How to wire up gauge..

it may seem a really dumb question but which wires in the cabin is the illuminator cable near the steering wheel... i have a ground wire and a red wire..

where to install?

another question...

how do u get through the fire wall. there is a rubber piece that blocks anything goin in there.... how do i losen it up?

what kinda gauge are you trying to install? i dont get it

oh wait - you want your gauges to light up the same time as everything else right?

thats y you need those illuminator cablez...??

yeah.. thing is.. im thinking of using the key lock button as the source of power.

theres no red or black wires...

wait..

there are 2 x blue cables with the white line

1x light blue cable and

2x white with black line

which is ground and illum?

geez im kinda unfamiliar with the electricals around the steering column...

i guess you could wire it up to the stereo.. since there is wiring diagrams of our stock head units on here somewhere.

I run the looms to the guage sender etc through the large rubber grommet in the kick panel area.

This requires the removal of the inner splash guard from the wheel arch to access the grommet, but it is by far the cleanest and safest way to route the loom.

Once you get the loom from the cabin through the grommet, you can run it to the rear of the bay or the front of the bay through either of the loom holes in the engine bay that go through to the inner guard area.

You can cable tie the loom to the body loom that runs along the top of the inner guard cavity.

That's how we ran the looms on MAP81's ZZE and all my other toyota's.
