  1. Welcome officially to the forums. I still can't get over how nice it feels to sit in a Supra. I've never had the opportunity to do so before. Hmmmm.... getting ideas now of a weekend toy.
  2. Albert Vorne - Formentera What [Gareth Emery Remix] Shorter version for you guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwtGdHurisQ
  3. Have a look here and see if page 34 onwards is of any use to you: http://www.camrystuff.com/manuals/Gen5/72_Seat.pdf
  4. For what you are after, I would suggest getting a K&N SRI or any other custom made intake. This will give you the quiet driving in the normal rev ranges, but when you put your foot down, it will roar. No need for an exhaust when this intake sounds great. There is barely any restriction after that front y-pipe by the way. Changing the rear mufflers alone isn't going to help anything towards this 'engine suffocation' you say is there.
  5. Agreed. If you managed to find a chip (good luck with that by the way), it would still have to work together with the rest of the stock ECU, and I reckon there is only so much it can do. Speaking of aftermarket ECU, where are you 'MartysAurion'? You are meant to have your Motec fitted by now.
  6. With respect to moisture on the pads, brakes can get a bit noisy when they have been wet like while it is raining or just after washing the car. This sound should only be there fore a couple of applications of the brakes though... unless you are driving in the wet. As for just noise in general, I have found the TRD brakes do make a fair bit more noise when stopping when compared to brakes on the non-TRD. This is more of a light grinding sound, but not one that would make you concerned. More like sliding metal on a cutting stone. I think this is more due to the fact that the stock TRD pads are rather abrasive and combined with a larger surface area, they just make that noise. That though is nothing to be concerned about and you only really notice it if you are paying attention.
  7. Damn.... I kinda wish I bought a Supra. Was good to meet a few new faces tonight and see some familiar faces again.
  8. This is Brisbane... we're all regulars
  9. Holy crap! I barely use Photoshop (mainly cause I can't use it) and things like that look amazing. I like the last one how it completed that panorama image. That was crazy.
  10. I would imagine it taking a bit more than a 'little extra cash'.
  11. You can quite easily leave your aftermarket K&N panel filter on the car when you get your service and they will still stamp your logbook and perform the rest of the service according to their specifications. All that will happen is they will not do anything to your filter. It is just advisable to let them know before hand by telling them that your air filter is fine and they don't need to inspect/change it. They will take note of this before the service and have that note there when they come around to servicing it. Otherwise, if you don't tell them, they will simply just look at the filter, realise what it is an then leave it, saying that they inspected it etc.
  12. Damn... don't accidentally drop a spanner over that busbar Can't wait to see the other 70%. I love surprises.
  13. I'm pretty sure this argument has been brought up time and time again, but I will start from scratch since I've got some time to waste. How do I feel about my Aurion? Well, I've got two cases here so I'll start with my first one. It had dash rattles, it creaked here and there, the steering had a knock to it... but still, I loved the car. What the car lacked for in it's minor build quality issues, it made up for it in performance. Bang for your buck was what that car was all about. Now my TRD, that is another story. I know I will jinx myself in saying these, but here I go. This car feels like it was built somewhere else. It's like it was taken off the standard production line then built by someone who wasn't in any particular rush. It feels so much more solid inside, the dash doesn't rattle, the console doesn't creak, the parcel shelf doesn't even rattle when the bass it turned up and the bass is even clearer. Even the outside doesn't rattle as much as my last car when I turn the bass up. But in general, I am highly satisfied with the Aurion despite it's (what I call) minor flaws. It is a car with a good engine and drivetrain, it can perform quite well, and the price doesn't break the bank. On top of that, service and parts don't particularly cost the world as well. For an Australian built car, it's not bad.
  14. From past experience, red does seem to fade a bit more than other colours, but it's usually that non-metallic looking red that tends to fade more for some reason. Just to let you know, factory paint protection doesn't really protect your paint much. It will have no effect on slowing down the natural fading that will occur with your paint. Don't be overly concerned though. It's not like it's going to fade badly. Just take good care of your paint with proper maintenance as listed in the forums here and you shouldn't even notice your paint fading. It may get slightly lighter over time, but you shouldn't notice it. The area that you debadged will not turn out any different to the rest of your car.
