  1. dyno doesnt look real to me - you showed pics of the exhaust you done but nothing on the ported header and intake so i call bs on them! or riceboy as we call you on 9thgen!!
  2. good work superdave - just a couple of questions....... does you ozzy cars have digital controls for the heaters/fans ect? you defo got the temp gauge working? the usdm cars dont which makes the current harnesses not viable for me.
  3. that knob ways 150g. unfortunately they only come with 5sp patterns but i still use it on my 6sp. much better feel over stock and looks the business. shame TRD couldnt be bothered to run a 6 sp version as all our 6sp knobs lookk crap and the fake chrome wears off very quickly revealing lovely white plastic - quality ;)
  4. ^^ i've seen few of them before but missed the driven show. interesting how jason plato - who is a very respected driver - found the t sport brakes good yet you see all the lil boys complaining about them. why didnt toyota fit the optional springs then the results would have been different and i would say with decent tyres on instead of the economy based turanza's fitted to the original the cts and ctr would have been much closer. i dont think he turned the tc off neither which makes a big difference. them 3 muppets they got to test the cars - they just picked the easiest to drive and couldnt keep it in lift between shifts LOL
  5. tyre pressures are on the sticker in the glove box on our uk models. get some decent tyres, my tc is always off in the dry- mine only spins in the wet but who drives like a loon in the wet? i can drop the clutch at 4krpm with no drama and the tc off. gotta love so3's! interseting to see you guys running such high pressures - 32 recommended for under 100mph. i travel above that speed a lot and never increase tyre pressure as you will always do more driving under 100mph - am i missing a trick here? surely your reducing grip with overinflated tyres but reducing rolling resistance . i think i prefer grip?
  6. we know this - its called making a job as easy as possible. no fiddling around trying to get the connector. why are you so bothered that someone has given him a useful tip. hope you get sorted.
  7. the string makes it easy to install the replacement so you do need it. if you want to thread it without be my guest - but why make things more difficult.
  8. pull the trim off next to the accelerator on a rhd, . your looking for the aerial connector. disconnect the aerial from the connector. tie some string to the connecor on the old aerial - the string is to help you thread the replacement back to the connector.
  9. Actually is that string inside the antenna just to hold the whole thing together then? I assumed it was a wire and I'd broken it trying to waggle the thing back in. attach the string to the connector of the old aerial - when you pull the aerial out attach the string to the connector of the replacement aerial so you can feed it back in. i always put the aerial down when leaving the car - out of sight out of mind.
  10. had the same happen on me ae102 - same style aerial. disconnect the aerial connector next to the footwell - tape some string onto the aerial so when you pull it out you can attach the string to the new aerial your gonna pull through. i bought a aerial from a breakers for £5.
  11. the base run was done with cat and b/box. so there isnt a 24% increase at all. you may loose a few hp by re-fitting a cat and axle back - your having a laugh! if he was confident of the gains he would have done a fair comparision. i find it annoying when people think they can fool you with these sort of comparisions and try boost there figures. its like p&p a head then using uprated springs, retainers and a multi-angle valve job and doing a comparision then claiming the gains came from the p&p alone. seen a classic recently - the before and after dyno were done in different gears to show there was a gain! removing the cat and back section is a bolt on
  12. but you cant use it on the road! no axle back! pointless figures <_<
  13. for a lot of us in the UK the 3s e12 was dissapointing. bit of the same old- they missed a big oppurtunity with the 2zz, instead they done what they had done before many times and developed nowt new for the car. the 2zz should stay n/a.
  14. just get the piping and buy a decent dry filter - i've seen first hand the mess these oiled filters make in an intake after buying a project car and taking the motor apart.
  15. had mine done under warranty - took Toyota 1.5hrs! the guide garages have to follow over here says clutch replacement is 4hrs. 8 -9 hours!!! your gettin well bent over..........
  16. http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=87014 get a proven piggy back or even better go standalone. dont rush your choice - base maps available for standalones, still doing my research. look into wideband too........... its not something i would go into without full knowledge.
  17. if your uprating your shocks dont use the Eibachs - you'll need something stiffer. H&R have excellent reputation - typical German quality! on the ride issue - uprated shocks will destroy the ride anyway same as coilovers will, depending on how stiff they are. you can get shocks with adjustable damping, Koni always get good reviews. I'm tempted by the TRD ones (yes because of the name!) but cant decide between new suspension or a set of 18's, my eibachs are only 8 months old so i may go for the wheels (xmas prezzy from the misses!)
  18. The US Celica fellas reckon there is no CEL if you remove everything to do with the air injection. interesting - a member over here had problems when the pump failed it throws on the CEL. i asked him about removal but he was sure this would illuminate the CEL. i need to find out if all are 2zz's over here came with this pump?
  19. ye - 2 lambda's. wonder why thet stuck them on ours, suppose to be for emmissions but a pump blowing air into the manifold for 10 secs on start up dont seem worth it. i have no problem blocking the holes off but if i just remove the pump i will get the engine check light..............
  20. seems with age the air injection pump packs in and cost around $1000 your money to buy. even though i've got a custom manifold to fit with the piping for the pump i'm wanting to remove it from the car so its not an expense waiting to sting me. does anyone know how to remove it without illuminating the CEL?
  21. new TTE kit from prolex.co.uk £1700 for uk cars and £1400 for others. i need one after getting seriously embarressed by a Vauxhaul Asrta turbo!! although he wouldnt do the roundabout at 80 - 90mph!
  22. does the TTE lip fit your original E12's? the reason i ask is i want to know if the splitters you have on yours will fit mine..... i also prefer the Jap style side skirts you get on yours, i know you only get 5dr but they should fit a Euro 3dr? does anyone know the prices of these items and a supplier who might ship to the UK? i know you say you can only get from Toyota but over here some tuning suppliers also supply genuine Toyota parts as well. are these sold as TRD parts like ours are TTE?
  23. im pretty sure a low compression like that u could use 91 octane without any worries. no need for octane booster unless ur rinning high comp and advanced timeing to make the most of it. as long as its equipped with a knock sensor it will take advantage? that's my understanding anyway............... still not much point debating as he only gets 95 in his part of the world and octane boosters aint worth the money. our 2zz's are mapped for 95 - only the compressor demands 97+. but the 2zz runs way better with 99 and help keep deposits to a minimum so good for the engines performance longevity. feel for them where for some reason its deemed they must run with crap fuel - Irelands the same.
  24. not so foolish for some but i get what u mean... off topic but, how did you get that from a 2zz? on topic - its an Auris over here and opinion is divided but certaily similar feelings that you have. a thread on our uk site - one of the members was at the london motor show - i think - and toyota was gauging interest in a new t sport............. not sure how they will sort that fat Micra rear end and lets hope they remember to put the mirrors in the right place, we will see. our biggest complaint apart from the looks is the diesel engine which has stopped a lot of peeps getting the new Corolla.
