good morning,

i was just wondering if anyone out there has ever fitted remote central locking to a current model hilux 2wd workmate ?? and if you have were and how did you mount the actuators.

i have had a crack at it and found it impossible to get a grab on the lock cable and to find a mounting position for the motors/actuators.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks !!!

Hi There,

I just completed installing a remote central locking kit to my 09 hilux. Found out the hard way you need a cable clamp (Central Locking Cable Lock Adapter Kit 2 Door) to keep the expose wire appart for the actuator. Try this link and company to purchase the clamp. It neccessary and the pictures were a great help.

The response is a bit belated, I hope other can benifit.

Enjoy,

I have a 2007 workmate I used the Rapid remote locking without a cable clamp. There is an opportunity to connect a push\pull rod on the interior door latch, takes some time and patiance to get it( the rod ) right, however I havent had a problem with it for 3 yrs. The cable Clamp I was advised could damage the Cable sheath.Cheers