  15. Well, with work being the way it is now, I should be there every week from now on. Can't wait for another pasta night though.
  16. Oooohhh. Excitement. Fujita? Man I can't wait to see what it is. Well, there is cheap (which I'm fine with), then there is really cheap (which I pushed my limits with). I thought I could get away with a $39 HID kit. Actually, the kit seemed quite okay. The way it was shipped though was pretty dodgy. The lamps were protected in their plastic cylinder things, but the ballasts were in a thin cardboard box and then the box placed in a shipping paper-type bag. Basically it was just as protected as shipping the ballast in an envelope. You can probably imagine what the parcel went through on its way here. First day of use, the HID's were fine. Second day resulted in the passenger side one starting up then going Supernova bright then a pop kind of sound. Lamp looked alright, ballast felt like a million degrees. For the price of the kit, I CBF sorting it out with the seller.... I just bought another one from someone else.
  17. Nice buy Andy. Tony sure does look pretty damn clean for his age. Looking forward to seeing more pics of him.
  18. Nice one mate. She looks pretty clean from those photos.
  19. yeah it is, first time I've been under the car since I got it. I wonder how many problems this will cause...! Meh... that oil is nothing. Should have seen my old Camry. Engine bay was about that oily. Never had issues... just never really cleaned it. As for me today... I changed my parkers to some LED's. Was waiting for the final ones to arrive in the mail. Now all I need to do is put in another set of HID's since my last ones didn't quite.... last.
  20. You brakes are crucial to the operation of your car. As well, brake fluid is hygroscopic which means that it absorbs water. Now even though your reservoir is sealed, the is always the possibility that moisture can make it past the seal and introduce a small amount of moisture into the brake fluid. When this happens, you get a spongy feeling. It's just preventative maintenance really. It doesn't cost much to change, and it's always better to be on the safe side. With the rate I was using my brakes in my old Sportivo, I was changing fluid at 20,000km intervals or there abouts. Yeah, you can do that if you want. I would advise ordering a '65mm/67mm cap style oil filter wrench' though because the Aurion uses a cartridge style oil filter. You can remove the cap without the special tool, but I'm not going to advise how to do that here because it's just something you shouldn't really do. Plus I don't want to be held accountable if you break something.
  21. It's like telling the guy who goes to the gym every morning that he doesn't have to go so often. It's all personal preference. That happens at 160,000km. Believe it or not, it doesn't actually need to be changed before that as long as it's always got the pink Super Long Life Coolant in it. That should be changed as part of the 90,000km service.
  22. Oil that goes darker in colour is usually said to be a good sign that the oil is doing it's job of catching all the impurities in the engine. That said, a good engine may stay relatively clean, and and oil doing it's job won't necessarily go that dark. On my old Sportivo, I only did the mid service (7,500km) oil change a couple of times. Over the 99,000km that it travelled in it's life, and when I changed the oil at the 15,000km mark, it was coming out dark, but this was when you look at it all together in the one lot. If you spread it out over a clean white surface, it still had a dark golden colour to it. My old Sportivo was still going strong despite having oil changes at 15,000km.
  23. Very good point there mate. Man I am really not paying attention these days. Completely didn't look at the attached photo to see that the headlight washers were on the bumper. I guess it is an Aurion Grande (as it is known there in the Middle East). So for the OP, I guess what has been said here by u54mot would be the case. They are a D4S bulb which as said, can be found on eBay. I'm not sure if warranty would cover it considering they didn't last all that long, but if they weren't able to cover it, then buying them online is the way to go. I would aim to get 4300k-5000k to get optimum brightness and closest match to the stock HID colour temperature. Otherwise, if you can't get that, 5000k-6000k should still be fine.
  24. Shame they don't make one with a 2GR model underneath the hood.
  25. Better start saving then. Knowing Toyota Australia, I'd be predicting it to sell for around $40k or more.
