I am going to pick up my Aurion Touring next week and i was told the first complimentary service would be after 5000km/3months whichever comes first, instead of the 1500km/3months. however i am going to travel to melbourn from sydney end of this month. Is it good for the car to go on a long trip before the first inspection?

Ummm, should be ok, but I would rather keep driving in the populated areas for the break in period just incase your car has a dormant mechanical fault (IMO I wouldnt want to stuck halfway in a 300km stretch of road with nobody around...).

But if your still going to go ahead, for the breakin period make sure u drive at different speeds during the long cruises, dont stay constant at one speed.

I drove my corolla new from the dealer in Sydney to Mount Druitt then home to Coffs Harbour and it had its first service done the next week with toyota. i took it steady and had no problems.

I think if you look in your warranty and service book that you'll find the first complimentary service is valid any time between 1000 and 5000 km, but the offer expires after three months, most customers come in after around 1000 km.

Just drive normally and a couple of longer trips wouldn't hurt.

I stand corrected, just checked and you can take it in any time UP to 5000 km. The offer expires if you do OVER 5000 km or three months elapses
