Hey guys~

i was wondering, is Dual VVTi similar to VVTL-i?

Does Dual VVTi hav somehting similar to lift? cause wen i floor it, it feels like wen it passes a certain RPM point it goes harder, or is that just the toruqe kickin in?

thanks

As far as I understand it it's not lift at all.

VVTI is basically variable valve timing on the inlet side.

Duel VVTI has both variable valve timing on the inlet as well as exhausted side. It does not have extra injectors or any thing like that...

Must be the extra torque you are feeling :D

Even though it might not have 'lift' kicking in, is it possible that it is the 'variable' part kicking in or becoming more agressive at a certain rpm??

Cheers,

Probably just the way the torque becomes available to the engine as a result of the valve timing

So yea I'd guess more agressive at certain RPM

Its probably because the torque peak is at a quite high 4700rpm on the Aurion 2GR engine - I also find the same thing in mine.

2GR has VVTi variable in/exh timing - not lift. VVTi increases low/mid range torque - not top end much.

The 2GR design is quite oversquare which make things a bit lackluster down low - however the 6speed auto disguises it quite well.
