Those are complete opposites. Notice how your GPS shows a speed lower than your speedo and the OP's GPS shows a speed greater than the speedo? Read the post again if you don't believe me.
  4. To keep it's effects running, you should just keep on using it. This is why I said it's all a personal thing. Up until my accident, I was still using it. Even had half a bottle in the glove box still. It's an ongoing thing. The idea is to prevent it from getting dirty in the first place. You can pick it up for around $10-12 a bottle and each bottle will last 11 fills (after the initial shock treatment),so it works out to be an extra $1 per tank. I personally haven't seen the effects of this product because I never really look in my tank or take the head off etc, but I guess it comes down to what you put your trust/money into. But for $24 per 40,000km for the injector cleaner, I guess it's the idea thing for most people. May as well throw a bottle in next time I pick up a pollen filter from Toyota. Not expecting anything out of it, but what the hey.
  5. Luckily I've seen such an occasion once before. ... As well, you said 'were'. Since I'm guessing your have posted this from a PC away from the meet.... I feel like saying.... .... SOFT.
  6. I got an i30 this time. Actually not a bad car for Hyundai. Has a bit more go, but the auto seems to feel like it's absorbing whatever power it has. Damn I wish I was at the meet tonight. I cleaned my car really well last night and now it's parked at the airport. I hate missing out on meets.
  7. Is it the one where there is so much cash that they have to weight it?
  8. The part I've put in bold is the type of issue the OP is stating. You have stated one thing then said the opposite. The OP is having a case where he believes his speedo is showing a speed under what his actual speed is. The scenario you have stated in the following sentences is when the speedo shows a speed over what your actual speed is.
  9. Sorry Adamsy to go off the original topic of the thread. Not that I doubt the Toyota stuff doesn't work (I'm sure it would work), just helping out with an alternative. With the Fuel Doctor, buy a couple of bottles initially. For the first time you use it, you put the whole 275mL bottle into your fuel tank. Then every time you put petrol in your car, add 25mL of Fuel Doctor before you put the fuel in your tank. The bottle has a measuring thing in it so that it's as easy as squeezing the bottle a little then pouring the measured dose into the tank. I was using that all the time on my Sportivo. To me, it felt like it was running like clockwork all the time every time. In addition to that, Fuel Doctor isn't only an injector cleaner but it also helps keep your fuel tank clean.
  10. I don't think it can be changed. But then I could be wrong. I should do some more reading on how this forum works. I just like before how it would only list one entry per thread last time you searched. Now it lists every post in a thread that has the word/s you are looking for. Just so much clutter. I think that's what you're referring to as well right?
  11. unique: You should do some research on 'Fuel Doctor'. It's all a personal thing but that's what I use.
  12. Not so awesome when you have to drive a ZRE Rolla (sorry guys).
  13. Not my friend anymore now that the forum is updated
  14. Thanks for clearing that up. Have a mate that was going to try and look further into it since if it's anything like the old Commodores etc (I personally don't know if they still do it now), then there would be some extra power to be had. At least now he won't be chasing something that doesn't exist.
  15. 1000RPM? You wouldn't be going very far with the revs that low. Anyways, on topic, does this only occur at slow speeds, or at any speed where you can manage to get the revs that low? If it's at slow speeds, I could imagine one thing that can cause that feeling/sound is when the transmission shifts from 2nd to 1st. This should only occur when the car is barely crawling or during hard acceleration however. If it occurs outside of these conditions, it's not exactly a pleasant feeling. When you hear and feel the difference, do you notice the revs jump up? If so, to what RPM?
  16. All I can say is good luck with that. No one has put in the time to even bother doing such a thing being the car that it is. Apparently, Toyota do modify them for the cop cars, but that's about as far as that goes.
  17. You think that's bad. Wait till you enquire about your 90,000km service. My first quote was $700. I then proceeded to do it myself for a grand total of $250.
  18. Such disappointment. I will no longer be able to make it out tomorrow night. Some people couldn't organise things right, so I will be in the Hunter Valley again for the next couple of days. Still go out Steven, Mick will have my grill for you.
  19. Useful link there mate. Defintely handy for those that would want it without having to deal with R-Style.
  20. Yeah mate. I wouldn't be worrying about having 200,000km on the clock. My old 1991 Camry had 316,000km or there abouts when I changed to an Aurion and that Camry engine was still running with no problems. This was a car that was used a lot for city type driving as well. Only had the usual services such as oil, spark plugs and leads, timing belt, etc. It's only if you are staring to develop serious issues then you will need to worry about changing/rebuilding your engine. No need to panic in the meantime though.
  21. Yeah mate. You should come to the meet. Would be good to have more members in the group. Plus I guess you being there can give Phil some extra hope that he needs. It's about all the poor car has left Jokes, jokes.
  22. Spotted at 7:53am travelling outbound on Ipswich Road (opposite the Sanitarium factory), a silver pre-facelift Sportivo Aurion with Thailand mesh grill. Everything else on the outside appeared stock. Standard issue plates. Anyone here?
  23. Sounds like how my last car used to behave when it came to VSC. It was so useless, you would think it wasn't even there. I doubt that issue with the Lexus would occur in any other cars. It's most likely caused in that car by a combination of how the yaw-rate sensor is placed in the car in combination with the driving characteristics. I guess this stuff takes a bit of design work to make it operate properly and they probably didn't get it 100%. Anyway, VSC is a driver aide and shouldn't be relied on to save your a55. It should be more of a last resort if anything.
  24. I thought I already posted here but I guess I didn't. Anyways, As of last week after a change in position, I am now a Field Service Engineer for DOCOMO interTouch. It's basically a fancy name for a rather simple job (well simple by the way I see it). If you've ever stayed at a hotel that has in-room pay-per-view movies and/or internet, I'm the guy that installs and maintains that stuff. Pretty much involves the setup of Linux/Microsoft based servers, MATV (analogue TV) work including cabling, IPTV integration, network configuration including cabling, and troubleshooting. Troubleshooting is where a lot of time is spent. Being part of the hospitality industry, if things aren't 100%, people like to complain. Was basically doing the same thing for the last couple of years, but as a contractor. Now I'm actually employed by the company. This now results in less travel but at least the same amount of money. The benefit though is that everything is more stable... and I finally don't have to worry about sorting out my own tax. On the side, I can do TV and network installations, extra-low and low voltage electrical work (so up to 1000V AC or 1500DC), intermediate mechanical work, and that's about it really.
