  1. There is a new tyre available in december hopefully, its the 245/55R19 Open Country HT tyres by TOYO tyres, apparently The us highlanders have these already.
  2. All you need to do is turn the wheel full in one direction, check the wear on the front wheels, if it seems like mine to wear more on the outside edge, then you probably need to get it aligned and rotated, rotated so that the wear can be minimised on the rear wheels. If it seems evenly wearing, i guess its ok to do nothing, but i gather the fronts wear quicker than the back as its doing 2 jobs. SO if you want the whole 4 tires to wear out together, then rotate.
  3. I cannot believe my luck. Got myself a punchure today, luckily it wasnt the spare i was using. I decided since i had one spare and the new one they gave me, i'll leave the new one and keep the damaged one as a spare, well, the rim and tyre they replaced for me is NOT THE SAME< mines a grey coloured for the KXS and the GRANDE RIM is what i was given and its actually whiter! Back to toyota again tomorrow....to fix.
  4. I did buy it new, they are able to provide a 2nd set at their cost, they would have bought the car off someone, traded it in, and probably taken the missing key into account the price they paid. What happens when you lose that key, you can simply call the other half and get them, you'll be stuck...
  5. I would insist on the 2nd main key with 2nd remote, thats what we were given, too bad the valet key doesnt limit the car to 20km/hr and 1st gear only lol I'd give it to the wife as a joke 1 day!
  6. been driving the car to and from work for the last two weeks, its averages 10.8-11L/100kms, not too bad, as my barina SRI, which always encourages me to rev, does nearly 10L! Oh well back to the SRI this week
  7. The Liquid injection will be available "after christmas" was the answer, so i gather 1st quarter of next year. I cant wait, just 59c a litre over here, and i can use my fuel dockets too! What a bonus. It would be interesting to do a dyno before and after conversion to see if it is really true, but i just dont get why they charge so much to service the gas system, one quoted more than the regular servicing would cost for the rest of the car! lol
  8. I have seen that article and noticed a little noise in the morning, after i get out of the back streets, its gone. I dont believe there is anything to worry about.
  9. Came to a resolution today, they replaced the worst tire of the front 2 with a brand new one, thats the front left which was feathering badly on the outside. Happy here as this costs $470! Just had the 10k service today, all ok, im keeping a very keen eye on things upfront, also fuel economy has dropped recently to 10.8L using 95 shell, although it was mostly highway and with NO AIRCON(just myself) I think this would continue to drop if i travelled further, as im going to adelaide next weekend, this will be the first "outing" in it. WE shall see how it goes at 110km/hr on long distance. It'll be interesting to see.
  10. wow. thats fantastic! Would it be the same with the S modeL? anyone can provide a before photo of a kxR?
  11. frankston, but preston aitn that far. I'll check it out later when i have less to do. I do want to do this prior to getting the gas, and redo and check the difference. Interesting to see if there is any
  12. I was quoted $4600 and $4650. So slightly more and apparently 5% more power?
  13. Can i ask how much you were quoted?
  14. Wonderful, i go around a roundable, BANG! a glass bottle was hidden from view and has sliced through the tread, i this its deep, luckily hasnt punchured it, but maybe i should change the spare now, incase it pops, went deeper than the tread depth! And i had to do surgery to pull all the glass out. PS: dont do the rotation until you align, it would then ruin your rears as well!
  15. It would only be unbalanced if a weight has fallen off, this is unlikely but can happen immediately after getting new tires, if they dont attached the lead correct. The alignment has been done, but now slightly pulls to the left, i think this would be the wear on the tyre causing this, as the toyota test result from the alignment shows its correctly aligned now, cant wait till they rotate the tire at 10k
  16. Its whichever is the latest system...
  17. lpgas has said as it is the gas injection system, unlike the old systems, there is no power loss, just approx 15% more fuel use when using gas, i worked out i would recoup the upfront within 30k-37k depending on price at the bowser, which for me, i travel a fair bit, did 65k last year alone... It will be less with the kluger but i would like to travel with less cost, and also an upside is long time between fills, today gas here was 50.5c a litre, i paid for 95 premium $1.44.5....thats a big difference! Without the spare, if i go caravanning, i'll pop the spare in the caravan lol

    Gas

LPGAS1 have a new kit for the kluger out today, $4650, gas injection, so all the electronics are still working, the cylinder replaces the spare tyre. Anyone else know other companies doing the same or have had this done?
  19. update I have noticed that when i fill up on tuesdays, the fuel economy increases. I have been testing a few independant places and found one which had extremely good results, was doing 14 on shell and with the same trips to school etc, shopping, regular independant fuel was 11.5! I havent had a chance to use bp as yet(none close) anyone got petrol they find works well?(avg since i bought car is 13.7! which i hope will drop dramatically after we return from adelaid!
  20. Found on the bridgestone website that this tyre can have an alternate, which is the Dueler HP Sport, a sportier tyre apparently, which is 265/50/19. Anyone know what the price of these are? They are speed rated Y which is 300ks! lol, the originals can only go 180! Anyone in the know?
  21. You might end up with the player installed upside down lol Glad to hear your leaks have been fixed, did they find out why it was leaking? manufacturing fault or human?
  22. I read recently that the kluger(2) was crash tested and i havent heard if it was 5 star or 4 like the old? Anyone seen this?
  23. wow. you asked them not to wash and they still did it. It shows how much they care about their cars if they do that, i take 1 hour to wash fully my car(black as well) and sometimes i dont get it all perfect, they get it dont in 10 minutes, obviously a rush job, i'll never get anyone to do mine at all. I have a bottle of cut a polish that i bought to see if it will fix it, but i hazzard to use it yet as it is still so new! Though i think the magpie that was on my bonnet attacking the bonnet protector left a few marks too!
  24. Update Problem solved(i hope), the alignment was way out, 4.2mm out, each side, so total over 8mm! No wonder it was "feathering", as they call it They aligned all 4 wheels for free, but would not do anything about the tyres being worn unevenly. They say it is only covered under warranty if it was detected withint the first 1000ks, come on toyota, hows any tyre going to show problems with that little ks on the clock. Oh well, my suggestion guys is if you think it is not wearing properly, insist on an alignment for free. $88 normal price for 4 wheel, which was done in house, so i have a copy of the report. Ill see how the tyres go now that this problem is gone, they also recommend alignment every service, wow, service is $150, add $88, thats not on...unless it was 20ks between intervals...
