people with gear probs

Recommended Posts

evryone that has this gearbox issue how about if we all get together and group buy new flywheel and clutch from someone.

if we all purchase at the same time we should get it relitivly cheaper.

hopefully it would be a significantly lower price than evryone going out sooner or later and buying them seperatly.

so if anyones interested please let me know and when we have an idea of how many of us would buy these parts we can hit up whoevr sells them for a massive group discount.

and people that dont want to buy because of warranty issues well you can always buy with us get it cheaper and when your warranty is up get the parts added then.

so...

whos up for it?

I'm down for it depending on affordability. I just need to know roughly how much it would cost for the clutch and flywheel together. Just a rough estimate would be OK. I don't wanna break the bank. And also roughly how much would it cost to install. Once I know how much it would costs then I'll decide whether I'm in or not. But I'm definitely interested.

Thanks.

I am up for TOM's Flywheel. I will be getting a TRD CAI with that order. The Clutch kit and Flywheel will cost between $1000-$1200 depending where you get it and what brand. I am heading towards Exedy H/D Clutch Kit for $425 (comes with thrust bearing). I am getting that from a local Brake/Clutch specialist.

Exchange rate is great now so if you guys are going to buy anything TRD or TOM's related now is the time. I will be getting my stuff from where Peekay and Stu got their's from. If anyone wants to join me in my purchase PM me and i will let the man know to see what deal we've got. But expect to pay around +-$1000 for clutch and flywheel. Installation should be around +-$500.

well look guys the best way to get a price is for more people to buy with us.

the more buyers id say the better the price gets.

im pretty sure if you were buying it by yourself that it would cost over 1000$

but more buyers in one hit the price drops.

so get the word out and then when we have a few of us then we can speek to someone and get the best price we can.

if u just get the clutch.. without the flywheel.. will the prob go? cause i dont want my car sounding like a chain saw when i start.. nor do i want the insurance guys to know i have it. I mean you can just machine down the stock flywheel to make it smooth.

I don't think you need the lightweight flywheel but i could be wrong because most guys here that resolved the issue have the lightweight flywheel. One thing i know is that some lightweight flywheels cool the clutch better as they have holes in them.

i guess most guys did the combo to save on labour right?

Yeah labour pretty much costs the same if you just do the clutch of both the flywheel & clutch so Peekay & myself decided to do the flywheel as well. The flywheel was something we wanted to do down the track so it just made sense to do it all together instead of paying 2 lots of installation.

I dont think you need to do the flywheel to fix the shift issues, just the clutch. But dont hold me to that as everyone I know who has fixed the problem did both. I have not talked to anyone who has just done the clutch.
