Corolla Sportivo Handling

Hi. I am looking at buying a corolla sportivo in the next few months and was wondering how you guys would rate the handling of the car going round corners or taking it on runs through places like Black Spur or Yarra Boulevard (Melbourne) etc.

I would say the handling is not that great as it sits a bit high. There is a fair bit of body roll. For better handling it would have to be lowerred. So if u thinking of getting it for the handling...better think about lowerring it too. ;)

the sportivo does have a fair bit of body roll but overall it handles extremly well. it settles very quickly and evenly to compensate for the ride height.

I ve had my sportivo lowered and with the reduced ride height i enjoy taking corners :D

yeah i love the handling esp after i got the new springs for the car and increased the damp, now i too love taking/drifting around corners

i had a levin before i bought my stivo.

and comparing it...the sportivo is heaps better.

firmer...a little bumpier..but more stable.

That's because u guys got it lowerred.

Mate....think about all the others who still have it on stock springs....We're rolling all over the place!!! :D

Talking about springs....what needs to be done to get it lowerred?

Is it just changing the springs or do we need to change the bump stops and shocks etc???

I agree with Black Rolla the car does tend to sit a bit high but compared to other cars I have had, I find the car with stock suspension handles quite well around corners.

Just replace the springs for like 450-700 bucks.

or you can save up a bit more and get adjustable coil overs with front and rear braces for $2,500 at straight talk suspension.

For everyday use there is no bloody bodyroll, unless you guys dont know what that is, but if youre gona take the car above recomended speed corners and speed limit then you will get body roll because the suspension is set up to be cumfy not bumpy hence it's a bit looser. I dont blame the car height considering our F***D up roads. A set of Eibach springs should improve the cornering although even as it is, it will outcorner alot of other "sports cars" and remember it has a torsion beam at the back not IRS, but it still handles and steers predictable if kept within its limits.

the main motivation for lowering my sportivo was the appearance. i looks very good lowered.

I agree with Lucio as well.I am a law abiding citizen :D and drive at the correct speed limits :P , and as a result the car has littlle or no body roll at all.
