  1. 74 Yen OMFG!

Lucky I got some parts for my RX-8 just in time. I brought something ahead of time (I don't need it at this moment), some spare parts and stuff when it was still 88Yen!

Now nothing until it goes back. I hope not see cheap AUD$ like years before when it is close to 50 cents. And it won't coz there is still a demand of material for projects in which contracts has signed.

    1%..... hmmm.

I don't think the price will fall, but the margin will narrow and not much discount will be given now.

  2. I bought a TomTom One for $280 :) to go in my ghetto spex KX-S :toast: Save me on my trip to qld and finding my way around Sydney :yahoo:

Rice, she is looking at software upgrade and apparently she has a 2004 Grande with Toyota Sat Nav.

  3. Mine is always garaged so I don't think it is that noticeable for me, but I did some research (haha on YouTube) about piston slap

    I think it is:

    The best

    Others

Somewhat unique in the Subaru Boxer engine. Could you see if the writer is a Subaru owners?

It is like me saying something engine flooding ^_^

  4. I would get the X Pack, sound deadener spray and eletronic rust preventer instead of what previously mentioned.

That is ok, that is where he makes your money

I don't think there is much in the KX-R, and I still feel very silly thinking I got a good deal after $5K+ off from my Grande. I am sure they are still laughing with the margin.

  5. It is a $35,000 Leica GPS Sensor. It uses both United States' GPS satellites andthe Russian GLONASS sats. It augments its position from fixed base stations via corrections sent over the internet. I am a Naitonal Tech Support person for the survey equipment we sell and I was out looking at satellite coverage on the Gateway Arerial upgrade here in Brizzy. To get over 5hz, you have to go away from bluetooth as BT only supports serial data at a maximum of 5hz.

If you are really serious about getting accurate GPS positions at a high updatae rate, let me know.

Good info about the BT GPS. If 5hz is the limit we have to wait for the next gen bluetooth then. I only want that for autosports purpose. I know about 100Hz VBox that RiceRacer has but I am cheap, plus our races are normally timed anyway.

  6. I have access to Survey grade GPS. It runs RTK corrections (30mm positional accuracy) and updates at 20hz. At 100 kph on the GPS, my spedo reads 97kph. Also be aware that "GPS" distance (known as Ellipsoidal Distance") is different to "Ground" distance. The difference depends on your Latitude and Elevation.

Make that 100 on the speedo and 97 on the gps. ;)

That is not bad at all. I mean the speedo. What sort of GPS is this? Is that bluetooth or via serial bus?

  7. I am misunderstanding you a bit.

I think there is tape because there is no button there like in KX-S or Grande where we have climate control. I guess that is why they are taped.

So you found your lights are blue afterwards so you don't need white LEDs or you have white LEDs anyway.

Why are ours green then? Because the board is green???? I doubt they have 2 types of boards for KX-R then KX-S and Grande.

  8. I am sure I understand you fully. After refuel.... it is like averaging fuel econ over a small distance. I get 30L when I drive out and 7L when I go back home but it ain't mean anything!

You are disappointed that you don't have good economy or because you are extremely anxious of increasing fuel consumption average when the car is idling?

Change your driving style and see. The economy is best when the driving style suits it.

I keep telling my wife there is no way getting 16L/100km from Kew to Prahran and back. She even get 16L from Kew to Doncaster.

My message to her is, "use your right foot as few times as possible, even braking! Look at and judge the traffic, rolling and way better than stopping"

It is how to use the right foot too.. I cane the car off the lights when I drive and get the 201kW fully used, but I cruise afterward and get 12-13L/100km in the 60-80 zone roads.

Keep practising and you will get there. Oh and 95 RON fuel (Caltex or BP; not shell in Melbourne)

  9. Thanks Taka,

So your sensitivity (your car's! :D) is 3/5 and delay is 4/5?

    Thanks

I have done it this time~!

I told them to keep the sensitivity the same and just increase the latency (delay turn on). It seems that it turn on 2 secs after getting into the undercover parking, rather than 1 sec!

Apparently I was told, delay is either short/normal/long.

I stressed many times to them not to change my sensitivity, so default is 3/5 and should be there.

  10. Hi, I am wondering if someone else had noticed or have experienced a problem with Voice Guidance on the Kluger. I experienced it last weekend where on a roundabout, the map shows exit on third but the voice guidance keep saying exit on fourth. I thought it was a glitch so I went back to the roundabout and did it again, same thing happen. The roundabout has four exit points where the fourth is the return from where you enter. I tried navigating on the first and second and the voice guidance called it correctly. I then tested it again on another four exit roundabout and same problem occurs. I have a V14 disc.

What did it ACTUALLY said. Coz they normally will say travel sligthly on the right, take the fourth exit.

Also is there a small lane just off an exit. It happens on the princess road/street around about in Kew. There is a hidden road coming off an exit like a V shape, they count those as 2 exits!

ADDED: Look at this around about. How many exit is that! The map may not show it all but the voice guide added them all up.

  11. Got it align today at Toyota coz I cannot be bothered to go to my usual place.

Cannot convince them to bear the cost of alignment... it is pretty hard when the car is one year old and 20000km on the clock. I did try though.

They rotate and balance the wheel for me included in the $150 service.

I also ask them to adjust the auto setting of the head lamp and when I get something I will post it in the old thread that someone created.

  12. For $35 buck on a dyno day it is a lot of fun! Dynoing my RX-8 getting boring until I tubro it right?

Kluger so far: BONE STOCK; 20000km, due to have oil change and service. 16 degree day, humid, raining. 95 RON BP fuel. 35psi stock tyres. 3rd gear run. VDC off.

I am sure there is more kW if I change oil and use 98RON!

There is surely a lot of loss of power from the 4WD system and those flexible tyres. The 350Z get 145-150kW stock on the same dyno.

They have tied down my 2 tonner to get more kW on the dyno :D

Look at how rich the Air Fuel ratio is. Under 11 is obscene.... Toyota should be banned putting that much fuel in.
