how to disable side airbag???

hi guys,

i have a 2002 Levin and wanting to change my seat but it has a side airbag, i was told that you can put a resistor in to trick the computer. does anyone know where i can get this done?

I found that TRD do a relay plug to trick the computer, but dont know if u can get them here. the airbag is built into the seat which will be replaced with a Bride seat.

Pretty sure it's illegal to remove airbags.

that is correct. Its like if you want to change your steering wheel to something else in a later model car - you can't unless the other steering wheel has an airbag too

i have askd RTA and they said if the car was tested with just the front airbags and the sides were extra options then i can remove them. the Levin is basically the same as Acent or Conquest but with extra options. I found that the TRD plugs can be ordered from C/Hill Toyota for $22.00.

why would you want to disable the airbags anyway :S
