  1. Hi just joined the the club too .Just ordered a black Grande with nudge bar , side rail ,beige leather.About a 3 month wait.Has any one got any pics of there black kluger? How does black go with our hot summer? The aircon works really well. I didn't get black because you can see every bit of dirt on it. I had a black Grande for a test drive for 3 days. It didn't rain and I only drove of sealed roads, but it looked filthy when I took it back. The graphite looks cleaner for longer, even though it's not. Once we order in about a month, we were debating over tidal blue, pearl white, graphite, but even though its alot more maintenance(washing), we have decided the black will look the best(If kept clean). Im going to use the waterless wash and garage it nightly, so hopefully i can get the kids involved in doing some of it too!
  2. With some idiots on the roads these days, ABS is essential, i wouldnt buy a car without it. With the vibrations, some cars(toyotas) are louder than others, and vibrate more. These is not because they cannot engineer this feature out, they deliberately do this tell the driver that these features are in operation, ie, you may need to back off and not push your car so fast in the wet for example. This will be my first car with stability control, it will be interested to see how this feature goes offroad! By the way, when i tested the brakes on the kluger on a dry piece of bitumen, the brakes from 90km to 0km, it was better than a vz SV6 we had. No abs intervention was required. I was VERY impressed considering its weight... Yeah it stops pretty good, its got pretty massive disks thats probably why they work so well. They are like pizza dishes! Anyone driven this offroad? I have seen reviews which indicate they are quite good offroad.
  3. Hi, there was a deal to purchase them before the end of Feb and you got free installation. First 4WD place I went to wanted $700, the second $638. I had to tell the 4WD place about the free install, and they get a rebate back from Bushranger or something. But the Bladerunner steps have been available for the Kluger II, at least since late Feb. Apart from looking good, does it look strong? The standard ones toyota use have quite a large diametre on the actual tubing, which to me looks tougher?? They quoted me $820 installed for them, but this is pre gst price as i will be novating this vehicle. Cant believe the nudge bar is just $680 installed. You'd think they would cost more..
  4. Has anyone heard when the new TOYOTA PRADO is coming? I read somewhere that toyota will see be running out the current model to makeway for the new prado... Im looking at the kluger but if there is a new prado coming around the corner, will a better turbodiesel, and foldaway 3rd row, it would be great to know when.
  5. Wiper blades like brakes etc, are wear and tear items which would not be covered by the $150 service plan i dont think, when a dealer services my previous cars, i always say dont change the wipers, dont put it through the carwash,( when i had a minor hail damage repaired, they ruined the rest of the car by putting it through a carwash! circular scratches on every panel including the freshly painted one!) Unless toyota offer a hand carwash, i wont let anyone touch the kluger.
  6. I would be interested to know what is involved as well. I am getting the Toyota ones fitted next week and two dealers have quoted me between 2.25 to 3 hours to have them installed. Sounds like a really long time as I thought it was just bolted on. Maybe they just over estimate so they can cross charge more (it was meant to be delivered with my car, but they didn't have stock)...Saw some aftermarket ones and it was advertised as "easy to install". I had a look at these aftermarker nudge bards and side steps, but after looking at the price and the quality of the toyota ones, im going genuine for these and the towbar. The side steps for example look like they would protect the car very well, maybe not from car doors, but it has been fully tested to not interfere with the side and curtain airbags. The stereo that comes on the kxs is the $1000 after market option for the kxr, but i think they are hard to use, the volume button is so close the the side my fingers will have trouble turning it up or down. Going to look at an after market one myself, so maybe later this year i will have a near new one for sale! Got to order one first. By the way, how long did yours take for delivery?
  7. Does anyone know the price per corner of the AVAN ST in the size mentioned above? Will the insurance still cover you if you change from the factory size?
  8. It is a drive by wire throttle. After everything I've read about the Kluger traction/stability control and what I've seen with the cruise control, I'm starting to think that Toyota's solution to criticism that their previous sowftware was too obtrusive was to just introduce a delay to when it operates. Traction control in a front driver is always going to be a hit and miss situation. As you accelerate in it, the weight is transfered to the rear and therefore it is easier to get wheelspin. When towing, the front will always lift a little, therefore even less weight through the driving wheels. The same system in a commodore works far better. I have a barine SRI(FWD) and the same thing happens, if i push it hard, it will start protesting lots! Remember, the kluger has over 200 killer wasps going through the wheels. I will be going for the AWD.

  10. No RCA provision........ :( We test drove the kluger and also the calais V, we were really dissapointed in the klugers dvd, two reasons, a: As mentioned, the sound doesnt go through the audio(it does in the calais v), and b: If in use, try using your rear vision mirror, its basically useless, whereas the one in the Calais V, you can still see the road while in use. Therefore we opted not to go for the grande, apart from the faux woodgrain...yuk! kxs has all we need and then some. We will probably look at a headrest dvd option built in as we intend to do a few country trips, apparently these are available for the kluger, nunawading toyota has more info on this.
  11. I already have a quote for the black kluger ksx we are getting with nudge bar, and the details for the nudge bar indicate they will install wiring for extra driving lights, which means i only have to supply the lights, instead of buying their ones... I assume they will place an extra switch to utilise these lights which will go on the nudge bar.
  12. How much was the bladerunners? I wasnt aware that they were already out for the kluger as only 2 weeks ago i was enquiring and they said it was still under development...
  13. Anyone heard if toyota will bring out a supercharged engine for the kluger, i mean, it is the same as the aurion and that has the trd aurion with 245kw! Would add a little extra spice to what is already a good car.
  14. I have set of new 19's rims & tyres of my Grande for sale .............i fitted after market 20' If interested make me an offer.......... Hey im brand new to this site, what great info that you guys have. BTW, the tyres for the 19" rims are currently only available through toyota at a bargain price of $471!!!! EACH CORNER. Hopefully with time these get cheaper, just dont get a punchure! Im getting a black kxs soon, will order next month most likely, with side steps, nudge and towbar.
