Track Day

On behalf of the MR2 Owners Club of Australia (NSW Branch) Inc I'd like to invite you to consider participating in our bi-annual Advanced Driving Course and Track Day scheduled for Saturday, July 5 at Goulburn's recently resurfaced Wakefield Park track.

The day will be conducted by the highly regarded 5th Gear Motorsport who will provide three instructors. While the program is subject to change to acommodate numbers. it will look like this.

8:30am: All drivers arrive, meet & greet, sign on, safety briefing and days programme out lined

9:00am Break into 3 groups, and head off with instructors to location for training, vehicle safety inspections.

9:30am Commence training. Three exercise for each group to rotate through. Each exercise to run for 45 minutes, 5 minutes for change over.

First exercise: braking, threshold stops, ABS if applicable, brake and steer, higher speed stops, picking braking marks, trail braking.

Second exercise: driver set up, bracing, steering, mid corner vehicle balance.

Third exercise: Gear changing, skip shifting, cornering lines.

12:00pm Lunch at the circuit

12:30pm Start afternoon open track session. Groups broken up according to ability. One group at a time on track - 8 cars with 3 instructors rotating through cars as required.

Each group has 20 minute sessions, so you will get a 20 minute run per hour or 4 runs per driver in the afternoon session, totalling 80 minutes, that’s more than enough laps

4:30pm Presentations

The cost to non MR2 Club members is $250 - approximately a $100 saving on an Advanced Driver Course and Track Day combined.

We have also arranged some accommodation at Mike's Manor for anyone wanting to travel down Friday night. It's a steal at $80 a double including hot breakfast. When you ring to book you will ned to tell them you are with the MR2 Club.
