Has anyone had bad experience with these guys? I did, and just thought I’d share my experience to you guys/girls.

I rolled my rear guards a few months ago, and had problems with scrubbing only on the rear left guard. So I thought maybe it wasn’t rolled enough, and that it should be rolled just a little more. I decided to take my ride to Big O Tyres (since it’s closer to home) to see if they do guard rolling, and a worker there told me that they use the actual guard roller equipment. So the boss tells me it’ll cost me 40 bucks to roll one side, and me being an asian wanting to make it cheaper, I told him that I got both my rear guards rolled for 70 bucks at 7daytyres. He then says “Well you could go back to them, get them to do the same crappy job, and waste 20 dollars of petrol on the way. Or you could pay me 40 dollars to fix up their mess, I’m the boss, and I’ll actually do the guard rolling myself”. I thought that was pretty reasonable, since he’ll do the job and no rookie is touching my car, so I agreed to let him do the job.

I drove into the workshop, and a worker starts jacking up my car of the rear end, takes off the wheel and starts heating the guard with a heat gun. I was wondering where the boss was, and if he would kept to his words or not, but after the heating was done, the boss came to take over. The boss then asks me “If the paint cracks, there is no warranty for it okay?”, and I agreed, thinking that I could get Dave from Dsport to fix up the cracks for me. So I wondered off for a bit, and the boss was using an actual hammer to do the guards! He banged it so hard that the guard flared out, was really uneven and ripples could be seen (I only realized this after driving off to Daves workshop). He probably then realized that he fcuked up the job, so he decided to leave it and walks off elsewhere working on his friends motorbike.

A while later, he then tells one of his rookies that the job is done, and that he should put the wheels back on and lower the car. So I then paid and drove off to Dsport to ask Dave if he could repair the paint cracks on both rear guards. Dave then sees the left rear guard and was shocked, he couldn’t believe someone could do a job like that and still charge their customer. He said if he was me, he would have told them to get fcuked and get them to pay for the damage. I told him to give me a quote for the repair, and it was 400 bucks to get it fixed... so I thought why not go back to complain.

When I got back to Big O Tranny, the boss and a few workers came out to see why I came back, I told them that they had damaged the panel and asked them to pay for the damage. The boss then tells me “no sorry, I can’t do anything about that, there’s no warranty”. So my defense was “hang on a minute, you told me that If the paint cracks, there is no warranty for it, and the paint didn’t crack. I asked you to roll the guard, not flare it, so it’s your fault for the damage”. He then cuts in and tells me that he told me that there wasn’t any warranty for the guards at all, and he obviously just made it up just then. I told him that I wasn’t told that, in fact nobody told me, he kept denying it and wouldn’t pay me out. I told him I’ll take it to the Department of Fair Trading, he didn’t mind but he wanted to write me a receipt for the guard rolling, and wanted to include that he told me that there is no warranty at all. So the receipt would be pretty much useless to me.

Anyways the argument went around in circles, at the end I told him to pay half the damage, and he still wouldn’t pay! All the staff then backs him up saying that they all heard him say that there is no warranty covered at all, which is a total crap since the workers weren’t even near my car, they were working on different things. They then had to close and I was holding them up, so the brother of the boss (who is also an owner) came into the office to ask me what the problem was. We then had a chat outside, I showed him the damage to the guard, and he wouldn’t pay me either. So I told him “I asked his worker if they use the actual guard roller equipment, and he said yes, so I then agreed with the process. But the next thing you know your little brother uses a hammer to do the guards, and he never asked me if it was okay to use that or not. So the hammer caused uneven pressure points and that caused ripples or waves on the panel, if he had used the right equipment then maybe this wouldn’t occur”.

He then tells me that they did tell me that there is no warranty covered at all but I wasn’t listening, anyways later he offered to fix the damage at his panel beater and that I had to pay for half (WTF). So I disagreed and wanted to pick my own panel beater and that they should pay half and that didn’t work either. At the end they told me I could go complain or get my refund ($40) and 100 dollars on top for the damage. I was really frustrated and couldn’t be bothered taking it any further, so I got my refund and the 100 on top. The boss wanted to photocopy my license saying that he needs it as proof for refund. That was full of shiit, and I refused to give it, I knew they just wanted my address. While walking out the office, I could see in the corner of my eye, the boss sticking his finger at me, talk about immature.

Anyways that’s the last time I’m going there, had another issue with them last midyear, they took 4 goes to put king springs in my car correctly. Each time I drove off there was always a knocking noise, so on the forth try it was finally solid.

So yeh… let me know what you would have done, I wasn’t really not bothered with complaining. Now I have to wait a fortnight to get my car repaired…since Dave is a busy man.

man i feel for you.

i had the same problem last year with tempe tokyo spares.

never ever ever ever go there for anthing from spare parts to an engine rebuild.

they have a couple of good workers, josh in particular but other then that they are useless.

my car got "broken" into while getting a 20v rebuilt and the system stolen. they decided wasn't their fault or their responsibility.

they replaced my 1/4 glass which was broken and said they will put brand new tint on it so it matches.

i am a tinter and even blind freddy could tell that the tint did not match and it was well over 10 year old tint.

in the end they replaced whatever i had a reciept for after a long hard fight, which was a shame because the speakers i got off a mate, and i couldn't get a reciept. BUT they also said they would put in my rear speakers (new ones i bought) into the "new"(used ****ty) parcel tray. they put 2 screws in out of 8. i just hope that they actually decided to bolt the engine back together :s.

still to this day i reckon they "broke" into it themself and so does everyone i ever tell the story to.

the outcome came to

2 month old 15" top of the range clarion sub -- being replaced with 12" bottom of the range used ????galaxy?????

2 month old pioneer 6x9's -- clarion 4inch (that i paid for)

top of the range clarion head unit -- some ****ty thing

they must be dumb though coz they left 2 top of the range clarion amps underneith both front seats lol.

i went to big o when i was getting my car lowered. they installed it first time around and had no issues what so ever. maybe cause im wog they were good and talkative with me.

I personally never used them, but my brother has and so has my dad have and we never had a problem...but its like Sinan said were wogs though, so maybe it was a racial thing.

Next time you should of tried All Springs in Moorebank and see if they do guard rolling....they are on Heathcote next to True Blue Smash repairs. They installed my rear coilovers on the cappa and also done the suspension on my mates ke55 and never had a problem.
