Central Locking on the Vienta Ultima

Hey Guys,

My ride is a Toyota Camry Vienta Ultima 1995 model

I am wondering, it has remote central locking except, you pretty much have to be facing the key in the car and be pretty close for it to work? I recently aquired this car from a dealer.

Is this the way the remote central locking is for this model? or could it be the battery in the key or something going dead?

Also, I noticed its not hooked up to the indicators or horn, is this possible?

Sounds like the battery is going dead...

Either that or the remote is stuffed...

Also, with the lights and horn, I think that requires an alarm upgrade kit... Don't think Toyota would have stock anymore, you'd have to go aftermarket but looking at around $600 for something decent...

Replace the battery - it's low on power. Take it to a ***** Smith and they'll do it for you.

Replace the battery - it's low on power. Take it to a Tandy or similar and they'll do it for you.

^yeah about that. try using your mouth as an antenna :P point the remote to your chin n open ur mouth pointing to the car :P

but your remote battery is low.

I know you can get the horn and stuff to make the beeping noise by programming the car to do so?

Davey from Auscam did it... I don't remember the procedure, but it works!
