Has anybody done a CAI on their Paseo? I've been contemplating a couple of different ways of doing it (without the factory airbox) and haven't really come up with much.

Hmm, I don't know how a Honda Accord CAI would fit as the throttlebody is on the other side of the car, not to mention the airbox is plummed through the guard then into another silencer box

you are correct about the throttle body of the accord is on the other side

but the tubing can be cut and flipped around so that it fits on the right side of the engine

i found a few links that may help you, i've wanted to do this mod but dont have tools to cut the tube

the other option is to have it custom made

another way is you could cut a hole in the factory air box and get one of those flexi tubing and route it somewhere to the front?

Hmm, interesting. When I get a stock airbox back, I'll have a play around with a few things to see what works well. Now I have access to all sorts of pipe working tools, I could make a couple of anybody is interested.

Well, I'm about halfway through finishing this (finally). Using 3" mandrel bent alloy, the filter sits just on top of the passengers undertray. I've still got to weld it up, if anybody is interested these will be around $140 each or $180 for a whole kit (includes joiners, filter, hose clamps, vacuum line, etc).

sweet just take a picture of it before installation and after

i'd like to see a custom made cai

Finally all done. Result is good - no more annoying induction noise and butt dyno gives two thumbs up. Good improvement from around 2k to 4k, a couple extra degrees of advance due to the cold air is probably helping a lot. Here are some pics, keep in mind that the splash guard actually completely shields the filter from any crap on the road - it just doesn't look it in the picture.

umm very nice is that 1 complete piece of tubing?

just curious what size/brand is that air filter you got there?

interesting i like :D

1 piece, I think it's a 'Drift' branded filter.

the_random_hero - are you still making these bad boys?

Sure, I have enough alloy to do another set although one member has expressed a fair bit of interest in it. I'm a bit bogged down with work at the moment, but I'm sure I could get enough alloy and get the time to do it over the next few weeks.

If you want some more information, PM me and I can talk price.

Hey man know that this topic is old

but just wondering how much the CIA

Tube would cost

and would a K&N pod filter fit it

Thanks

I have one half done already, but really finding myself strapped for time between starting my own little business and working on the MR2. I should be able to get a chance to get a bit further through one tomorrow. Could probably sell it for $200 including a brand new Drift pod filter ($60 worth), the rocker breather line and postage. You'd still need silicone joiners and two hose clamps.

Should fit any 3" pod filter.

It's still there, behind where the strut brace is (you can see the wires coming into it next to the fuel filter. All I did was drill a hole and reuse the rubber grommet to fit it snugly into there.

It sits snugly up against the loom underneath the dizzy, is held in by the silicone bend and has a zip tie around the radiator shroud. I could make brackets but it's more mucking around.
