hi guys i was installing a new cd player into my 02 corolla and everything was going good until i noticed that there was an extra wire i have since been told that its an illumination wire what do i do with it? i had my cd player working till night time when i turned on my lights and it busted a fuse for my dash lights that dosnt seem good. i have put cd players in cars b4 and never had issues like this if anyone could help that would be great, i know i could just spend 80 bucks and get it done but i would like to know whats going wrong

The extra wire, did you tape it up before you put the head unit in? If not it may be touching something metal and causing your fuses to blow. Does the 2002 Corolla have a power antenna? If it does that could be what the extra wire is for, modern cars don’t seem to have extra illumination wires (that I’ve seen), they just always illuminate (great how modern LEDs outlast the cars). If it’s for the antenna its perfect for powering your amp if you have one.

Check the extra wire is sealed and try again.

      Head Unit with Apple CarPlay

      Hi Enforcer, Got a JVC KW-M56OBT 48% off at automotive superstore. My wife is super happy with it, lots of functionality, the Bluetooth microphone that comes with it makes phone calls crystal clear. If you choose to install it yourself you need to get wiring harnesses from Aerpro which are sold at Supercheap or any other car shop. If you choose to get one let me know if you are going to buy the Aerpro wiring harnesses and I will let you know which ones to get because it can get quite tricky I had to take some back and change over.

      Assuming it's expensive because you have no spare keys to make new copies from? Whilst your key doesn't need batteries and has no buttons, it probably still has a chip built in for the immobiliser to prevent hot wiring

      Finally found all Tarago's 6 speakers - 2 in roof lining

      After owning a 2007 GLi Tarago (ACR50), I've only just found there are 2 Tweeter speakers hidden under the roof lining just behind the front row (driver and passenger) seats, above the B-pillars. Blew my mind. Would really have preferred it if they weren't so hidden. Ideally they should have positioned them a bit further back too for the rear passengers to hear more clearly. Now that I know, I've been able to tune the stereo much better for rear passengers. Taragos were alway advertised as having 6 speaker stereo systems, but I assumed it must have been a marketing con because I could only find 4 speaker grills. Since the rear speakers don't have any treble sound, they really need those tweeters in the roof to balance out the sound.

      Can I use USB hub to get more USP ports?

      I just bought 2022 Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport Hybrid. The manual said there are two USB ports, but I can only find one. I need two USP ports on the front: One for Andriod auto, the other for dashcam. Can I connect a USB hub to the USB port on the car, will Andriod auto work on the USB hub's port?

      Hi Martin, Firstly welcome to the forum.. I would go on to Youtube I am sure there are many videos there showing the process. If you have no luck there google it and see if anything there can help out, I have never done it on a corolla but I do know on my Aurion it was easy on the right side but a real pain on the left with the battery in the way.
