Changing Headlights on 07 Levin ZR

Hi all...

I just bought HB3 & H11 globes which are rated at 5000K to replace the highbeam and fog lights on my Levin ZR.

I attempted to change the bulb for the highbeams but the space to get to them is really tight! Especially the one on the passenger side! And that battery connector looks mean (will I get zapped if I touch it?)

Anyways, the fog lights look easier to change but I have tried as yet. From the manual looks like you remove the fenders and the back of the fog lights should be right there.

Just some questions tho...

1) Is there any easier way to change the highbeam bulbs? If not...

2) Would the Toyota Service Techies change the bulbs for me when I next take the car in for service?

3) Would the bulbs being at 5000K cause any issues with heat/cabling etc...

I guess if it's all impossible to do, and there's a consensus that it'll damage the wiring, I could always fob 'em off on ebay.

OK with your tip of being patient, I did manage to change both high beam lights and fog lights... Thanks!

I've now got another question, does anyone know how to remove the covers to gain access the interior cabin bulbs?

I tried but I didn't want to try harder just in case I break it or pull the entire thing out or something.

I'm asking cos I am looking to change the bulbs to brighter LEDs like these on ebay...

...but just need to know how to remove those covers and maybe take some measurements to ensure that there's enough space and they'll sit in comfortably with the covers in place.

Doesn't your Levin ZR have HID Headlamps?

I really dont see the point of installing HID for high beams. HIDs need time to warm up and you cant flash your high beam. Unless you are using bi-xenon blubs.

As for the interior light. I've been figuring it since day 1. Caz i wana change to the LED boards aswell

Yeah it does. It also has separate halogens for high beams. They are the ones I replaced with the xenon gas halogens.

Hmm... The Corolla Manual doesn't show you at all. Oh wells, hopefully someone on here would have the knowledge on how to remove them from experience.

To get access to them fog lights, you'll have to get down and dirty lying on your back. You'll also need a phillips head screw driver and a torch light can be handy.

First, there are 2 screws that you have to undo on the front fenders (if you have the manual, refer to it as it will show you the positions of these 2 screws). There's also one of those press down clippy thingies that you apparently remove, but I had problems removing them and it wasn't a big issue in the end. After removing the 2 screws, I gently pulled the fender down towards the back of the car so that I could get access to the fog lights. With the torch, you can have a look at the plugs (from memory they have an orange colour?).

To change your bulbs, simply press down the clip in the middle and pull the plug towards you (that would be when you're lying on your back). They should easily unclip. Once they've come off, you twist the bulb I think anticlockwise? until it cannot move any further and you should then be able to pull it out without any force.

Once out, just do the reverse. Start with the bulb first, insert and make sure they appear straight, twist it in the opposite direction. The connector of the bulb should be pointing staight down toward you. The plug should then be easily inserted till you hear it click.

Test the fog lights to see if they light up before you screw the screws back in to the fenders.
