  1. They are great for my kids, just wish it came out more(i have factory) so that when i want to wash the roof i dont have to get a chair to do so, as it is so close to the car i cannot stand on it safely...
  2. If you live in SA, try this item 320532972502 its set of 4 rims and tyres for $1500, so works out to be cheaper than buying 4 tyres alone new(and you can then resell rims...?) Im always on the lookout for tyres....my new set has already been feathering on the outside fronts...what a waste of wheel alignment. makes no difference rears are up to 48k's and still got another 20k possibly!
  3. mate, if you have the current model kluger and find the brake inefficient, there is something wrong with your car. Mine pulls up quicker than ever my small barina or any other car i had ever had!
  4. can the new unit show your rear view camera whilst driving forward? Would love to see that! lol
  5. yes, the guy down here said from the cat onwards, replace with 3" single pipe and still leave it unseen as it is now, no need to cut into the bar. He reckons on average it frees up an extra 15kw...i wonder. i really would love the kluger to have around 240-250kw at the flywheel, i think this is the better amount required. Lets make it easy toyota, if ford brings out a v8 in the new territory, i might have to get it.
  6. Has anyone had this done? can you advise if it sounds better and performs better? We just drove a v8 with twin 2.5inch and sounds great, much better than the same car without. Any opinions would be appreciated, been quoted approx $400 to do.
  7. Or you could get a paint shop to do this for you, wouldnt cost much for such a small part...we have kxs, got the darker tail lights as well as darker alloys!
  8. we prefer buzzer to be on, would be good at night when needing something from the car late, but oh well...
  9. if we can do this auto lock we want it. let us know if it was changeable and if there is a cost involved. Or even if they knew it could do it...lol
  10. another lesson here, when we all go to change tyres, maybe keep a good 1 of the tyres being changed as a spare in your garage incase this exact situation happens to you...even though its worn, lets say, as long as it aint quite illegal, it will be a good spare to hang onto as it is rare...
  11. lol 17 yo camry!, great car but i agree, it should be a late model spare.
  12. Also has anyone done an exhaust upgrade, to produce better note or even more sound?
  13. There is approx 1cm gap between the plastic cover and the bumper....unless you hit something, they dont touch.
  14. so your ended up getting those ! i was watching that. Was it the one with those driving lights on it?
  15. we drove on medium offroad, it went perfectly, only part where i had to approach on a direct 90 degree rather than 45 degree as it wouldnt go up due to i assume stiff suspension which meant the opposite wheels were not in contact with ground... Sand driving was great, it was solid sand so no real soft stuff, but i dont think it would go well with the soft stuff. I didnt dare go any further. Overall, not bad, i would take it on muddy tracks only with someone out there with a real 4wd and maybe a winch...lol
  16. Don't go for that tyre - Way too big, Not only for that rim width but also the rolling diameter. In physical height, standing your current tyre side by side with the one you are considering, the new one will actually be 65mm taller. The correct tyre for the model is actually a 225/65/17 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/4-X-BRAND-NEW-225-65-17-KUMHO-TYRES-KLUGER-RAV-4-&-4X4!_W0QQitemZ290396413861QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20100129?IMSfp=TL100129174001r17357 You can mix tyre sizes but only minor differences eg 215/65/17 on front and 225/65/17 on the rear. I wouldn't use different profile sizes at all As it is an awd, you will damage your centre diff if you have different size tyres, if your changing it, you need to change all including spare... Good luck
  17. Mate, if your cover fell off, is the wheel still there? I always take the wheel off prior to going to tyre places to ensure i do it myself and hence, i know nothing will fall off! You can get it cheaper than that, the tyre that is, i think closer to $500 oem. or i there is a hangkock one i spotted yesterday with some nice treads!
  18. we find the clearance more than adequate? Why would you need more? also how much does it cost?
  19. Apparently the mechanic today believes it is the intermediate steering column shaft...also the window band is a lose bolt or something... All warranty items but hopefully it is fixed.....was meant to get it back 5 mins ago!
  20. it started when going on fast bends now happens on every left turn, havet tried too many rights but seems to have multiple clicks. dont know if it is as simplee as some lose bolts...maybe it is hopefully.
  21. whilst on holidays my kxs awd has developed the clicking sound now when also turning left, now it seems everytime i turn left it happens quite often. Very annoying to have it there, did anyone get a resolution or cause of this noise???? its going in next friday for this, also drivers window had a huge BANG noise like a rock hitting it(but it wasnt a rock, it was a noise inside the door itself, and now when it is about 2/3 down it has a crack sound , still goes up and down but not testing it anymore inccase it doesnt go back up! Also 12v socket stopped working(lucky there is two in front) Also side step black grip thing is coming off on one of the doors. hmmmm.....just a 10 day holiday and all these go wrong plus a great huge stone dent on the bonnet, right in the middle!!
  22. i;ve seen a kluger with 285/35/22! fantastic looking, very wide. Looked great and fitted well!
  23. Yes, i reckon they look fantastic, but only if the output was equal to oem If your finding oem not bright enouhg, you should invest in those 50% globes which is meant be brighter. Our kxs already has a grey tinge to the tail lights, so it is factory darkened...lol Currently it is located below us in the lower deck of the spirit of tassie....we love the lights on the kluger, i would say its above average for most cars
  24. No legal advice ... but in future like i do, i wash it myself. Unfortunately when i had my 1k service, the guys didnt wash properly and then when they go and wipe down the water, the dirt on the car was rubbed off leaving multiple scratches everywhere. Not as bad as that though. Good luck with it mate. Were you able to see any roof section there that it may have hit? overhanging piping or something?
