  1. Is there a fix for this problem of the selector? Can they just change the ball and plastic enclosure and are they supposed to be consumables? Is this related to the "gear rattles" problem? My experience is that when the gearbox is cold and at low speeds (e.g. 3-4K rpm), it is difficult to move the selector into the "gear sites". Most frequently, it appears difficult even to find the "gear gate" itself (e.g. from 1st to 2nd): my right hand is ... searching around. Everything becomes smooth when the car is warm and/or I accelerate very hard during changes. We could say that this car was built to be driven really fast; constantly above 5k rpm! This means driving within the city becomes a nightmare! My clutch has been replaced because of burning smells in routine driving maneuvers; it was slipping very easily. It is rather very tight now but I think this should be the right situation. I had "gear rattles" appearing above 4.5-5K rpm but my mechanics somehow fixed it up to the lift point. Probaly by inserting some of the usual soft materials. There has been no recall for selector cables change in Europe. the cable selectors where upgraded in Europe - i have them fitted. there are also bearing issues and the clutch has been upgraded twice along with an upgraded master cylinder. booking my car in for a box rebuild so hopefully........... i changed oil to valvoline full synthetic and it made a difference but when cold its a nightmare to select 2nd and even when fully warm 3rd is notchy. i thought these problems were only happening with euro corolla's? i thought yours were Jap built?
  2. The new Corolla - or Auris as its now called over here looks 5hite. back looks like a micra with a fat ar5e and the rest of it looks like a Peugot..... to make it worse the performance version we get is a diesel judging by the Auris forum on the UK TOC they are not happy with them at all. mike
  3. could you post a picture of the exhaust fitted? i want to change my b/box and love TRD stuff - over here most people go for the TTE with twin pipes as they are much cheaper than the TRD ones but i prefer the Jap style. thanks mike
  4. Thats exactly what I'm after - top work lads Mike
  5. thanks Chris I will check them out - hopefully they will send to the UK. much appreciated mike
  6. thanks for the replies - I'm gutted! we all thought they were original - look right for fakes. someone has made copies here in the UK but they look aftermarket so wouldnt match the T Sport or red Toyota badges. Thanks Mike
  7. we have a picture on the UK's TOC. if you wouldnt mind looking in the Corolla or T Sport forums there are topics on VVTL-i badges. one of our members tried Toyota Australia but they recommended he try his local dealer! The same speil you lot will have when trying to order Euro Toyota parts. They show the badge i mean - soz but i dont know how to add a link.... Thanks Mike
  8. The TTE springs are made by Eibach. Most of us over here order them as they are a bit cheaper and come with a better warranty. I dont understand why you want European stuff when Jap parts are more readily available to you and tbh better quality. I own both Jap and Euro produced Corolla's and the biggest complaint of the new Euro ones are the cheap Euro parts on them. We get problems never before associated with Toyota. mike
  9. i've been looking at a few posts - i seen a sportivio with VVTL-i stickers, its not them i'm after but the plastic badges. thanks mike
  10. hello to all TOC members in Australia. my name is Mike and i am an active member of TOC in the UK. i drive an E12 Corolla T Sport - i believe it is the Sportivio over here tho? on your cars you have them VVTL-i badges on which we dont get in England, although a fellow TOCer in the UK has got some copies made. My question is do any of you know the part number of these badges as one of my old mans work mates lives in Oz and is home on holiday in about 5 weeks time and he said he will collect them for me - but to make it easier i was going to order them before he goes so he will only have to make one trip to the Toyota dealer. your help is greatly appreciated Mike
