  1. if it gets too icy, i believe you will need to turn it off. I had a commodore up at the snow and yes, its 2wd but with traction engaged, it was killing the engine due to the very low friction level of compacted snow(ice). I guess 4wd will be better but if it was the same icy conditions, i would think it would be very hard for it to move. Same with abs, your stopping power will deminish, go real slow otherwise you will ploug into other cars. If you get a chance and a safe place to test it, let us know!
  2. braking should still be ok, as it will apportion the correct amount of braking to each side and wheel to wheel. I would be more concerned in getting a flat tire! lol
  3. Since mine was adjusted, it is better, but still not very good at all.
  4. It did it again today! lol It was on MAX cold on passenger, and when my wife turned it up, it changed from face air to Feet! Didnt repeat itself, will try again tomorrow morning...
  5. Snow mode dulls the response of the accelator. therefore less likely to spin your wheels. I havent been up to the snow, i would assume you need to disable traction as a minimum if you have snow chains on, as this was the case with the holden.
  6. Anyone been on this course? I asked them and they said they have had lesser cars there than the kluger.
  7. 3.5k, a new set of tires for the current size is $2k!
  8. Has anyone found occasions where the mode on their climate control has changed. there has been several occasions where i get going, and find no air on me as it has changed to feet, or feet and windshield. I noticed the aircon cut off twice when going over bumps as well, anyone else experienced this? I hope its just me but if it happens to others, well...
  9. The low fuel light comes on quite early, i reckon u can get another 100ks from it. 450kms is good if you can get it, been using 95, thats before the light comes on...u'd get more on highway driving. This is 25% highway, 75 short trips.
  10. If you get the 7pin flat one, you can get an adaptor which converts from 7pin flat to the round, and that can be large or small round, depending. Im actually looking once again for a long neck padlock to use instead of the quick release PIN. This gives me the confidence no thief will just come and take the whole part.
  11. I mentioned my problem to them, and they will look at it when its in next, there is slight rust where the 7pin plug bracket has been welded to the towbar, i think they didnt paint it in there, they going to sand it back and spray it.
  12. I emailed last week the manufacturers, they said if there is more than 130kgs download on this, it should not be used upsidedown. They recommended the adjustable hitch, which can come in a package including stabilizer bars, but that is $700, i think i might look at just the hitch
  13. I noticed today my genuine toyota side steps are not installed right. The left one is higher than the right side? Anyone else noticed this as well on their ones? I measured the space between the car and the step, and there is a difference...
  14. Do you guys have 07 build cars? No a whisper from our car at all at any speed, cold or hot.
  15. You might be able to negotiate a better deal when purchasing it. ALso gives u good protection in the mean time from idiots who tend to run into people, the towbar has saved us twice!(in the old car)
  16. Wow how much r they? and the specs
  17. If you press traction control once only, i have found it kicks back in. Traction is off but stability is still on. Hold it down for 5 seconds to have it both turned off completely.
  18. I saw that on Test Drive, i wish the kluger had that, looks so simple and holds up to 100kgs? With the rubber cargo mat, you cant slide anything in, you must lift which isnt good for your back.
  19. I will wash my car from now on, they put a note on my account : DO NOT WASH! LOL Ayway, since it didnt rain in melbourne yesterday, my cars still shinny. Should have seen everyone walking past and rubber necking towards my car and now watching where they are going. Its a good feeling. Though some of these "experience drivers" dont take care when parking, there was nearly an accident. Anyone know of a shopping centre with extre wide parks? If people dont park properly or right on the line, i havent the guts to try and park there as yet, as it is, it feels like im going to hit theirs...lol
  20. Be aware of those wipes, i personally would check if they are moist as our local one have some marked down, so i thought id check if they were moist, they were dry as a bone. I assume a bit of water would fix it but didnt take the risk.
  21. I have never had leather before, so anyone here know what you need to do to keep the leather in tip top shape?
  22. The kluger has a pretty good ground clearance too, its 206mm, much better than territory and nearly as much as a pajero at 210mm. I still would like to see how good the kluger is to know its limits, anyone got a dirty muddy backyard?
  23. the granda had the other stuff but that was 80k! the space didnt seem anywhere as big as the kluger, may go better offroad, but you never know.
  24. I tried two regular polishes, even though it shimmering now, i will have to eventually use cut and polish to get these out... Is that car wash the waterless one? I use the wash and wax one which gives it a polished look as well, i mean, i wash it about 5 times and never has it come up as bad as what they did.
  25. After we had the 1000k checkup, the dealer gives it a free car wash, hand wash. I would have refused if it was a machine, but i though hey it will be as good as ours. It seems the wash was ok. but they missed a few spots of dirt, no worries, the 'Intelligent' guy that comes around after to dry it with a shammy rubs it all off....not even a bucket of water to rince the shammy! Well talk about scratches gallore. and they claim it cant be them! Thats it, NO ONE WILL WASH MY CAR EVER AGAIN! Will attempt to polish these imperfections out today, i'll let you know how i go. I cannot believe they would go around doing this unknowingly. I meant, when i picked the car up, it was spotless, not it looks at least 6 mths old not 3 weeks... Very dissapointed Frankston TOYOTA. Although the service was thorough, they fixed the little things i had mentioned, you know, like the handbrake not holding the car on my driveway.
