Hi y'all,

This is my first post so pls go easy.

I just bought a '03 camry sportivo (3.0 V6) last week and I have found it to be a nice ride - especially on the freeway.

So quiet and smooth.

:toast:

According to the service manual, it says I should service the car every 7500kms - and the previous owner has done so.

Upon calling up a local Toyota dealership to book in a service - they said that it should only be serviced every 15,000kms.

What is the deal with the service interval? Is it 7,500km or 15,000kms? :help:

Can anyone also recommend me to a reliable mechanic for servicing?

I live around Murumbeena - Melbourne.

Toyota Recommends that you only need to service them every 15,000kms, but being a mechanic myself i would get the oil and filter changed every 7,500kms... Save yourself money and do it yourself every 7,500km interval and get it Serviced by a mechanic every 15,000kms to keep the service books stamped and up to date...

Thank you for your reply Rolla,

to service it myself - what kind of oil and filter (brand & name) is best for the Camry?

Nothin beats Genuine Parts In My opinion...

You can buy your oil and filter from your local Toyota Parts Department...

Get some VVTi Oil (5 litres cause your car needs 4.7) and a D2 Oil Filter...
