  1. APPARENTLY INDEPENDANT SUSPENSION, PROBABLY BE ABLE TO RAISE AND LOWER IT LIKE THE LAND ROVER SYSTEM. yES LEXUS HAS THAT GREAT ENGINE, AND THEN ITS A LEXUS, SO ADD EVEN MORE $$$ There are no detials of the v6 turbo diesel but maybe that will offer more torque...? Im more interested in power, as i will go offroad, i will spend 98% onroad, good to have that power for certain situations, i think the kluger is great say 60-80 or 80-100, but at 40-60 it doesnt kick down They expect it not this year, but next year, my lease ends june 2011....interesting...hopefully the prices are not as high as the LC200.
  2. yes has a landrover - ish look about it, the vents, the windows ... but still looks good, 8 seater which is even better, and split fold rear seats
  3. Here you go, how about the new patrol V8, 293kw 5.6L with 550nm. Now thats sounds very tempting...why cant toyota improve its 202kw 4.7L v8 petrol? Anyone seen it? fantastic. heres a link http://www.carmiddleeast.com/article-1-117...issan_patrol_v8 WOW I think i might have found my next car.
  4. Can i ask, do you have to pay extra to get digital tv? Also what goes into the black button spots along the bottom? DOes it come with replacement buttons or do we have to source this ourselves? Add too long so didnt read all of it....if it answers the question
  5. For me confort is having space, and as far as we were concerned, the spare offered in the kluger was superior! I would be more than comfortable to go travelling (6 foot by the way) in the 3rd row for several hours, interstate - maybe not - definitely locally. Cx9 would use more fuel and the front seats had a LARGE CONSOLE compared to kluger, just got the feeling it was smaller...
  6. nope, even the locking bar slides without a problem. I dont think i would buy a car now without a towbar, just to save my car! It wasnt a hard shunt but would have been enough to damage the bumper bar if it wasnt there. Imagine if i wasnt in the car and i came back and they had gone!!
  7. Well you can always for FWD and reverse it up the hill lol! I went AWD and dont regret it, it chews a little more fuel(since new avg 14L premium 98 most of the time), but whats the price of safety? I can take off in the wel full trottle if i need to and not a sign of slippage, in fact, only time it does slip is when your pulling out of a side street in a wet road full lock...i cant imagine what a fwd would do with 1 particular intersection i know of, as its an 80km zone and you cant dordle around there as there is a blind crest and you must get going as i have been on the other side with people pull out SLOW and you nearly run up their A** btw - towbar saves the day again, another car has ran into the towbar at the shopping centre whilst i was in the car, no damage to my car, his bumper left 2nd best....thats the 4th time i know of that it has saved me! Get a tow bar!
  8. All you have to do it press hard, and down decrease your foot pressure and the light stays on indefinitely...i do this at lights, as it seems i have a lead foot, works on the brake pedal too lol as the lights are about to change, i let go and start going as it turns green.
  9. With any brand, your bound to have problems. At least i say toyota are proactive to get things fixed, unlike ford for example who have customers front ends on early territories falling apart! I had a ford which blew a gearbox and diff(twice for diff), holden had a lose bolt which means the tailsharf was wabbling for a while until they realised that this caused damage to the gearbox. Im happy it hasnt broken down, although at the 40k service, i will ask about the oil thing and ensure i get the best.
  10. Anyone got pics of their pride and joy wearing bigger wheels, please also let us know the dimentions, ie tyre size.
  11. tyre pressure on front is always on 42pis, tyres max is 44. Yes it only wears the outside, but after stripping and re-fitting the tyre with the inside now on the out, i get twice as many k's from the tyre, woohoo 20k! thats why its good in the middle and useless on the sides. camber angle checked also when alignment was done. Tyre size, i was meaning 20" or 22", not just bigger tyres on the 19'...any suggestions? especially from those who have got 22' already, hows the wear rate?
