Hey guys,

For quite some time now everytime I'm driving my little 1991 Corolla Hatch at about 60km and release my foot off the acceleration pedal, there is a squeeling noise coming from under the bonnet, but if I place my foot back on the accelerator and gain speed it disappears almost instantenously. It only happens around 60km, would anyone know what it could be? I'm a uni student and are looking for a budget option to get it fixed.

Also on another note I believe my brake pads are on there way out as the brakes are beginning to squeel louder everytime, what is the best option to replace them with?

Thanks

Sqeeling noise could possibly be related to your belts... Check the tension and belt condition for cracks or any wear... Try lubing them and adjusting them and see how you go...

Also with the brakes, Bendix Brake Pads are fine...

If you're around Sydneys North Shore and after cheap mechanical work, send me a PM ;) ...
