The indicator light beneath the auto transmission selector lever on my 2002 Camry CSI has stopped working. Done the obvious checking of fuses to no avail so it would appear to be a blown bulb. Can anyone advise me on how to access the bulb for replacement? What is the trick/knack of removing the plastic trim that surrounds the selector lever?

Any advice most appreciated.

It's a pain...

You gotta remove the centre console and the console around the shifter...

Then unclip the shifter top, lift it upwards and access the light globe...

Yes, I expected to have to remove trim etc. What it is I'm after is specific advice as to which bits, and more importantly, HOW. Dodn't want to be left with cracked, distorted trim etc.

I know how to do it but dont have the car myself to be able to take photos for you...

From what I can remember you need to pull up the trim around the shifter, then remove the back of the centre console and you should be able to squeeze your fingers to get the globe out...