  12. I gotta try something to fix or resolve my alignment issue, toyota say its normal to scrub the outsides of a brand new tyre in 10k! i've got 2 tyres with about 6m in the middle and with virtually nothing left on BOTH sides since i have the trip and fit the tyre to use the "good" side... I've have toyota, bridgestone select and another tyre mod do alignment and tyhey all say its spot on according to the computer.. DO you know if increasing the wheel size, say 20 or 22 inch would help or make this worse? SOme say worse and some say better....?
  13. thanks buddy, im looking at a car with a worn leather wheel and instead of replacing maybe they can redo...?
  14. Hey, do you have the number for blackmans? DO they do just steering wheels or can they do other parts of the car?
  15. was it the factory unit that was stolen? If so they would have to had some experience with it to be able to take it out, its not as if it is a standard double din unit. I believe it would be worthwhile, since there are alarms which can also go off when people stand too close. I constantly find my other car left unlocked after being gone the whole day and the damn thing is still in my driveway lol Maybe it might be cheaper investing in a wired sensor light for your driveway, that way it scares them away, or at least lets you know someone is there!
  16. Has anyone had this done to any car before, apparently they use a new form of alignment which checks it whist the car is rolling on a dyno>>>???
  17. Has anyone checked the new prado out? Come on toyota, if you really checked it out, i think it feels smaller inside than the kluger does! Best feature - automatic 3rd row seats via 2 buttons, as the seats as split...bet it will come in the kluger update?? new engine is more powerful than ours(damn)....lockable diffs in the grande...now thats worth the extra dollars...but space wise, i dont think its much bigger, if at all! Dissapointing. why not give us a V8 prado too! as not all of us can afford to go to the 200series! If i was going to spend that much cash, why wouldnt i think of Landrover disco4?
  18. Better make sure that you get a new damp cloth in future:) I got nowhere with regards to my 'acceptably excessive tyre wear', whats this fellows name? i have stretch my originals now to 30k! thats by flipping the tyre on rim to have the 'toyota natural wear' to occcur to the other side of the tyre, gave me an extra 10k! tyre now is scrubbed on both sides but the middle looks as good as new! lol new tyres are in shed ready for installation sooooon...before winter i spose. I taking this thing to a tyre and suspension specialist next month to investigate this, and fix it before the new ones go on.
  19. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/07-09-Toyota-Kluger...=item2a03c7f925 WOW - if only i dont need to use the tow bar, this would certianly prevent supermarket trolleys damaging our baby! Not a bad price too, not compatible with towbar fitted cars(i asked already!)
  20. yes, the kxsleather wheel, the one this i thought when i test drove it for the day was that it was not very padded, which compared to previous cars it was really one of the very few imperfections, though, im use to it now lol
  21. Back on the traction control issue, press once quickly and the traction is off, but if you lose grip it kicks itself back on. If you hold for 5 seconds, both lights come on and in this mode, it doesnt kick back in. To put it back on, you dont have to pull over and restart, simply press the button one more time and its all back to normal. since its a 50:50 drive from front to back, wouldnt traction controlbeing on assist you more than not?
  22. sorry to break it, we found no difference with fuel economy, maybe even higher usage as you had to push harder to get going!
  23. Mate, what size 22" did you get? and any photos? black is good but yeah, it is hard to keep nice:)

actually, i believe they are the same size, just custom fit as above rather than a generic one, to be honest, i didnt think it as was worth the money. PS: watch out on your front outer tyre wear, it can be severe, i'd recommend you get it alligned straight away.
  25. 40k in two years is average kms. 2nd hand one wouldnt be bad, just watch our and test drive it to see if it has the dash rattle a few have reported on earlier models. awd 7 seat kxs is what we chose, for comfort of leather and it was Sooo much nicer than the kxr we looked at. easy to clean with kids too. if you go fwd, just dont venture too far off the beaten tracks:) fuel economy suffers with awd, i get since new((now nearly 40k) 14L/100kms using premium 98 fuel, if i dare use ethanol again, this goes up to 18-20L, and regular goes up to 16L.
