  1. We looked at the cx9 and found the interior space inferior to the kluger, also the fuel economy would be worse. Therefore even though it looks bigger, in reality, it isnt. In fact i believe due to the way the kluger is designed. it would have more interior space than its Prado big brother, i just saw that in the showroom yesterday when i was getting the 1000k checkup. Although i would have liked the lockable 4wd system for offroad and the adjustable suspension...but for $80,000! get out of here!
  2. The cup holders are great for long trips, one for softdrink, one for coffee. Need all the caffeine you can get! lol We always use to have problems now there is none. Water can go in the LARGE door pockets.
  3. Tire pressure too low could skew these as well, run both my cars on 40psi, on the high side but they go to 44.

    towing

With towing, if there is two lanes in the one direction, go the fuel efficient speed if you like, when its only one lane, if you dont want to or dont feel comfortable, when you can pull over and let the cars go. I did this on a rough pieces of road where i felt uncomfortable going the limit. Its courteous to do so and also place less stress on you knowing they are on their way.
  5. The light your refering to is a LED. On at night unless u dont use driving lights... It gives the gear stick area a slight illumination without outside people being able to see this, unlike how the normal reading light would likethe cabin. The 2 second anti roll back, it seems to activate at the lights, i seem to press the brake pedal hard and activate it. I have to aware as if i dont lift off a bit, when the lights are green, my brakes are still on! Also keeps the brake lights on too btw.
  6. Anyone got a spare grassy hill they need de-grassing? lol Does anyone know whether it snows up at the cathedral national park?
  7. I have found the 5 speed to be quite good, i think at 110- it was revving at 2000rpm. This is acceptable as if it was any lower, any sort of hill would prevoke a gear change. I think my barina is terrible even at 100ks, its revving at a manic 3000rpm, just like a WRX! The kluger does like 80kms for fuel economy though it seems. Its the sweet spot and probably good there for towing as well.
  8. Has anyone tried using the snow mode, i have found it dampens the accellarator response and in turn, reduces the revs and i would assume, you will get better economy. Its designed for snow or slippery surfaces therefore less power to the wheels, but this has a benefit where i think fuel economy can improve. My wife says no to using it, anyone want to try it for a full tank? You can really feel it when your going from a standing start to 60 or 80, when your half way there, press then button and feel the car back off...
  9. As they are slide in towbars, you can purchase after market ones which you can change the height of where the towbar goes. I wouldnt use the normal one upsidedown, but these aftermarket ones are designed for different heights. I think they go as much as 4 inches lower than normal or something. They slide straight into where your genuine one comes out, so therefore shouldnt void any warranty i dont think.
  10. The windscreen has a protection layer of some sort, which gives it extra strenght, which is the cause of the problem with all klugers, when you look out from the drivers seat, at the 10 oclock angle, you can see the imperfection caused by this layer of stuff. I have found less rocks being flicked up to my car as its alot higher, but trucks i try to avoid being too close behind as we had a similar experience in tassie which cracked the commodore windscreen, luckily it was a work car so they replaced it when i got back. I think the rocks that are this large get wedged in between the trucks tires at the rear and get spat out at speed, quite dangerous really.
  11. No, you must assign the one you want as the main one. I left ours on the wifes phone, as she will use it mostly around town, whereas if i want to use it, i need to connect manually.
  12. Hi there, i have the kxs and the bluetooth couldnt be better. When i call my wife when she is using it, i can hardly tell she is on handsfree. Maybe the dealer didnt install the microphone properly or something, as ours is quite good Maybe see what the dealer can do about it.
  13. WE have tried vpower, then last week wife filled up with Safeway plus, regular. Fuel economy stood at 16L/100ks, this is up from 11.5 on vpower! What a difference, a longer trip on the highway only droped this slightly to 14L. Filled up 40L to test out premium 95. Will see how this goes, already the ecomony on the way home from the shop droped to 12.7L. I'll keep you posted, also anyone used Vpower racing? 100octane? Its 16c a litre more than regular...
  14. we have been pretty slow as iu have been working full time with no days off as yet, so only up to 871ks at the moment, should schedulethe 1000checkup next wk. Did your towbar come with 2 x D shackles? Mine didnt and the previous commodore did...
  15. holmesie, GLAD TO SEE. saw your other pic, it looks very diferent now. I washed mine this morning, travels to parents, and it looks the same as prior to washing now(been having light showers all day, just enough to get the dirt wet on the roads, not enough to wash it off the road! Oh well, did you get a tow bar too?
  16. Where did you get chains for the 19's from? can i ask?
  17. I must admit i liked the white pearl, wife didnt want white...
  18. Dont worry about breaking anything, its covered under warranty! lol Yeah my barina abs has a real metelic sound to it as opposed to our commodore which had a pretty good system. The 4 channel ones are twice as good as the 3 channel abs as the old 95 camry had the 3 channel and on certain angles you could get the back sliding out unintentionally as the rear brakes(1 channel for both rear wheels combined) would set the abs off in a slight S bend downhill. Doest do it in kluger, barina or commodore no matter how hard you try. I also want my wife to take the advance driver course, but she will have to do it in the barina as when i went, the course requires very hard stops and they literally scrubbed near new tires!
  19. I couldnt get mine the first two times i did it, its a palm treo 750 pda. But the 3rd time, using 1234, it worked. You can program the station buttons with shortcuts to your fav person, ie your better half for example. She drives it mainly and her LG hooks up automatically when she hops in the car.
  20. Oh No. Im one to use ABS all the time, in fact the traction control light in the barina SRI goes off daily(doesnt need any rain to). I already tested out the brakes in the demo we had, it was quicker to stop that a VZ commodore. Go figure. In the dry it was great, didnt get to test in the wet but im sure it is ok. As i own this car, i dont want to use the brakes hard before 1000ks and also they are my tires and you know how much they cost! lol
  21. since your online, im trying to have my pic of the car under the name, what do i need to update to have this done? Too confusing!
  22. Rotten egg smell comes from your catalytic converter not working. All they really should have done is replace this. Thats what i have been told is the cause of the smell(had it in a commodore years ago). Happens to all types of cars.
  23. Those prices are ok, but check mine out in a previous listing, $52000 driveaway. I pushed really hard! Thats a KXS AWD as well. with lots of accessories, nudge bar, tow, side steps, floor mats, rubber cargo mat, wiring all done for spot lights & the 5 yr ext warranty, oh and wheel lock nuts, andfull tank of petrol when i pick it up(worth it now)
