Hey guys,

I was just wondering, since NSW has a restriction of 90km/h on Red P Platers, what is the situation when P Platers from Queensland or Victoria drive into NSW? because in those states there is no restriction of that sort for P Platers.

I ask because I have friends driving into the state, who still have their Ps.

road laws are funny...

with normal laws, you must follow the laws of the jurisdiction that you are in at the present time.

with road laws, you must follow the rules of the jurisdiction you are licenced under. so therefore, in NSW, you travel at the speed limit, not at 90km/h.

However in saying that, if your friends do get pulled over, tell them to be nice and friendly to the police officer, and explain the situation. Don't just flash your licence and say 'deal with it buddy im not from here' cos they can still book you for something!!!!!

I do think that 90 kph law is silly. Better to have more driver training. Having people sitting on your butt in 110 kph zone must be frustrating as hell.

I was originally from NSW and it was so frustrating when on your L and P plates, it really sucked. Poeple sit on your ***** everywhere you go, and the moment an overtaking lane comes up they get even closer in the hopes of getting past you even faster :S
